Hi everybody,
First off, this plugin does work with WordPress 5.0 and the Gutenberg editor. However, it might not *look* like it does. There is currently a bug in WordPress core that is causing the preview of the embed to fail in the editor. The embed block will display an error saying “Sorry, we could not embed that content.” — however, this is a LIE!
Just save your post and preview it — you’ll see your sermon is there, safe and sound. This is an identified bug (#45447 on trac) that just affects the way that Gutenberg gets the embed previews.
If you’re using classic editor, no problem. If you’re using a classic editor block, no problem. This only occurs with the “embed” block. I’m monitoring the bug on trac and will post here when a fix is available, and I’ll update the plugin compatibility to match.
]]>FYI Users — Soundfaith is now called Faithlife Sermons. This changes the URL structure for sermons uploaded, so I’ll need to update the plugin. Your old sermons should still be working fine, it seems they’ve set up redirects so the embeds will still work properly. New sermons will not embed at this time. I’ll hopefully have a fix up soon.
Thanks for using the Plugin!
