The plugin hadn’t been giving major loading problems for some time.

Unfortunately in thi last week we realized that with the WordPress update to the new version 6.1.1, the Songkick plugin almost always creates loading problems, as in this case:

Can the problem be solved?

Otherwise, in spite of ourselves, we have to disable it or delete it.

Hi again – apologies for submitting another report so soon after you sorting the previous one!

This is quite bizarre, because I made NO changes to my site, the last problem was resolved just by Songkick at your suggestion.

The problem now is that the plugin was showing no entries at all for any geographic area. Of course, I imagined this was a SK problem again.

But then, I found I couldn’t access my WP dashboard. I had to remove the Songkick plugin manually. I have no idea why this would happen, so I’ll paste the error message in case there’s anything obvious. (I can’t give a live URL to check as I need the back end to function). Thanks again.

I use the plugin to display gigs on my site and it has worked fine for several years (thanks!). But just this month I hit a problem – rather than showing the gigs from today, it’s showing past events – so the gig calendar starts at April 4.

The Songkick website seems to display correctly, so it must be the interaction with the plugin that is pulling up the wrong data. PHP etc all up to date. Any ideas?

Days after an event has passed it still shows in the widget even when cache is cleared. How often does this check events and how can we keep it accurate?

Just a note: I changed my PHP version to 8.0.5 and the website went down (blank). WordPress sent me an email saying it found a fatal error in this plugin. Changed my PHP version back down to 7.X and the website works again.

Hi, love the plugin. Is it possible to bypass the output template so we can make our own php output without editing the plugin?

I’m using this plugin to display a listing for a Metro Area. I’m not a great coder/css editor so am having trouble figuring this for myself. Is there a way to change the way the output is styled?

Is it possible to display it with the days/dates a bit more clearly separated, and not have the date listed for each individual gig but just as a header for that day e.g.:

I’m having what appears to be a problem where the sidebar widget doesn’t seem to update on the site.

When I amend live dates via tourbox the revision is echoed on the live dates page using the plugin no problem. You can see that here where the next live date is April 30th

However, the widget in the sidebar shows the next live date as April 29th. This date has been cancelled via Tourbox but the amendment doesn’t seem to be picked up in the widget. You can see that here in the right sidebar entitled “Next Live Performance”:

I’ve tried removing the widget and re-applying it thinking that might force a refresh of the content but it didn’t seem to. I think I’ve got everything set up correctly at my end.

Is there a cache or something similar for the widget that I can flush or do updates just take time to ripple through to the widget?

I am trying to add the venue event list to the webpage https://www.ticketrewind.com/venue/ but I can’t seem to get the shortcode correct to display this. Currently I have [songkick_concerts_and_festivals songkick_id=y8688_ songkick_id_type=venue] which is probably wrong but trying to figure out how to populate the info for this SongKick page: https://www.songkick.com/venues/8688-oriental-theater

I’m adding multiple artists using the shortcode. To keep my page clean i only want to show 3 events. I used the overwrite code: number_of_events=3. This works for the first shortcode, but on all following it doesn’t work.

The page is set up like this:

Is it possible to show whether the artist is performing solo or with the band in the gig listing?

When I create an event I usually include “Solo” or “Band” in the additional information section on Songkick but I can’t figure out how to display that on the list of forthcoming gigs so people will know.

I’ve installed your plugin and tried to connect with Songkick. The default API didn’t work, so I got a new one from Songkick.

But I still get the message:

Your Songkick API key is invalid. Go to the settings page to update your key. If you use the default key, you need to upgrade the plugin.

Any ideas what I can try to get the plugin working?

I know this topic is already in the support forum, but I still could not resolve it with the solutions offered.

I am using www.remarpro.com 4.0 with a server (free) on bplaced.net. My website is reflectionofsound.de.
I downloaded the Plugin and pasted in to the plugin folder on the server. It shows up in the plugin section and as a widget. I put all the info (username:reflectionfosound) in and also added the API key under songkick settings.

But nothing appears on the right side of the page where I placed it.
I am tracking artists and am attending a few concerts, so something should appear.

Does my server/host not support Songkick? Or is the WordPress template the reason? Or might the API key run out after some time not having used it?

Do I have to change something in one of the php files on my server? I am not an expert so I wasnt sure where to paste Shortcode or Requests offered on the Songkick developer page.

Thanks for any support you can give (Songkick is one of the reasons I switched from a simple wordpress.com Blog to a website)

I’m using the widget on the front page with no problems, but when I use it in the sidebar, the first entry appears fine, but the following entries are moved down to below the comment field in the main column.

I installed this plugin with correct artist ID and added a shortcode into the page but absolutely nothing appears on that page. However I want to limit the string lengh of the venue and the location (city/country) in order that if the name is too long to see “…” at the end of the name instead of the long name.

I see the file songkick_presentable_event.php where the function is added but I am not sure how to implement the $str inside it because I am not PHP professional.

Can you help me to do that?

I’m having a lot of trouble styling some of the font sizes.

I found a few font sizes in the PHP (of the dates – day/month/year) but can’t find out how to style the venue name or the artist name font sizes.
