After a few months of intermittent struggling to figure out why PHPStorm (an IDE) stopped showing me pop-up documentation for built-in PHP functions in my WordPress site project, I finally figured out that it was because with version 1.7 you started including php-scoper.phar. This phar archive contains a set of “stub” files — commented definitions for the built-in PHP functions and the duplication with the IDE’s built-in stubs led to unhelpful behavior that it took me a long time to track down.
(I’m not a full-time PHP dev, or I probably would have known to press Ctrl-B on the function marked as having duplicate definitions to see where it’s defined. Right-clicking php-scoper.phar and telling PHPStorm to exclude it from the project fixed the problem.)
I am not familiar with php-scoper, but its phar seems to be a tool used during development. From version 1.10.0 of your plugin, I deleted php-scoper.phar and was able to deactivate, activate, and test the plugin successfully without that file being present.
I think it would be helpful and appropriate if php-scoper.phar were removed from the plug-in distribution on www.remarpro.com. But if I’m wrong about that, I’m always happy to learn new things ??
]]>Hi,
I have installed smtp2go and it all looks good, the test emails work perfectly.
But if I fill in any forms (powered by gravity forms) on our site, no emails are received despite the forms’ entries being created and stating the emails were sent to the server.
Any ideas on what else I may need to do to rectify this issue?
]]>Hi,
Can you please update guzzle to latest version? It is causing errors with AWS PHP SDK.
]]>The update you just pushed out an hour or so ago has auto-updated on a handful of my sites. 3 are OK, 4 have broken.
Only one of the sites generated an email. Here is the information it sent:

I’m posting this first, then beginning to investigate on my end. Is it similar to when your update broke many of my sites back in November?
]]>I’m getting an error in my smtp2go log saying the emails are rejected because they are coming from a noreply@www.[domainname] instead of the version of the domain without the www. When I sent a test email from the test tab of the plugin it works fine, but when it’s from a webform on the site, it gets rejected.
]]>Hi there, I’m quite impressed with the great reviews about this plugin all around the interet; good job!
For my new website I use FluentCRM, FluentForms and FluentSMTP. FluentSMTP mainly to get FluentForms at my website sent reliably and get the form data saved in FluentCRM. To start sending email newsletters, created with FluentCRM, I planned to configure Amazon SES. However, from websites I built before, I know that’s quite a hassle. So looking for an alternative I stumbled upon SMTP2GO. Great find! ??
My question: if I install and configure SMTP2GO, can I safely delete FluentSMTP? Does SMTP2GO take care of sending both website forms (made with FluentForms) and newsletters (made with FluentCRM)?
I’m not a techie, so looking for some kind of confirmation ??
]]>Hi,
I noticed an email didn’t go through (and didn’t show up at all on smtp2go.com), so I dug into the error log and found the below error four times:
PHP Fatal error: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version “>= 7.4.0”. You are running 7.0.33. in /home/REDACTED/public_html/wp-content/plugins/smtp2go/build/vendor/composer/platform_check.php
I’m running version 1.7.1 on PHP 7.4.33 on WP 6.4.2.
Is this a bug?
Thank you,
Joseph
]]>In the latest update PHP 8.1 is required. Are you really going to force your clients to update? This is very unfriendly to your client base.
PHP 7.4 might be EOL. But MANY plugins are not ready for PHP 8.1.
]]>please stop this update. Customer of 10 years, this is not how you do an update. You’re plugin will currently break 40 sites and more with auto update. This needs a dashboard warning at least with a time frame. Currently having to manually fix multiple sites ass we speak. This not the right way to go about. Where has the communication been with a less up. Please stop this update from breaking all sites.
]]>Your plugin just auto-updated on my site about 10 minutes ago, and it broke the site. I got a site-down notification, and the homepage showed this error:
Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version “>= 8.1.0”.
I used Recovery Mode to log in and deactivate SMTP2GO, and the site came back up. My site is running PHP 8.0. Is 8.1 now required?
]]>We have a site on which the plug-in Smash Balloon Instagram Feed is trying to send out notifications to us when there is a issue with the feed.
We don’t receive those emails because it is being send via the wp_mail() functionality and takes the administrator email, which is from a different domain.
Is there any way to overwrite this behaviour?
]]>Hi, I use your plugin as you guys have suggested for client’s email addresses that don’t get sent via normal wordpress mail.
Therefore I have always used your plugin for past few years with no issues.
I have a client who has @gmail.com email address for their contact form (using WP Forms), and we were told to use SMTP2Go plugin, and then we had NO issues with emails coming through into the Inbox for the owner of the gmail account. And I have a cc of Contact form going to me also.
I receive a copy of the Website enquiry, but the owner does NOT (they have the @gmail.com email address).
So it used to work no issues, NOW she doesn’t get the email enquiries and I don’t know what to do or how to fix it now.
I have obviously already setup the client on the smtp2go account also online.
Are you able to help please?
Thanks Kristin
]]>Hi!
We are you using the plugin and it works great. We do have a question though, is it possible to setup backup emails for all the forms we are using? Maybe using extra headers?
Thank you in advance!
