My issue is it disables the possibility of filtering on multiples categories.
WordPress basic support:
https://yoursite.com/category/apples+oranges
which returns articles on the category apples AND oranges
But when you activate your plugin it no longer works.
Do you think you can support this operation in your plugin?

I can’t use your plugin with WPML as it breaks the redirections from one language to the other.

Actually, imho, the problem comes from the fact that your plugin removes the category base, which was not the case before.

As soon as I activate your plugin, the category base is removed.

If you made a modification to the plugin, could we get an option to keep the category base ?

It seems child catégories feed returns 404

/my-cat/feed/ => ok
/my-cat/child-cat/feed/ => 404
/child-cat/feed/ => 404

Plugin update issue: 2.4 (2020-01-17)

– Change: Use term_link filter instead of the deprecated category_link filter. Props webgmclassics.

This change affects custom taxonomy pramalink. Because term_link works on whole taxonomy including category and custom taxonomy. Please use previous method category_link instead term_link.

I’ve added category_link filter and it works well like previous update.

This plugin created for Category Permalink only. And it’s neccesery to fix this issue for all custom taxonomy user’s.

So, for all user’s like me, who use custom taxonomy please help us with it. Because not everyone can know the code.

Three quick questions to see if this plugin will work for me.

1. Does this plugin work with Woocommerce product categories as well? (%product_cat%/)

2. Also, does this actually modify the functionality of %category%/ or does it simply rely on 301 redirects? (Does it actually shorten the links in the html output?)

Both the WP plugin page and the Wordfence security plugin are now notifying users that this plugin appears to be abandoned since it has not been updated since WP version 4.7.13. It still works, but will it soon be tested with WP 5.1.1?

Hello, I have a problem when I use this plugin.
I have categories:

Category 1 (domain/category-1)
- Category 1.1 (domain/category-1/category-1-1)
- Category 1.2 (domain/category-1/category-1-2)
Category 2 (domain/category-2)

When I used this plugin:

Category 1 (domain/category-1)
- Category 1.1 (domain/category-1-1)
- Category 1.2 (domain/category-1-2)
Category 2 (domain/category-2)

And I have a Picture have name (category-1-1.jpg).

Then, I view Category 1.1 on url https://domain/category-1-1. But show only picture category-1-1.jpg not Category 1.1

Please help me fix this problem. Thanks a lot.

It is not working with AMP plugin (By Automattic). If I put the URL with /amp/ it redirects to the URL without /amp/ at the end. But if I use /?amp=1 at the end of URL, it works well.
Could you please correct it?

after installing the newest Version of you Plugin, we see the Permalinks under the Title.
What does the red Icon mean. The Link works and the Article is fine…

Hey Scott,

the plugin works as it should for posts. However it effects pagination of sub category pages. It leaves only last category name in URL as it should but when you open page 2,3,4 they open 404 page.

As default, I start with the “main category” as the “first in alphabetical order”. Then I manually select the “main category” when I am inside the post, then I save. After save, the post just resets itself and it takes again as “main category” the “first in alphabetical order” instead of the one I chose. I would like to understand if I am missing some steps that don’t let me choose my “main category”.

When linking to categories from the WP menus the link are missing missing a “/” forward slash before the category, so you end up with;

instead of

The plugin works great however I am getting 404 errors every time I click any navigation buttons,
I have tried with the default page navigation system from WordPress and also PageNavi.

So when I click page 2, 3, 4 etc I am redirected to a 404 page.

I have disabled all other plugins and tried with and without this plugin and the result always points to this plugin.

I am sure others will have experienced this problem so I am looking at a solution.

If you assign a post to a single category then single category permalink works just fine.

However if you assign a post to multiple categories, use Hikari to set the category permalink then the single category structure breaks and resorts to the standard hierarchical structure.

thanks for created Single Category Permalink Plugin, it’s a great plugin. But i have a problem with feed Rss.

My Google Webmaster Tools Center notify me that all Feed Page return “404 error”.
If i deactive SC plugin, it work.

IMHO this problem is caused because the original category permalink is “example.com/states/germany/” and related feed we can find at “example.com/states/germany/feed”

But, when we active plugin, the permalink become “example.com/germany/” and related feed should be “example.com/states/germany/feed” but it not exist.

There are solutions for this problem? How i can resolve this?
