I was wary with 3 years since last update, but still has 100% functionality. Works exactly as advertised.

I tried the other plugin doing the same but only Simply Exclude managed to fix my problem of excluding ONLY from the widget Categories and/or from the homepage.
Many thanks and kudos to you my man, thank you, will donate once I’ll start monetize and let me know when you’re in Berlin and I’ll show you around!

My site was mysteriously HOSED about a week ago after an upgrade to WP 4.7.3 . After much gnashing of teeth, I discovered that it was the Simply Exclude plugin.
Bums me out. A whole day wasted. I had been using it for several years without incident.
But at least I learned a lot ??

The Plugin works perfect and it’s exactly what I searched to hide the Portfolio in search. Thanks for this great Plugin.

So far, so good. Works exactly as intended. Awesome plugin, thanks!!

It does the job perfectly.
What needs to be understood is that the setting page won’t make you choose categories or whatever you want to rule. Instead setting page allows you to describe what will be ruled.
Then you determine either inclusion or exclusion on the content page itself : the post edit form for a post, etc.
Thanx !

Took me awhile to get it working and still can’t say I understood it, but it solved the problem well! Some more explanatory text in the settings page could be helpful. Also didn’t use the terminology of posts page (which is what settings calls it) so it was hard to figure out what was excluding what. I guess this represents differences between the code and the backend so may be WordPress’s fault, but that doesn’t make it any less confusing.
Did I say it worked with my problem of excluding one category from my posts page.

Thank you!
This is very handy and you don’t have to mess with the code of a theme!

It is simple, convenient and does everything I wanted and more. I can exclude a post from feeds and searches on the individual posts before publishing or bulk exclude in the menu view. I’m sure it does more, but that was exactly what I needed. Thank you!

This plug-in did a great job, but archive months that were empty (because of being filtered) appeared on my sidebar and gave a 404 error when clicked on. The author of this plug-in, Paul, gave prompt support, was a great communicator, and most importantly, fixed the program. I couldn’t be more pleased! Going to make a donation today!

Easy to install.
Wording in the item column is a little confusing. “Show” means “not shown”, I think?!
Some jargon: eg what is taxonomy?

Use this on several sites and it works very well. No issues.

irrespective of any settings for categories/ tags, the post shows up in all the unnecessary places. irritating experience it was to work with this plugin.

I was looking a way to exclude some categories from the WP category widget. No need to look around for the category id and it is so simple to use.
Quick solution to my problem. Thank you so much!

I am sort of a purist when it comes to WP. I rarely ever download plugins. I try to use functions built into WP for everything, but sometimes it is just simpler to download a plugin to do some of the heavy lifting. This plugin is great because immediately after install all I had to do was click two check boxes beside my desired post to exclude it where needed. Very simple to use. very straight forward.

Hello,
Thanks for your work.
But I’m having an issue with this pluggin :
I tried to exclude de category from the list of the categories in the sidebar (widget), it works, but it is also written :
“Warning: Illegal string offset ‘action’ in /homepages/14/d468507435/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/simply-exclude/simplyexclude.php on line 2388”
So what can I do ?
Thanks
