Hello Eric, seems this previous issue re-appeared with version 2.2.6

PHP error log reports “Undefined variable $prod_id in /home/…../wp/wp-content/plugins/simple-xml-sitemap-generator/index.php on line 44”

Which means this line here in the plugin’s index.php:

$xmlpost_id_check = nl2br(get_post_meta($prod_id,’sitemap’,true));

System: WP 6.5, PHP 8.3.2

How Do I Add Custom Field To Exclude a Page or Post

I’m attempting to exclude a specific page from the xml sitemap. The administration instructions indicate I should “create a new custome field” but I don’t see a way to do this.

Can you help me find out how I create a new custom field so I can add the appropriate values to exclude the page from the sitemap.xml?

Hi.
I have installed an SEO plugin that provides the XML sitemap feature and didn’t need anymore the “Simple XML Sitemap Generator” plugin, so I deleted it.

However, when I go to the url: mywebsite/sitemap.xml, I still find it, even after purging the cache and using an incognito session on the browser; so, I have now 2 xml sitemaps generated by two plugins: the sitemap.xml generated by “Simple XML Sitemap Generator” plugin, and sitemap_index.xml generated by Rank Math plugin.

How can I prevent, please, this sitemap.xml from loading?

Hi,

in addition to the sitemaps per language the WPML/Yoast combination creates for me, I search for a plugin that does create a combined sitemap of all languages. Does this work with this plugin?

Hello,

Currently, the plugin seems to give all pages and posts the same change frequency and priority:

daily
0.8

However, it would really be helpful if the user could change the ‘frequency’ to something other than daily, for example monthly or yearly. But most importantly, the user should be able to determine a page’s importance by manually adjusting or changing the ‘priority’. Some pages could be a ‘0.5’ but other more authoritative pages should be ‘1.0’.

Great plugin by the way.

How do you verify that the PU is installed and operating correctly?

mysite/sitemap.xlm doesn’t produce a sitemap, nor a 404 either.

Plugin is installed and active, doesn’t actually generate the sitemap. I’ve tried accessing it directly and by /index.php/sitemap.xml with no joy on any. Is there some trick to this?

Nothing else I can say. It just doesn’t work. go to ‘mysite.com/sitemap.xml’ and there’s just a 404 page not found. Yes, it’s activated. There’s no options or anything for it in the admin either.
