I don’t want to redirect my homepage. So what can I do now
]]>Just would like to find out will this plugin work, redirecting to a new domain url as the following.
so: olddomain.com > newdomain.com (setup on old domain)
Then one would use the mentioned redirection plugin on the new domain website and create individual redirects for example olddomain.com/?page_id=323 > newdomain.com/home
Would that work? thanks very much
]]>hello
I’ve activated the plugin today, and checking-out will grey out unless I disable the your plugin!
I couldn’t figure out how to fix it, would you help, please?
]]>Hi
I’m running into some difficulty using this plugin in our new installation of WordPress Version 5.9.3, with respect to the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg). Without the plugin installed/enabled, I can successfully create and edit posts without any difficulty. Once I enable Simple Website Redirect, the redirection works as expected but I can no longer save posts. When I click the “Save Draft” button I receive the error “wordpress updating failed. you are probably offline”. Also, with the plugin enabled, the WordPress Site Health tool returns “The REST API did not behave correctly … The REST API did not process the context query parameter correctly.”
More information about my installation:
WordPress 5.9.3
Server architecture Linux 4.19.0-9-amd64 x86_64
Web server Apache/2.4.43 (Unix) OpenSSL/1.1.1d
PHP version 7.3.20 (Supports 64bit values)
Active Theme Twenty Twenty-Two (twentytwentytwo) v 1.1
Is there experience of this plugin working successfully with the WordPress Block Editor? Any suggestions on further troubleshooting?
Thanks
Joe
Hello,
After downloading the plugin as zip and installing it manually at WordPress Plugins dashboard screen, during installation complete website went down and now can’t access even the wordpress login page.
I can’t find this plugin folder in FTP to rename it, where are the files stored?
Url: https://www.annalisafrancoglio.it/
Can you please help me fix this?
Thank you,
Jon
When I want to redirect the complete website the folder /wp-content/ or other wp related folders are still reachable and not redirected.
Is there a workaround for this?
]]>The plugin redirects ok, but without exception. It INCLUDES the WordPress admin. How do I stop this?
Thanks
]]>Hi!
I was wondering if it was possible to re-direct a wordpress site to a subfolder or specific URL address, so that I can work on a live wordpress site at the same time — ie, only visible to admin.
For example
If URL is: wptests.com –what I would like is for visitors to be redirected to wptests.com/live/index.html
and admins would be able to log into wptests.com/wp-admin and work on the wordpress site. Then, once the wordpress site was done, all we would have to do is deactivate the redirection. and wptests.com would be the new finished wordrepss site, visitble to all.
Is this possible, is it how it works?
Thank you!
]]>I have WP GraphQL installed and was using the GraphQL IDE until I installed this plugin and enabled the redirect. When I disable it, my GraphQL IDE works again.
What can I set in my exclude paths or anywhere else to make sure the GraphQL IDE still works alongside the redirect?
]]>Hi, nice plugin.
we want to redirect all links of the old website to the home page of the new website – except the original homepage.
We have put a notice, on the homepage, explaining the move and want it to show up for a while… How is this possible please.
At the moment, everything (except wp-admin) redirects – can i add /home.php to achieve this? (but its not home.php!)
I’m getting this error after activating the redirect plugin.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_parse_url() in /var/www/theexcitingway.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-website-redirect/SimpleWebsiteRedirect.php on line 651
How do I solve this?
]]>I’m moving from one domain name to another, and I’ve redirected all the relevant posts and pages from the ‘old’ site to specific pages on the ‘new’ site using Rank Math SEO, however, it doesn’t seem like I can redirect home page that way. I was considering using your plugin for that but I don’t want it to override other page redirections, since they aren’t all pointing to the home page of the new site. Can I safely redirect just the homepage using your plugin? Thank you.
]]>Hi
Someone on our team deleted the plugin today.
When I go to my backup from yesterday and ftp the redirection folder back to the plugins directory, it is as if it is a fresh install.
Are all the redirects that I created gone for good, or can I find them elsewhere? If so, where?
Thanks!
]]>Ok, so I have WP domain:
admin.somedomain.com and I wanted to redirect all pages except wp-admin to newdomain.com.
I found your plugin and installed it. Worked like a charm.
It redirects all pages except wp-admin.
However, something happen and I cannot access admin.somedomain.com/wp-admin anymore. It keeps redirecting me to newdomain.com/wp-login.php/?reauth=1&redirect_to=…. which doesnt exist obviously!
I am stuck and I don’t know what to do, the issue is in the production.
help.
]]>I recently installed the Simple Website Redirect plugin. The redirect is working as I would expect. However, I can no longer access my wp-admin page – it applies the redirect with wp-admin as a subfolder (page). Any idea how to get to wp-admin page?
SSL doesn’t seem to work on this site. I am new to the site and perhaps SSL is not enabled, or there is something going on with the site, or applying this plugin broke it. Unfortunately I only have access to the WP but not the actual site itself.
]]>I want all url’s to my old domain ( https://example.com/??? ) to redirect to it’s new domain’s welcome page ( https:/new.com/welcome ). It appears that the Advanced setting: “Preserve URL Paths” be set to NO. Is this correct?
]]>Hi I’m trying to redirect my old domain to my new domain but every time I put my new domain main in the “Redirect URL” field and click save the “Redirect URL” field comes back empty with a “settings saved” success message.
Am I doing this wrong? Am I supposed to put my old url in the redirect URL field? The URL I’m putting into my redirect field is the main URL for the new site.
]]>I have my site that I am building on WordPress, and it is currently redirecting to my old site (different domain). I have the preserve URL paths turned on. If it’s just redirecting the home page, it works fine. However, it seems to add a trailing slash at the end of any other URL and then the user gets a 404.
Let’s imagine the user clicked on https://www.domain1.com/path/file.pdf
The redirect will send them to: https://www.domain2.com/path/file.pdf/
Any thoughts on how I can get rid of the trailing slash?
]]>Hi there,
We’ve used your plugin and it worked just fine. We wanted to disable the redirect and have the website as it was before. When we tried to do this, website still redirects as if the plugin was still active.
Things we did to troubleshoot:
1 – Set the redirect status to Disable from plugin settings – no luck
2 – Disabled the plugin directly – no luck
3 – Removed the plugin – no luck
4 – Cleared WordPress cache, Cloudflare cache, hosting cache, browser cache – no luck
Any other tips?
Thanks
Hey mate, great plugin and thanks.
I have a URL indexed in Google results without the www and this url isn’t redirecting. Any ideas as to why and how I can fix this?
]]>hello, I have only excluded the wp-admin path a few days before setting up a temporary redirect, today I have excluded another path .XML but the XML page is still being redirected to my new site.
I tried clearing both my browser and Litespeed cache
Exclude paths: /wp-admin,/sitemap.xml
Please, I need your advice. Thank you and Thanks for creating this amazing plugin.
]]>Hi there!
I was wondering, When you use a 301, Google removes the old page from their index and most value (link equity) from that page is transferred to the new one.
I actually don’t want google to index the redirected page for all users,
I want it to be addresses to mobile users.
My question is how it works with this mobile plugin – how google treats it?
Thanks!

I installed the plug in earlier tonight, entered the redirect website information and set to temporary, but now the website is showing the below error on all pages, I cannot open the plug in menu to disable it. It was only a test to see if it was possible as we are building a new website.
