In 4.2.2 when I generate a password, it doesn’t affect the meter and therefore cannot allow the profile to be updated.

Adding a space and removing it again, seems to bring it back to life.

The plugin generates an email as part of its functionality. Please make a setting screen and make that email configurable rather than hard coded as its completely different and way too brief (user unfriendly) for my clients new website

I am trying to switch it to send the user their email address instead of username because that is what they use to log into the server. Also I wanted to change the overall look and appearance of the email that I am sending to the user with their temporary password.

Just tested this out, love how it works and simple integration.

However, the force change password on login is not working.

Also, would be very helpful to have a “show” option for the generated password.

I use your pw generator and like it becuase it’s simple and smart.
i have one problem: the user is not forced to change his password at first login although I tick the box.
Is there a way to solve this problem?

Hello,

I am requesting a small feature addition to your Simple Password Generator Plugin.

It would be great to have a SHOW PASSWORD button or option so that if email sending fails, etc. that the password can be given to the user manually. For example, during a Help Desk phone call when the user has failed to receive the newly generated password via email.

We currently run WP Password Generator (which has this feature) AND Simple Password Generator simultaneously (because WP Password does not include the email user and nag user to change features). This is OFTEN necessary in order to assist low-tech users with gaining access when all else has failed with them.

Both plugins coexist happily except that two different Generate Password button appear on the user profile and the SHOW PASSWORD option on WP Password will not show the passwords generated by Simple Password Generator, sooooo that is why we run them together.

If we do not need to see a password we can generate it with Simple Passwords, but if we need to see the password that has been generated then we use the WP Passwords button.

At least it all works, but it would be nice to have only one plugin to maintain and since WP Password has the nag and email feature, it seems the least changes would be required to add the SHOW PASSWORD option.

When I generate a password, the plugin automatically checks “Send this password to the new user by email” and “Encourage the user to change their password, once logged in”.

It would be nice if there was an option to disable these automatic check.

When I click Generate a Password, email it and then test it. The password does not work. I tried a few times.

When I use the change password tool it does.

I love using this plugin for adding new users! But I have a question/suggestion. Is there a way to have the generator show, for admins only, in individual users’ profiles so it can generate a new password, which then could be sent manually to the user or through email?

I ask this because I have a ton of people who can’t find that first email or can’t figure it out… and it’s a pain to manually make passwords.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
