I’ve been using this plugin for a while now (Astra) and I’m thinking about switching to Twenty Twenty-Four. The shortcode works fine, but when you click on one of the staff members, that page doesn’t look like the theme. No formatted header, content or footer.
Really love the plugin and hope you can “fix” this or let me know what I need to do to make the new theme compatible.
To add…If this is too much work, all I need to do is to disable the click to the single member page as all we need to display is the shortcode on our Leadership page.
Hi! Is it possible to create a shortcode that displays a set number (say 5) of our staff members at random with the Simple Staff List plugin? We would like this feature on our homepage. Thanks for any assistance!
Hi! I hope you can help me. I’m using this plugin and I really like it. Seems to work fine, but there’s one problem. When I want to display only one member of the staff, it displays in the sidebar area instead of the space where the content or the articles should be.
I link an example: https://nyharany.hu/wp/?staff-member=bencze-nora
Thank you very much for your help in advance.

My client recently added 2 new staff members to the site, set them up exactly like the other staff, and reordered the list. The new new members are showing to all logged in WordPress users, and the Order page for this plugin shows the correct order.
However, when logged out, the new members are not showing (they should be between Rosie and Mona on the included page link).
I noticed this plugin is waiting approval for security fix updates, so I don’t expect a quick fix. I’m just curious if this sort of issue had been reported before…
If it matters, the currently displayed list of Members were all added back in December 2021 and no changes to the Staff List had been made since then, including reordering. Maybe this is a quirk that’s always been here?
I’m having an issue with the Read More / Read Less not working on 2 profiles in this URL –> https://www.counselingjoplin.com/counselors/
Affected users are Amber Tipton and Emily Wickstrom but if I reorder these profiles in Simple Staff List plugin then it affects different user so it seems to be the placement of profiles in the Order list.
Viewing the HTML it looks like there is a
right before Amber and Emily’s written profile that is causing the issue.
I’m unable to edit the HTML code in WordPress. Are there any recommendations you can provide?
Thank you
When do you expect to have a fix available for the cross site scripting issue? I assume that is why you have temporarily closed the plugin to downloads.

But I can’t find any option to import the .csv file.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help!
I added new staff members and pictures into the list.
I deleted staff who left.
In Chrome the new people show up (though the images are too large), and the people who left and were deleted no longer show.
In Firefox, the people who were deleted still show and the new people’s picture does not show (though their name, position, etc. do show). I cleared the cache, closed the browser, re-opened it and nothing changed.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

I would like to make the list so that the text is next to the image.
Can you help me?
Hi all,
I’m new to the Simple Staff List plugin and I’m trying to set it up for the first time. I’m using WordPress 6.0, which I know is not officially supported yet. I’m not sure if this is the cause of my problems.
I have a list of staff which I’ve separated into groups A, B, C, and D. Groups A and B have one person each. If I show them using the short code:
[simple-staff-list group=”A” order=”ASC”]
[simple-staff-list group=”B” order=”ASC”]
(i.e., one after the other) I have no problems. Once I add:
[simple-staff-list group=”C” order=”ASC”]
to the end OR just have it (i.e., any case that involves looping through a set of staff), then these mysterious dotted horizontal lines appear across the first one or two profiles that go behind the photos, from one end to the other. The lines appear on both Chrome and Firefox.
The site itself is being developed and is being run on a site behind a firewall (just for local testing). So, unfortunately, I don’t have a URL I can share.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I haven’t changed the default template.
Thank you!
Ray

We need to be able to show the email (as it currently works) or if there is no email link to a URL for a contact page.
Is there a way that we can do this currently? I’m happy to write some code to make this possible if you have some direction about how you’d like it added to the plugin.
I realize you are setup so I could override the template and display my own custom frontend view, but I don’t see a way currently to add a field to the admin area of the site and I note that you use sanitize_email
as you save the code so we can’t just put a URL in there as it would be sanitized and then not what we want.
Hello, and thank you for the great plugin! Ever since WP was updated to 5.9, I am noticing javascript that I insert into the staff bio is stripped out when I update the staff post.
I have been using scripts in the bio for years now with no previous issues. Here is the script that is being stripped out when a bio is updated or created. Current staff posts are unaffected.

<healcode-widget data-type=”schedules” data-widget-partner=”object” data-widget-id=”441704724b6f” data-widget-version=”1″ ></healcode-widget>
Is it possible to update the plugin so it’s compatible with the new version of WP?
Thank you!

Hi
I have to use something like your program on an info screen in the entrance hall in a building. I would like to show the different company names and be able to click on the company name and find the person I need to contact. Can your plugin do that?
I need to know if your plugin can do the following:
– Can new members automatically be put on different lists? (for example we have a lot of companies and I would like a list for each company. Whenever a new member is added I would like the program to add them to the company list. We always fill out which company they’re from so the information is in the system). Or would I have to manually put them on different lists?
– Can I make an overview page on my website with the different lists? And will you be able to click on a specific list and find the different members? Or would they just all be shown at once?
– When you see the overview of the members: Will I be able to click on their phone number/contact information and send them an sms or something? Or perhaps just show their phone number so you’ll be able to contact them?
Best regards
Sara
Here is a long shot since there hasn’t been any recent responses from the developer or any “smart people” here.
Is there a way to disable/re-direct the archive page to a regular page that we use shortcodes? We use breadcrumbs and if you click on a single-staff and click on the ‘Staff Members URL Slug’, in our case “our-leadership”, it shows the plugins archive which isn’t the same as our “Our Leadership”, using shortcodes. To override that, I created a custom breadcrumb. It works, but wondering if there was a better/easier way.
Thanks.
Hi,
Great plugin, but I have just noticed a bug with the Staff page CSS feature:
I have a pseudo-element with the property:
content: '\00a0';
When looking at the code in index.php it displays as:
content: "\00a0";
and therefore does not show.
If I tick the “Write to external CSS file?”, then the CSS works fine, so that’s a simple workaround, but thought you’d like to know.
On a directory page the top pic and info are correct, then it’s off by one.
It worked fine for almost two years, then recently this happened.
I deleted the page and tried again — same result. I have two other directory pages (based on groups) and they have the same issue.
Also, there are faint horizontal lines appearing on the directory pages now.
Simple Staff List v 2.2.1
Elementor v 3.1.4
Template code:
[staff_loop]

[staff-name-formatted]
[staff-position-formatted]
[staff-phone]
[staff-email-link]

[/staff_loop]
Thanks for any ideas.

I’ve had this happen a couple times so you think I would have learned the first time but it seems that whenever the plugin updates in WordPress you lose any custom CSS that you might have added. Depending on how much work went into formatting this can be a real pain. This time I copied out the loop and css and filed it away for the next update, but it might be a good idea to add a warning about this if you can confirm my claim or just let me know what I’m doing wrong. It usually takes me a little while to even figure out that I’ve messed everything up and when I do it takes a little while to remember that there even was custom CSS ??
Thanks for a great plugin,
Nate

Hello,
Is there a way to add multiple lines instead of one long line or sentence in the position field under Staff Member Info? Some of our staff have multiple positions and it would be nice to have each position on its on line.
We used to be able to add
tag in this field but now it doesn’t work.
example: Position: Financial Planning Manager
Chief Compliance Officer
Financial Planning Manager
Chief Compliance Office
But now the field doesn’t recognize the
tag. Please advise us on the best way to handle multiple positions. Thanks@
Can someone give me some direction how to check if bio is empty do not show the link to the bio in the staff loop template?

Before the most recent update I was able to link the staff member bio to the staff member info. I placed Teacher page in the phone number section. This was obviously a work-around but it no longer works.
Each staff member has a significant amount of information that needs to display on its own page. How can I create a simple link that appears below the staff image that will navigate to the staffs own page?
This plugin is only tested up to WP 5.2.9. The release of 5.7 is rumored to cause issues with older plugins. Will there be an update soon?
2 Questions
Is it possible to Display different parts of the provider information throughout different parts of a page using the shortcode?
Something like using [staff-name] on the top part of my page, and then using [staff-image] on the bottom somewhere?
Next question is, is it possible to adjust the id of the page the shortcodes are on by the URL coming to the page. Ex: https://www.site.com/staff-members?id=213
This would cause the staff-name and image shortcodes to display staff member 213’s name and image.
