Well, I took over a site made entirely on WP with some statical pages, it already had the Simple Social – Sharing Widgets & Icons installed and activated but it does not show any icons anywhere, do I have to put something on the posts? do I have to code anything?

When I’m not logged in as a ‘super admin’ I try to save settings and it gives me this error.

“You do not have sufficient permissions to modify unregistered settings for this site.”

what do I need to change in the code to allow access to regular administrators?

Will this plugin be updated?

This plugin is simple and I like simple. It places the sharing icons under my blog posts and not my pages — perfect. However, when I view the source of my pages, I see new javascript and style code. Why is this here since there are no icons? How can I prevent this? This is the code I don’t want:

I love this plugin and use it on several websites. One of the sites I have is using excerpts and in all the exerpts you see the text “tweet” when the plugin is enabled.

I guess the plugin is trying to show up in all my excerpts but excerpts remove all html from the text so that’s why it’s only showing tweet as text.

How to disable the plugin on excerpts?? Maybe an option for this should be added in future updates. The Addthis plugin has this option but I like the display of this plugin better.

Please advise.

Is this plugin being supported? Even the author is showing as “none”.

I know this seems a little cheeky, but can I suggest that you look at my equivalent plugin – Simple Social Bookmarks. It does much the same thing, but I’m continuing to develop and support it.

I’m currently working on a major change as well (read more about it here), so if there’s anything that this plugin did that you’d like mine to, let me know.

I just installed Simple Social on my site, but I’d like to use this only on Blog posts, not pages. Is there a way to remove this from all pages?

I tried to modify the code of “Simple Social – Sharing Widgets & Icons” in order to have the words “Share on:” and the icons on the same line, without any new paragraph.
The problem is that the words “Share on” become AFTER the icons, instead of BEFORE.
How I have to modify the php?

This is a strange thing, but not sure how to fix this… plugin works fine. But if I hover say over the last icon in the row of shared social links. All the others before it lift up as well… if I go to the second icon from the left… only the first and secon icons lift.

This happenes to any icon listed efore the one you rollover. Any suggestions?

hi, i was using the simple social sharing widgets and icons plugin and it worked fine but suddenly, data disappeared, so i don’t see anymore who tweeted/liked/stumbledupon/etc… a post. the data which was earlier nicely shown under the posts seems to be erased and it now shows all 0! what happened?

With the current version of the plugin, the tweet will look like this:
This+is+my+nice+post.

To fix this, a special title has to be generated for Twitter sharing, unless there is a way of telling Twitter what to do with the url encoded title.

I just did a test on reddit and the double quotes were converted to & # 8220;.

The titles should be HTML sanitized.

Using version 0.2 if you “Like” a post using the Facebook widget and then want to add a comment so that it posts to your Facebook wall, the top and bottom are cut off from that comment window and it’s difficult to write in there. Adjusting the iframe for the widget to a height of 40px fixed it for me. Just giving a heads up.

Do these social icons show up in the feed (ie, with Feedburner)? It looks a lot better than ShareThis (and Sexy Bookmarks) — which is what I was comparing it to.
