Simple like I want.

The slider is really simple and easy to style (CSS). I do not need sophisticated effects, and many different skins. I want to code these things myself (if I need them) instead of reading 1000 pages of manuals. Therefore this slider is exactely what I want.

If you’re looking for a image banner, this is your plugin. It only lacks two simple things:
– Possibility to let other roles to add slides
– Should be in it’s own primary menu, instead of Appearences -> Simple Responsive Slider
Other than that, it’s perfect.

There is no way to make it work with a another role than admin (for example, editor) because, in order to save the changes, you have to have the “manage_option” capability to save the data in options.php. Posible solutions were proposed 11 months ago but they do NOT work.

This appears to be a great simple plugin, but I tried to install on local server, and received the error:
The plugin generated 213 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
Still hoping it would work, I tried to drag the ‘simple responsive slider’ into a home-featured widget area and received the PHP error warning:
Notice: Undefined index: title in C:\Users\User Name\sites\Site Name\wp-content\plugins\simple-responsive-slider\classes\widget.php on line 91
Still hoping it would be usable, I uploaded an image and tried to crop it, and the crop feature would not work at all, and the slide image was completely distorted on the front end.
Still hoping that perhaps it was a local server issue, I installed the plugin on a remote server for the same site, and it seemed to activate without any issues, but when I attempted to upload and crop an image, I was automatically logged out, couldn’t log back in to admin area, and the site actually crashed temporarily. After the site was running again, every time I tried to work with the plugin settings, I was redirected to the WP login page:
https://sitename.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fdomainname.com%2Fnew%2Fwp-admin%2Fthemes.php%3Fpage%3Dsimple-responsive-slider%26tab%3Dsimpleresponsiveslider_crop&reauth=1
LOTS of wasted time – what a bummer as this appears to be a very handy, simple plugin that would have been great if I could get it to work.
I also tried putting this call to the slider directly on my page template:
if ( function_exists( 'show_simpleresponsiveslider' ) ) show_simpleresponsiveslider();
And using the shortcode:
[simpleresponsiveslider]
To no avail. Maybe it’s the wordpress version, or the genesis framework that I’m using – whatever, I just could not get this plugin to work.

I used this on my homepage instead of the default one built in to the template. Easy to implement, modify and upload images to – highly recommended. Not sure if it would work if you wanted more than one slideshow, but in this case it suited my needs. Thanks for the great plugin ??

Perfect simple slider that does just what you need it to do: if you want a simple, responsive slider ??

Could you please put somewhere, maybe by the ‘save’ button or whatever, the shortcode, and the function that runs it? I have to keep coming back here, to look it up ??
[simpleresponsiveslider]

Looks good, but not able to specify 100% width for slider. (Only px value allowed.)

I haven’t tried the cropping function but the rest of the plugin is just what the name implies, it’s a simple responsive slider.

I am so grateful to this plugin developers they have saved my life.
I was using nivo slider which was giving jquery conflict with other plugin, searching its solution was just a wastage of time..
I tried two other plugin but I was not happy with them…
Finally I came to this awesome plugin, so easy and no error, slick, super light, just too cool..
thanks

Works great! Not overly complex.
All that’s missing is the ability to have multiple sliders or resize and crop images instead of just cropping them.
Great work.

Sorry, I can’t give all 5 star for 0.1 version of the plugin. Cause, more work to be done.
Like, you have to extend short code for this plugin instead of using raw php code
<? Php if ( function_exists ( 'show_simpleresponsiveslider' ) ) show_simpleresponsiveslider ( ) ; ?>
which is to be found out from developer website.
Also, widget could be a possibility which is not developed yet.
Otherwise, the plugin is nice and works alright on my theme.
