took me 2 days to try fbc on 2 different web sites and nothing

took ages to set up as a non-developer – getting tokens from Facebook etc. Then it simply didn’t work – autopublish of posts didn’t work. Manual publishing of posts sometimes worked. Then finally it locked me out of my site for a few hours – only giving me the option to register as a new user via my Facebook profile, it wouldn’t give me the wordpress login page. Eventually this seemed to clear of it’s own accord, but I’ve now disabled it and am not going to attempt to use it again. Not recommended.

Complete garbage!!! This plugin belongs in the trash!!! Intermittent failures!!! No support!!!! No current valid documentation!!! Unsupported complete junk!!!
Does not work!!!!!!
I have spent days trying to figure out why it intermittently drops fanpage access tokens and user access tokens. A complete nightmare!!!!
Basically if you want to use this on facebook you have to jump through all these hoops and get these stupid access tokens. It works for about 5 minutes then all the tokens break. So basically every time you want to publish to facebook to have to spend 30 minutes reconfiguring the facebook app it makes you create to use this, and deleting re-installing the plugin, and resetting all your access key, and then re-configuring the plugin setting, and re-granting the permissions through faceboook. A complete nightmare!!!!!
This is supposed to make it easy to post from my blog to my facebook page, but I actually spend about 30 minutes every time just configuring this horrible plugin!!!! If you are just using this for publishing, save yourselves the headaches and do it manually!!!!
I am a developer with 10+ years experience and this thing is the biggest piece of junk I have ever seen in my life!!!!

And I’ve tried at least 6 or 7. This one lets me post to the correct “fan” page with pictures easily instead of posting it to my personal profile, and it’s not horribly broken. The few other features I’ve tried are very basic yet functional, but I haven’t tried them out much as it was the publishing aspect I was most concerned with.
Re: the Facebook app portion, the only thing that I see that Otto neglected to mention is that you have to register your profile as a Facebook developer if you haven’t already. Anyone with a FB account is allowed to do it, it’s simple to do and there’s a large amount of documentation online. Once you’ve registered, and you click create app, the info you need and the few fields you need to fill in are all on the first page (basic).

No instructions included for getting the application id from Facebook. Without that key piece of information, this plugin appears to be useless. I’m not a programmer, but I am far from being computer illiterate. I don’t have the time to spend a week deciphering Facebook’s developer interface. So any plugin whose first instruction is “Get your app id from Facebook” without saying how to do that is useless to me. I just want a plugin that will put my new posts on my Facebook fan page and maybe give my readers a like button. It seems like it would be easier to do this manually than to use this app. And Facebook’s app was even worse!
I set this functionality up for my Twitter account using WP to Twitter, and it worked great. The plugin creator included easy, step-by-step instructions for getting the ids and keys from Twitter, and it was up and working in minutes.

5 Stars for the Plugin. Plain and simple.
Altho’ a lot of improvements could have been added. Like caching avatars, serving, larger ones and crop them and the list can continue.
I will add some filters to improve some of the capabilities and if you think their ok, maybe you could push them in a future update.
Thanks,
Radu.

Hi,
When i open my post page it will give an error “If you can see this, then there is some form of problem showing you the Facebook publishing buttons. This may be caused by a plugin conflict or some form of bad javascript on this page. Try reloading or disabling other plugins to find the source of the problem.”
Any body have any idea so please reply me…
Thanks..

Works for me and does what I want it to do. I was especially impressed with the fast response help from the plugin Author some time back. I hadn’t gotten around to ‘reviewing’ this yet.

I wanted a plugin to publish my post on my facebook page and after 3 days and 10 different plugins I found it.

Er no.
If you are a blogger and not a programmer then no – it ain’t simple.
You are required to set up a ‘Facebook App’ which is some sort of programmer related entity. The help page is useless as it does not refer to or correlate with the boxes you’re required to fill in in the facebook app page. For instance enter your url in the box – what box? The one saying App name that must be within 3 and 30 characters or the other two boxes, neither of which mention url?
Don’t bother.

There is no easy (by easy, I mean, without hacks) way to add log-in button to the front page or any other page for that matter. This is sort of pretty important, since you can`t ask for people to register on wp-login.php, right?

Love the plugin so far – it is simple and clean. I’m having a little trouble with the comment box that pops up when a reader hits the LIKE button after a post but otherwise everything works great.
I love the Facebook followers widget in the sidebar and the log in with Facebook in the comment section is one of the best ones I’ve seen.
If you are looking for Facebook integration – this plugin has it all!

Simple Facebook Connect really lives up to its name. It really is simple, and it implements Facebook Connect nicely. Other words missing in its title are perhaps, comprehensive, and awesome, as despite being simple to set up, it comprehensively captures all the features that Facebook connect offers (and even beyond, by pulling comments FROM facebook TO your wordpress site!), and in this way its awesome!!
The plugin also scores bonus karma by keeping it clean, without any logos of, or link-backs to its creator, like other similar plugins.
It doesn’t get any better ??
