It shows only threes categories. It won’t show child categories, only parent categories.

After days of hair-pulling and head-banging on the wall trying to figure out php codes in index and functions and trying to understand loops just to exclude specific categories not to appear in the homepage but still visible in categories page – finally found this plugin.
It saved my sanity.
