Is there a way to automatically add ALL wordpress subscribers to get reminder emails?
I am converting from an DNN site to wordpress and want to be able to auto subscribe all of my users based on their DNN settings.
Also, I would like to fire the reminder based off of events that I create and send a reminder our 1 day prior to the event.
Thanks
]]>When I update my blog, the email my subscribers get reads:
Admin has published a new post on MWIS Blog: CFP: TESOL 2016 Intersessions

Sorry to see you go. You have successfully been unsubscribed from MWIS Blog. change your preference here.
The problem is that they did not unsubscribe. I’m not sure why that last line is there.
]]>I just upgraded our site to WordPress 4.0 and the Simple Email Subcription to 2.2. I get the following text above the Subscription widget:

It seems that it’s incompatible with the new version of WordPress. Do you have a target date for updating the plugin to be compatible?
Thank you.

i tried in subscription_widget.php to add id in
‘exclude’ => ‘1,4’,
but not works.

I am new to this. I installed the widget and it shows up and adds email addresses, but it doesn’t send an email. I think I need an email server, but don’t know where to add this. Thanks

]]>The other day I was having trouble with hyperlinks and was told to deactivate and reactivate my plugins including Jetpack. All of my subscribers were gone as were my stats and now when people resubscribe only a few show up as having subscribed. I did as I was told which was contact Jetpack support as I am assured that this is how to retrieve them yet no word after 3 days.
I am a new blogger who needs some help to get the subscribers back and also figure out why only a few of the resubscribers are showing up.
Please and thank you

]]>Hi, I just installed the plugin and subscribed myself to check if it’s working properly. When I updated an old post, I also got an email notification. Is there any way to switch this function off and only have emails sent, when there is actually a new post?

Just looking at Simple Email Subscriber and trying to understand how it works to see if it fulfills our requirements.
Do the email subscribers need to be WordPress users first before they can subscribe to the email list or can anyone just add their email to the list?
Thanks,
Nick
I get this in my sidebar above the widget.

We would like to keep you updated with our blog. You can always stop the updates by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the emails from us
]]>I have updated the words that come in the email to let the subscribers know there is a new post. The only thing now is that there is a link to my website below the email. It shows the HTML code in the email and I cant find out where to get rid of this. Any information would be helpful.
]]>Hi,
Thank you for the great plugin.
I’m just curious if there would be a way to make all category checkboxes unticked when users choose “specific category” option in frontend subscription form?
Because my site now has like 50+ categories and it would be challenging for readers who like to subscribe only a category or two as they would need to untick the rest of 40+ categories one after another.
It would be great if you could guide me if it is possible to edit the plugin to achieve this.
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
1. When I’m choosing “Specific Categories”, then it still have all categories checkbox checked whereas it should only check the category of the post. Is it possible?
2. Can I hide some categories from being displayed and subscribed?

Puneet Jain
May I ask how/where I can change the text for the widget?
Currently it says “We would like to keep you updated with our blog. You can always stop the updates by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the emails from us ”
I would like to change this since we are not using it on a blog.
]]>Hi
I’d like to use your plugin but I am having the problem other people described. My site is at mysite.com/wp_XYZ/. When I install the widget and click on subscribe it goes to a 404 at mysite.com/wp_XYZ/wp_XYZ/.
In my settings both the WordPress Address (URL) and the Site Address (URL) are set to mysite.com/wp_XYZ. In admin_page.php I tried both home_url() and get_site_url() and get the same 404 (and as far as I can see they should both work).
Is there anything else I can try?
I’m on a self hosted site WP 3.5.2
Thanks
]]>Hello:
I am new to this WordPress thing and not an expert. I am using an ISP with WordPress 3.5.2 installed. There was a simple installation and activation procedure (no code to change or files to copy. i press buttons and it happened). After I added the Widget to my page and redisplayed the page, the following message is displayed on the page where the widget should be:
Warning: include_once(/home/secure37/public_html/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/template.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/norwal10/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-email-subscriber/admin_pages/subscription_widget.php on line 2
Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘/home/secure37/public_html/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/template.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/norwal10/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-email-subscriber/admin_pages/subscription_widget.php on line 2
Note it refers to a directory structure i do not have. the sub dir htdocs does not exist.
e.g. the error message refers to:
public_html/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/template.php
I have:
public_html/wp-admin/includes/template.php
what code do I need to adjust where?
Thank you in advance for your help.

]]>Hi,
Everything works well with the plugin but I cannot unsubscribe in the “change your preference” link in the email.
When clicking the link, I’m taken to this URL:
https://mybloghere.com/?unsubscribe=true&[email protected]
but there is no confirmation, and my email still appears in the list of subscribers.
Any thoughts on the resolution?

]]>I also would like to be able to disable the category choices in your simple subscriber plug-in. I does me no good to download the previous version as I have no idea where the plug-in folder is located within WordPress. I have done all that I know how to do to find it. I tried to change the code but I got a major error so I had to put it back the way it was. If it displayed the categories in the way I would prefer it would be OK, but it doesn’t, so just a simple box for subscribers to send their email to sign up for email notification when I make a post would be great. Thanks for all your efforts and your plug-in.
