I previously wrote the below review, but suddenly the button on TinyMCE has reappeared so now I am using this plugin again and am really happy to be doing so. I now think the issue of the disappearing button is more to do with WP than the plugin
5 stars previously now only 1. It no longer appears in the TinyMCE menu and with no choices to put it there. Now difficult to use whereas it used to be one click.

First – this plugin is great. It does exactly what is advertised, gives you some basic control, and gives articles that small touch of dramatic, professional looking flair.
My only issue (and it is tiny) is that on the home page where the list of most recent posts is, the articles are displayed as pictures with teaser text. The first character on all of my teaser texts is clipped off. I’m not sure if anything can be done about this.
Definitely not a deal breaker, but it’d be nice to have it sorted out if possible. Otherwise, keep up the great work!

My apologies for the delay in reviewing your Simple Drop Cap plugin, as I have been using it for the past two years on three sites. It provides a simple, effective dropcap on every post, every time.
If you’re new to WordPress, then give Simple Drop Cap a try: it’s easy to understand and even easier to use.
Thanks and keep on keepin’ on!

The settings are in board “settings > simple drop cap”
responsive is not functional. one star less.
but maybe we can add css in style sheet…

[dropcap]This[/dropcap] is a fast, efficient way to add the style I needed to complete the old-fashioned hand-set typographic look of a website about silent cinema. Here’a an example of its use: silentcinemasociety.org. The drop cap actually drops a bit lower than I’d like — the top of the cap should align with the top of the ascenders — but I can probably fix that in their css field, or upgrade to pro which is very inexpensive. A character closer to professional typography for WordPress! Thank you.

It’s a very useful plugin. No clutter, a simple to use shortcode and optional custom css.

Simple, efficace, exactement ce que je voulais, merci aux developpeurs !

Simple and very good plugin. Also very fast response on support. Recommended!

Plugin works exactly as promised and the developer was quick to offer support in a friendly manner.

This plug-in does not work properly, and support was rude, condescending and insulting when I tried to ask for assistance multiple times.
Here is a link to an image showing how bad this dropcap looks. It’s floating right out of the line and apparently there is no fixing it without being insulted by the developer.
This experience shows everything that sucks about WordPress.

Update June 24, 2015 – I had an issue with 1.2.6 but the author fixed it right away. 1.2.7 works perfectly with WP4.2.2! thx again!

This is a cool little plugin that is so easy to use. I initially had an issue but the author fixed it in a day, providing excellent communication through the duration of the incident.
This plugin adds a slick touch to any post by inserting a drop cap. Settings are easy to configure and no coding is required (although there is an option for adding your own code).
Very well done!

This plugin does exactly what it says it does, with straightforward and easy to understand settings. My one gripe was going to be the lack of an example of Custom CSS entry, and a quick look at the support forum solved that – excellent all the way around.

Thanks to whoever made this ??

This plugin is very simple to set up and use. I love how I can customize it to auto-format all my posts or pages, or that I can manually delect specific posts I want the drop cap to appear.
I had a question about formatting and the developer was EXTREMELY responsive and quick to reply with a solution.

This plug-in — most simple and effective for drop caps.
Other dropcaps plugins are very heavy and useless: offering the difficult interface of settings, they limit the user in them actually. But in SDC we can adjust for ourselves that is necessary: style of a drop cap by CSS editing. It is flexible and at the same time it is enough of it.

I can put the drop cap where I want into a my post or a page simply by pressing a button.
I changed the color of the drop cap by editing the file “scripts.php” inside the folder “includes” of the plugin, now the first letter is dark red.
This plugin is the only way to put a drop cap where you need
