Hello
I have a question, I don’t know what to do. On my customers’ website, we installed the simple CSS plugin a while ago. It always worked but since last week, it looks very different and the input field for the CSS is on minimum size and there is no styling. I also can not make the field bigger, only longer. The CSS Code in it is now only text.
I already tried to remove the plugin and reinstall it, but it didnt change anything. So for now I only see one solution. Remove simple css and install another plugin, unless you know what I could do.
Thanks for helping and have a great day!

Hello
This morning I could edit my Simple CSS as usual. We did some plugin updates, but not simple CSS. Now I wanted to edit my CSS, but the plugin doesn’t really work anymore. If I click on Design -> Simple CSS, there only is a really small text field that I can make bigger but only vertical. I still see my CSS in it, but no line numbers or anything.
Thanks for helping
I’m using the User Role Editor plugin. Can anyone suggest which permissions are needed to allow a user to edit Simple CSS?
]]>Howdy. I use this plugin on almost every site now I love it that much. However, for some reason and for no rhyme or reason on certain sites when I go to add some per-page CSS edits they don’t render on the page or show up in the View Source code. However, if I push those edits to the general Simple CSS area they seem to work. Does anyone have any similar experience or know why this may be happening? Thanks!
]]>Have received a warning from Wordfence Security that “
The Plugin “Simple CSS” appears to be abandoned (updated August 27, 2021, tested to WP 5.8.7). Type: Plugin Abandoned. Issue Found August 28, 2023 3:27 pm
This plugin makes the GeneratePress premium theme priceless. Without it… I’ll need to change my theme.
Please update this plugin a.s.a.p?
Thank you in advance,
Trish
It’s not reflected on the page preview unless I click the save button first.

For a long-established site with dozens or hundreds of posts and pages, how do we find all instances where Simple CSS was used to customize that post?
Seems like a double-edged sword – great that Simple CSS keeps per-post customizations loading only on specific pages and not site-wide, BUT it’s also a nightmare trying to go back and update or remove CSS that was added sporadically across the site.
A central listing of all places where it was used would be amazing.
]]>Hello,
Does Simple CSS copy whatever CSS is added-in that plugin to the “Additional CSS” section of the customizer. I by no means an expert in CSS so I find it confusing and rarely try to add in code unless I know exactly what is does and I have tested out first.
I added code in Simple CSS changing the color on main nav button. I later tried to change the color again in Simple CSS and I coudln’t. When I checked Additional CSS I found the same code there. I updated the code in Additional CSS and I got the desired effect.
Does Simple CSS code get copied into the Additional section, if so I think I would rather delete the plugin and go straight into the additional only because I am incredibly absent-minded and will have a hard time keeping track of what code I put where?
BTW, I am running the plugin in WP 5.9 using GP and GB Pro which I LOVE!!!!!!!
]]>It’s cool that it’s possible to do per-Post/Page css in the WP Post Editor.
However, if you do this, later you might not realize that you’ve done this.
Let’s say a year from now, you go back to your site that has some per-post CSS, but you don’t remember that. When you look at SimpleCSS’s MAIN css panel, you don’t see any CSS has been added to the site. So, you blindly turn off SimpleCSS, and you are unaware that you have per-post CSS. Bam! Those per-post CSS’s no longer work!
Could you add some feature to the MAIN css panel that would identify which posts have had SimpleCSS added on a per-post basis? That would be grand.
]]>Hello,
By mistake I have deleted all the changes made, I had written many rules in css and I would like to restore them from a database backup, but I would need to restore only the plugin field. Could you tell me where the plugin css is saved in the database?
Thank you
Latest version info says the plugin has been tested up to 5.5.5.
Is the plugin tested and working on WordPress 5.7.2 version? If yes, can the plugin details be updated to show 5.7.2? Thanks!

]]>Hi Tom,
Time to update the tested to latest WP version again ??
I want to keep recommending the plugin but as it is, this may scare off some folks.
Cheers!

Hello,
I have a client who wants access to Simple CSS to make tiny tweaks. Currently the “themes” (Appearance) entry in the admin menu is hidden – which also has the effect of hiding Simple CSS. It seems my only option is to move the Simple CSS menu entry to a new position. Is this possible? If so, how?
Thanks
]]>Hi
I do not use your plugin anymore but if I uninstall and remove it, my file error_log is full of this message :
[08-Feb-2021 09:34:15 UTC] PHP Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘simple_css_generate’ not found or invalid function name in /home/misite/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 287

]]>Hello, this is a sugestion for future updates:
In the plugin editor page, if it would be possible to save CSS without reloading all the page, as we need to look for the lines again and again.
Yes, I know we can use the WP customizer, but its size is not appropiate, at the moment.
I am a user of GeneratePress & GP Premium.
Thank you!
]]>Hi, I feel a bit silly because I just lost a whole chunk of CSS, with no way to get it back, by adding <- in a CSS comment. It stripped all following CSS up to and including the following > (in the line .nav-links > div). That was about 50 lines of CSS later.
I understand this is because of sanitation and I am of course in favor of sanitizing user input, but looking at the forum I am also not the only one who ran into this. So I was wondering if you would consider adding a comment about it under Tips, on the Simple CSS page itself, or if not there, than maybe in the FAQ?
Hi i see this plugin show only 16 lines with the new wordpress update (5.6).
Have plans for a new update and fix the error with the new wordpress version?
Thx!
Hello Tom Usborne,
I appreciate your plugin really, it’s the best custom CSS plugin I’ve ever used. But I’m faced with a problem and need your help badly. I would like to extend my gratitude if you are so kind as to help me solve this.
I build Ajax for my WordPress Site with an easy way, which I will post the code below. The problem is when I go through my site via Ajax, the Simple-CSS doesn’t refresh. Would you please tell me a method to update Simple-CSS manually?
Thank you for your consideration and assistance in advance.

Sunny Chih
Hi,
I’ve customized the custom user roles in WP with the plugin User Role Editor.
Now only my account (administrator) can see Simple CSS on the dashboard and within the page/post editing board.
Does anyone know, which specifc right is linked to Simple CSS?
Tried likely all of them, but my only option was to give other users admin as secondary role – but I don’t want to do this.
Thx for any help.
]]>Hi Tom,
This is my suggestion on how to improve the plugin. I hope this helps. I had an issue with CSS on individual pages. It did not seem to work.??A played around with the plugin and this is what I figured. But let me recap first.?
It is possible to add CSS under Appearance >> Simpe?CSS. I call this the central CSS.
The other option is to add CSS on each individual pages. I call this local CSS.
The problem is when the last piece of central CSS is invalid. For example:
p {color: blue;}
border: 1px solid black
The problem is that the browser will not be able to understand the first part of the local CSS. For example:
h6?{font-size: 30px;}
Simply because it will try to read this as:?border: 1px solid black?h6?{font-size: 30px;}.?This is because?your plugin puts both the central and local css one after the other:?central CSS local CSS.
What about this? Could you program the plugin in such a way that there is “{}” at the end of central CSS?
I tried this and it works. This would make it more robust against a possible conclusion that the plugin does not work for individual pages.
Anyway, thank you for the plugin. I am trying to start a community project and this will be very convenient. People will be able to create their own css on their pages.
Best regards, Dalibor
]]>Hello,
Thank you for an awesome plugin!
I’m curious if there is a saved .css file located somewhere when you edit the CSS within the Customizer Meta Box?
For instance, say I published using the Customizer (site-wide) after making some edits in the Simple CSS Customizer Meta Box, where does this CSS write to?
I’m trying to see if I have a backup copy of the CSS I used in my old public_html directory.
Thanks so much for your time and help!
Warmly,

Hi Tom,
I had a plugin conflict with WRC Pricing Tables that made my Simple CSS window only a couple of inches wide and a few lines high. They have resolved the conflict but I thought I would share with you their comment that:
both the plugin using CodeMirror CSS editor. As a result, there having some css conflict between two plugins. The Simple CSS team should have been more specific to determine the height of the CodeMirror CSS editor. In this way, they can avoid conflict with other plugins.
I don’t need a response. All is good with me, but thought you might want to know for future reference.
]]>Hello,
Is the scroll able not to return to the top after saving edits? Each save requires to scroll back down to the line where you’re working on.
thanks
]]>I have Additional CSS set to modify my themes pagination, this effects Archive (or Blog Page if you will) and Tags and Category pages. I guess this is more of a “Suggestion Box request” and not a support question…Just really wish Simple CSS showed up when editing Tags and Categories so I don’t have to load the extra css sitewide for the pagination. Respctfully on my way to leave a 5-Star Review, your plugin has saved my site from much unused css loading!
]]>Are there any plans to update Simple CSS? I’ve been using it for several years, but noticed there are no responses in this support forum to questions for the past six months.
And the plugin hasn’t been updated for 12 months.
]]>I am seing this notice in WP Debug and am wondering how to solve the issue:
PHP Notice: Trying to access array offset on value of type bool in /home/wp/disk/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/simple-css/simple-css.php on line 214
Today I moved a website from /dev to the final URL.
Theme used: Generatepress
After moving the information, the Simple CSS plugin was not working.
The data was copied.
In Cpanel -> phpMyAdmin I could see the full added CSS code in the database.
When I went to the websites wordpress dashboard and opened the Simple CSS plugin It appeared to be empty, no code visible.
When I wrote something random in the plugin and hit save -> it changed in the database, so there is a form of connection. Because the full css is gone and only the words I saved were visible.
Since I did not have the time to wait until you have the time to submit an answer this strange error, I copied the CSS from /dev manually to the simple CSS plugin, saved and everything works now.
I’m curious, did I do something wrong? Is this a bug? Will the CSS disappear again after an update?
I hope you are able to help me.
