There’s only one option on the settings (activate for posts or pages). I turned it on for posts, and nothing happened.

The author has completely misunderstood the point of having a plugin to “automatically” add the featured image.

His instructions state you have to open each post and save it so the plugin will assign the “Featured Image”. With that much effort, you might as well select the image while you have the post open.

Avoid this plugin, it adds needless bloat to WordPress and does not perform any automatic tasks.

Hello, I’ve been using your plugin for a while, and had no problems integrating it with some of my sites.

I was wondering, is their a way to integrate php gd’s image functions with the plugin? As to compress the thumbnails before setting them?

Don’t know if this that can be done easily, if not, don’t worry!

I have some existing posts which have content from Instagram. I installed the plugin and tried to update the post, but the thumbnail won’t set.

If I upload a regular image from my computer, it works, but I need it to create thumbnails from an Instagram feed.

Any help?

Simple but great, I love it.
It is always a headache when my clients asking about featured image, things got worst after updated to WP 3.5. The clients should select image twice to add it to post and featured image. Your plugin worked great. Only one problem is there. If select image from media library (which is already uploaded earlier) the plugin does not making featured image. Any suggestion / option to do that?

I installed Simple Auto Featured Image on a blog that has several thousand posts that use a custom post type. About half the posts contain images inserted using <img> tags pointing at image URLs on the same domain.

I configured the plugin to generate featured images for the custom post type and pressed the save button. Nothing happened and none of the posts seem to have featured images set.

It seems like there should be a Generate button somewhere but I can’t find it. What am I doing wrong?

I’m not seeing featured images generated from images on posts that have images. I’m not seeing any change in the mysql datatables either. I can’t see that it is doing anything

Hi, and thanks for a great plugin!

I’m trying to figure out (by trying different sequences and methods of uploading) how this plugin choses which image to make featured. I can’t figure it out though.

It’d be great if there was a way to control it. Or maybe even have it chose the picture with highest resolution or that is closest to a specified aspect ratio.

The plugin worked perfectly on one of my sites.
I tried it on another with no results. Could another plugin be interfering with it?
