I posted “Unable to set back to ‘All Users’” over a year ago and had no response. Also, it is inflating my ERROR_LOG file.
Is there a fix for these? Or is there a replacement plugin?
Once you set it to ‘Users who are logged in’ or ‘Users who are not logged in’, you can not set it back to ‘All Users’, just reverts back to the previous option? You can change it to the opposite option, just won’t stick if you change it to ‘All Users’?
Do you plan to update this plugin to make it compatible with WordPress 5.4.2?
It’s an excellent solution to keeping specific pages in a website restricted to logged-in users. It’s beautiful in its simplicity and dependability. I have seen no replacement for it. I hope you can make it compatible with WP 5.+ thanks.
Hello
I note that this plugin is compliant with 4.9.10 WordPress
Will it be compliant with future versions of WordPress: 5.n ?
Thank you
Line 328 of simple-access-control.php:
error_log("oldV=$old; newV=$new");
causes an array to string conversion error when debugging is enabled.

Does this plugin, Simple Access Control, work well when I use https Security Certification on our login page?
I have a private members area and use a thrive theme website theme. Whenever I edit a page using the “Thrive content builder” plugin the simple accesses control resets and allows anyone to view the page vs only logged in users.
Thanks
I installed to my WP 4.3.1 and it works. I need to make some changes. I want NOT to show message “Please login to view this content”. I want completely redirect users to 404 if page locked for not registered users.
Can someone tell me where to change the code. Thank you. Nice plugin
PS: few days ago I installed User Access Manager and my VPS went down immediately. I guess it’s due to tons of requests to DB.
This is my very first plugin installation. Version 1.4 doesn’t work for 4.3.1 yet. Posts marked for “logged in users” only still show to the public.

Hi!
It would be really awesome to have this for categories and tags. All you these access control plugins forget this. What’s the use of hiding pages and posts if you can still access the category page? Sure, and empty archive page, but still. Not pretty.
Love your plugin.
Thanks!
Richard
Hi there,
For the website I designed for our condo, I’m using the Simple Access Control plugin and gave 40+ residents the same username and password so that they can login as SUBSCRIBERS and see content restricted from the public.
The trouble is, any one of those subscribers can go in and change the password and lock the other residents out (this already happened, which is how we discovered it).
How can I make it so that only the administrator can change the password of the subscriber?

Thanks very much
I am running the latest version of WordPress and this plugin with the latest version of the Suffusion theme.
I have set one of my pages to be only available to logged in users. When not logged in it certainly hides the page from the menu but if you type the url of the page into the browser search bar it take you to the page even though I am not logged in. I am using post based permalinks.
Any suggestions?
Hi from Germany,
Your plugin still works like a charm in the current (3.9.2) WordPress Version. What would be nice would be internationalization (.po/.mo) for the few used text strings.
Another two cents: A setting for redirect to a certain page instead of showing ‘Please login to view this content’ would make a perfect sense for this very streamlined plugin.
Very nice little plugin. I’m glad you acknowledge the fact that it doesn’t add unnecessary database clutter.
Like the subject says, I’m wondering if you can escape that message content area to allow HTML?
Seems a simple fix. What I want to do is give users a link to the new user registration or login page.
Thanks!
Hi Peter,
Since upgrading to version 1.4 earlier today, I have been automatically logged out of my site 3 times. Is there a new setting or function introduced in this version that could be causing this behavior?
It would be great if we can lock the content based in user roles.
E.g.: I’m running a wholesale site with woocommerce. The user sign using a formidable form with “reader” role. In future moderation we change te role to “costumer”
To view the catalog, the user must be a costumer.
Hope this is useful in other use cases.

Hi Mr. Wooster, how are you? I am a brasilian internet marketer and just installed your amazing plugin called “Simple Access Control”. I would like to know if you can help me with this:
I am putting this html code to display in place of locked content:

Content Only Members. If You Are Not a Member Register Now, <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>It’s Free!

If you Are a Member login here And Come Back To This Page.</h3
But the users are are seeing that:
Content Only Members. If You Are Not a Member login.php?action=register”>Register Now, It’s Free!
If you Are a Member login.php”> login here And Come Back To This Page.
Or you can please see the actual page here: https://www.bomnegocioganhardinheiro.com/video-aulas

Another plugin I was using had this feature but there are some problems with it currently. Just an idea! If it’s something worth pursuing I will consider using this neat plugin.
Thanks!
