Cant import ??
]]>Rating: 4 stars
First, thank you for this great free plugin. We’ve been using it for many years. Recently after upgrading WP to 5.9.5 (I know it’s an old version but bear with me). The following redirects no longer work
Request:/blog-test/blog-title.html?lang=en
However if I remove the ?lang=en
parameter, it will work again. We’ve never had this issue before.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

All redirects randomly stopped working after being fine for many years. Now the redirected paths just return 404. ??

I have been using this plugin for years with no problems. This morning I noticed I had many 404 errors and none of the redirects were working. The plugin currently says it’s untested with WordPress 6.0.1 which is the version I am using.
Until a patch happens this plugin is useless.

Have been using this for a long time on a lot of sites, but something happened to the focus of the developers. The import functionality has been broken for quite a while now. Even if you import the export file of the plugin itself, it doesn’t work.

Just started using this again after making some changes to slugs that are ranking well in google.
Strange bad reviews with this plugin, there is nothing wrong with it, it works perfectly fine. Some user experience is required when redirecting URL’s and the proper way to do it. Site configuration (such as SSL) will determine how redirects happen as well as many other factors. This plugin simply redirects a URL -> NEW URL as 301 Redirect, that is all, everything else after this point has nothing to do with the plugin.
It bothers me when I see “bad” reviews for a developer trying to make money with a free plugin, this developer at least allows the two notices to be dismissed and never to be seen again unlike many other popular plugins with dashboard nag screens every time the dashboard is loaded.
However, I do recommend the developer fix the example on the interface above the redirect url section that shows an example of the URL.
Destination
example: https://www.yoursite.com//new-page/
Should be a single slash
Destination
example: https://www.yoursite.com/new-page/
Great work, I appreciate the plugin.

This plugin was so easy to use. So many sites used it. However, don’t use it for years and think it is going to be easy to remove all the redirects. If you have a large site with history, this could become a nightmare to deal with. Just delete the plugin, move on to another plugin that works. This one sucks!

This was my go-to plugin for 301 redirects, but with the latest versions, it’s full of bugs. There’s no overall save button anymore, and if you delete (and confirm deletion) a redirect then reload the page, the redirect is back. If you change a redirect and click the “update” button next to the redirect, then leave and go back, the change is reverted back. It’s useless this way.

Simple 301 Redirects has provided me a lot of value in the past. Thankful for all the years. But…
Now it is just a Marketing Tool for BetterLinks by WPDeveloper. I can’t blame @scottnelle and WPDeveloper for the sale (or whatever transaction happened) but the plugin is bloated with promotion for Betterlinks and worse, does not work out of the box anymore while the “Redirection” plugin does. So will have to migrate dozens of websites to an alternative. :-s

This plugin has stopped working, so I?ve uninstalled and trying something else

I had this plugin on all my sites, but since BetterLinks bought it, it became a piece of bloated junk.

As its name says, this is a really simple redirection plugin. It does not track 404 errors on your site (which you probably want to redirect). It does not allow you to group, search and filter redirects. It does not allow you to set the HTTP status code. It does not give you rules to process query strings. There are much better options for a free redirection plugin. I have no idea why this plugin has so many active installs anyway.

Tried to change /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html to /%postname%/
Didn’t work – got 404 ERROR

Not working, at least when trying to use it after a permalink structure change.

This plugin isn’t working. I had set up many redirects with this plugin prior to noticing. I would like to find where in my databases the redirects are stored so I can replicate them with another redirection plugin that does work. Unfortunately I am unable to find them so I can replicate them elsewhere. I requested support on Word Press forums quite some time ago, and have not even received a reply let alone assistance from the developer. Avoid this plugin – there are better ones out there.

I tried to redirect : /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ to just /%postname%/ but when I press save the first variable changes itself to
/%year%/%monthnum%/y%/%postname%/ for no reason

I’ve used this plugin for a couple of years now. It works like a charm. Although it says it’s not been tested for my version of WordPress (v5.2.3) and PHP (v7.3.9), it works beautifully. One word of caution. If you’re finding your redirects not working, make sure you’re using the format /whateveryouwant/ I found that it was necessary to use the beginning and ending / to work on my site. One last note, be sure you clear any cache your site uses.

I initially reported that this plugin was exploited with redirect malware, but it was actually a different redirect bulk redirect add on that was causing the problem. This Simple 301 Redirects plugin continues to be my top option for redirects!

This plugin was installed on a number of sites at my job.
The plugin was hardly out of date, maybe updated a month or so before, and malicious redirects found their way onto this plugin and started redirecting our sites to advertisement websites.
Leaving a 1 star review. I would understand if this plugin hadn’t been updated in over a year, but it was literally a few weeks to a few months.

The title says it all. Works for some links but not others.

Have used this many times, but it seems to have broken. Have checked both source and destination links and simply not working.

Plugin works just as it should!

This is how all plugins should work … Not thousand options for stuff that you doesnt need. No pro or donate notices. Simply beautiful.

We use this plugin on multiple sites and it works great every time. We found it works best if your nameservers point do the domain host along with IP pointing. For example if you have a domain name and point the IP address to your hosting account at another host we recommend you also update your nameservers. Also be sure to Delete Cache when first testing.
