Is there a method to selectively hide an author for certain posts? I don’t want to hide authors and other data on all posts just selectively one or two.
Thank you
hi i’m not winning to remove the by word here is the elements

by <span class=”vcard author”>

·
<time class=”published” datetime=”August 8, 2018″>August 8, 2018

so i filled in this
The parent classes
e.g. entry-meta;author-meta
post-byline
post-byline
The regular expressions
e.g. by <a(.*?)/a>; by

by <span class=”vcard author”>

</span
I have removed author name in WordPress, but it’s impossible to remove the ”by” word that’s left. Tried Firebug with no success.
How do I remove this from my blog?

I’ve attempted to get this plugin to work but it only appears to work on older versions of WordPress.
I am using v4.9.4 with the Scouttroop Theme and I can only disable the author for the various post types. However, when having the post types enabled, it doesn’t matter which option I choose for the individual post, the author always shows.
I’m trying to apply it to the Troop 622 Dev Site.
I’ve even gone as far as downloading the ‘Twenty Eleven’ theme, since I see there was some specific code set aside for this theme to remove the ‘by’ word when the author meta-data is hidden by this plugin. I then tested the plugin with that specific theme and the author still exists. So it’s not a theme issue, it appears to be a version issue.
I would really like to be able to use this for specific posts, but if I can’t I’ll find another way to work around this.
my show/hide author plugin is not working – it will only hide the authors name but not the ‘author:’ word coming before, i want the option to be able to show or hide that whole thing i.e: authors: Cassidy, Ailis (option to either show this or hide this).

Hi, After installing the plug in no settings are showing. The WP isntance is a managed instance, maybe that is related. Most plugins show the setting in the Settings area, this one is under plugins menu, In this “Managed” instance teh Editor menu is not there neither, all Editing thue editor is disable, just the use of plugins. Maybe the settings menu should go to the settings. Because I can’t change teh default settings of the plugin the plugin is not working at all.
Any idea of what is causing this? maybe a clue where to look for the problem.. the plugin is ver useful, but why is it that it works only in some themes?
Hi,
When I enable the Show/Hide Author plugin on wordpress 4.7.3, I have an Uncaught DOMException.
Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute ‘querySelectorAll’ on ‘Document’: ‘.’ is not a valid selector.
Here is the line of code that causes the DOMException:
var elements = document.querySelectorAll(‘.’+classes[i]);
Here is a thread on Stackoverflow that talks about querySelector constraints:
Can this be resolved? Thank you.

I have just installed the Show Hide Author plug-in to remove the Author from the search results WooCommerce displays (I’m using The7 Theme for a site I am developing https://testsite.artworkdepot.com/).
The problem is I can’t see how to remove the word ‘by’. Whilst I have seen some comments referring to this I appreciate it may be different in this particular case.
Search query example: https://testsite.artworkdepot.com/?s=Bronze
Hope you can help? Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
Here is my site. I tried the suggestions in this topic before starting my own thread. I am using the Crisp Persona theme, and would like to try to remove the word “by” with the Show/Hide Author plugin before going in to fiddle with a child theme.
Inspecting the block of code that yields “by Seetha Sankaranarayan” with Firebug, here is what I get:

by

Seetha Sankaranarayan

For the field “The parent classes” I entered “byline” and that seemed to work in removing “Seetha Sankaranarayan”. I’ve tried several different options for the field “The regular expressions” but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?
Hi
I have just installed this plugin. However, I don’t know whether this plugin can solve my problem. As from the firebug, I am able to see:

<li id=”comment-106″ class=”comment byuser comment-author-XXXXX bypostauthor……”>
My question is: I would like to remove XXXXX, so is it able to remove or hide it from firebug?
Thanks
