Hi, I was searching for a TOC plugin that is intended to ease the Writing process.

while in your plugin we have the nice option to select a class/ID, in most cases it will be the class .entry-content which is used for Posts in WP, while the main purpose of using a TOC is related to that kind of content. But it’s pretty nice to have that option for other specific situations.

Unfortunately, as explained in that thread too, All TOC plugins seem to miss an essential point. Serious blog posts are followed by related posts, which are in most cases inside the same container of the post, being .entry-content in our case.
This lead to unwanted content in the TOC and makes it immediately useless.

For that purpose it would be more than appreciated to be able to add an exclusion rule for such unwanted container. This could be useful in many cases and will make your plugin 100% customisable in terms of content.

Waiting to read you soon, giving a possible ETA for that.

Is it possible to make it so that the content link scrolls to an anchor point just before the title instead of after it, so that the title is displayed as well?

Also, how does the back to top button work? There’s a class parameter but no way to automatically insert

There are over 500 articles on my site. And it’s hard for me to add a shortcode to each article manually.

2. Can I change the main title text “Table of Contents” to something else? My websites language on russian.

I have fount the content selector which is entry-content but it still doesnt work:

Love the plugin but one stumbling block: I have a related posts plugin that inserts it’s content at the end of the .entry-content div with a h3 heading. Because it is in the same container DIV I can’t use the content=selector parameter to exclude it. And it uses an h3 tag, which is one of the header levels I need to include in my TOC.

It happens to be the last h3, so I could hide the TOC entry using a :last-child selector, but that seems messy and could break if the plugin changes what it does or I turn it off. I could end up hiding TOC entries I need to be visible.

The Toc doesn’t include any classes that are useful on the li entries it generates. Is it possible to add a class for the h3 contents (the same as used in the generated link)? Any class that let me select by the specific h3 (in this case, with contents “Related”) would allow me to hide the li entry for it in the TOC using CSS cleanly.

Ideally, it would look and work on the front end sorta like the one at wikipedia.com that “zooms” to major topics [large orange type], sub-topics [purple small caps] and ideally [pie in the sky?] back to the Table of Contents.

i don’t know how to use this plugin, so sad, i’m not technically coding geek. i insert peculiar codes like this,

and for the paragraph

the problem : clicking subtitle within Toc will scroll down to below the appropriate subheading, it’s less inaccurate.

Can’t get spy-offset to work. Am I mistaken to assume that it would scroll down another 20px with this shortcode?

Hey James, this is an awesome lightweight plugin ??

Unfortunately, the “headers” parameter doesn’t work. I tried to to include just “h3,h4,h5,h6” but h1 and h2 still show up in the toc.

The CSS content selector is required but I’m not sure what I need to put here. Do I need to create a CSS class for the TOC? I’m not sure I have the expertise to do that – are there some examples? Or have I completely misunderstood?
