Just wish there was an option to open in a new tab.
Work around was to open the redirected page in a new tab instead.

It is simple and easy to use. Just wish the text wasn’t showing on the frontend. But it is an easy fix so I give it a 5 stars!
Thank you for making this plugin!

Using WordPress v5.5
As far as I can tell this plugin still works.
Very easy to set up.

No need to look for other redirect plugins. Works well with Firefox as well. My search stopped here. No need for sophisticated plugins for redirect.
Congratulation to Cartpauj

You can either use this plugin or use a few lines of html code with the advantage, that you can easily edit the text that is show before redirecting. So in the end its easier to use the original html code. Also what i dont like is, that it is not possible to go back once you have been redirected. But thats the same problem you are facing with the html code.

OK so I found a fix. To the developer of this plugin: you need to update your shortcode from the description of this plugin with standard ‘ apostrophes. The one’s provided in the shortcode do not work. Just make some changes in the description of this plugin and I’ll change this rating to a 5.

Trying to set this up on a fresh installation of wordpress and it’s a shame it doesn’t work anymore despite it being fantastic on my other website

Just simply works. Tested on Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
Sometimes I make the PHP adjustment and sometimes I don’t.
I’m using it on all sites with 4.8 (currently). Good, simple and reliable. My thanks to the Author.

Works great after I changed the single quotes that I cut and pasted from the details tab.
[redirect url=’https://somesite.com’ sec=’3′].
Use double quotes and it works like a charm.

Not working!

For the text, where there isn’t an option to hide it:
I just wrapped it in a <p style=”visibility: hidden;’> [shortcode]
and that did the trick.

Just tried this plugin and it works perfectly.

As promised, out of the box– simply works.
I offer the suggestion to put the sample short-code into the plug-in admin description line.
Like:
“This plugin allows you to add a shortcode to a page. When this shortcode is executed it re-directs the user to a pre-defined URL. You can also set how many seconds to wait before redirecting the user. Use [redirect url=’https://somesite.com’ sec=’3′] the url= part is where you define the URL to redirect the user to and the sec= part is where you define how many seconds to wait before redirecting.”
But, that being said, clicking on details brings it up.
Thanks

Performs perfectly. Great plugin.

Works perfectly. I’ve also changed this line here:
$myURL = (isset($atts['url']) && !empty($atts['url']))?esc_url($atts['url']):"";
With this one causing when no url given to redirect to previous page:
$myURL = (isset($atts['url']) && !empty($atts['url']))?esc_url($atts['url']):$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];

I like that it isn’t over complicated. It does a simple task well…which is a heck of a lot better than a lot of other options.

Nice plugin! Short, sweet & to the point!

Works great. Using it on WP 3.8.1 and 3.5.1. No issues. As stated in the readme text file remove line 36 to get rid of the “Please wait while you are redirected…” message.

It works really good. Easy and simple.

A great plugin that does exactly what the tag says – keep it simple.
I could set 1000’s of my posts to redirect to their specific tag page by suffixing the shortcode to the posts using mysql query.
