The mobile nav is no longer showing in the header after updating from version 1.7.2 to 1.8. I am on WP core 6.6.1 and PHP 8.2. Please advise.

Wondering if this plugin is no longer supported? Looks like the last update was a year ago. The PRO version hasn’t been updated either. Looks like the last reply to a support topic from the plugin author was about 1 year and 4 months ago.

I am developing a site and have used shiftnav free to remove the menu and replace it with a “hamburger” menu at all times. Works great. However, the owner wants buttons at that bottom for contact, etc. Just a couple. One of them that he wants is a button that says “menu” and when it is clicked, it triggers the mobile menu at the top. I have been searching for hours trying to find an answer.

Is there a way to do this?

According to Lighthouse, your menu has some elements that have a [tabindex] value greater than 0 and a value greater than 0 implies an explicit navigation ordering which often creates frustrating experiences for users who rely on assistive technologies. Is it possible to add a search bar in this menu somehow? I dont see such a setting anywhere and it would be really useful if the plugin had a search bar. Thank you.

I am trying to set up a mobile menu that always shows the sub-menu items, but the “Always visible” setting isn’t working. The sub-menu items remain hidden. Any idea what could be wrong?

Been trying to translate the “search…” for the search placeholder text and “back” in the shift menu but no luck. I am using Loco translate to manage translations on the site and have create Chinese (zh_TW) and Japanese languages in the app. I can see the two terms and have added the translations but they do not appear on the site. Tired placing the .po and .mo files in various locations directly in the language folder of the shiftnav pro plugin, in the language/plugins/shiftnav… folder and in the custom Loco language folder but no matter where I place them the strings are not translating on the site. Any thoughts?

The site title is showing although the box is unchecked.

Every time I update the settings for ShiftNav, it works for a few days and then reverts.

The title of my site keeps showing up in the menu bar and the color of the menu bar keeps turning back to the default dark gray color.

Why is this happening?

After it reverts, I will check the settings. The color is still set to the one I want and the box for “show site title” is still unchecked, and yet the code isn’t listening to these options. I have to “save settings” and then it will work properly for a few more days.

Help would be appreciated,

I’m using the Fibosearch plugin inside my main navigation menu and it looks pretty good on mobile inside your ShiftNav menu plugin but for some reason your software always closes the hamburger side menu in the middle of searching. Any idea why this happens?

Hi! The plugin is great and I’ve used it on several sites. However, the file /assets/css/skins/light.css always trips up our performance testing for not being minified and a client has asked us to fix it. I don’t want to use a generic performance plugin, so I was hoping you could minify it directly in the plugin. I think that would be a strict upgrade that would benefit all your users. as you can see i have a searchbox under shiftnavs toggle bar. because of shiftnav is loaded after pageload, dont know if this is correct behaviour, the whole content of the site gets pushed down and increases CLS

Target links are not working on mobile. When I click on the link it drops down a white space and does nothing.

Hi, when my page runs on mobile, the toogle/hamburguer menu does not show the menu to users, only the 3 lines (hamburguer). Anyone can help me?

I’m using ShiftNav Pro 1.4 and in “General Settings” I activated “Scroll Lock”. Unfortunately it doesn’t work, neither in Desktop browsers nor in Google Chrome on Android. I saw that feature working in another Plugin but I hope that it’s possible with maybe a newer version of Shiftnav, can anyone confirm that this feature exists and is actually working?

It says “no effect if Shift Body is disabled” but even if I enable Shift Body, scrolling will not be prevented. I tested it with leaving the field for Shift Body blank and by inserting a wrapping element that contains everything between <body> and </body>. So far no luck, not sure if this feature worked before.

I would like to use the shift-nav hamburger menu as the only menu option to display on all both desktop and mobile.

The hamburger menu can be seen and works fine in Appearance > Customise, and clicking “Publish” works – and changes to “Published”.

However the hamburger menu is missing when viewed on the both desktop and mobile.

I’m appreciate any help!

On a site I have recently developed (mijkswise.org) I have one menu in which the first three menu-items are regular pages, and the fourth menu-item is a custom-link to an anchor on the home page.

In general the Shiftnav panel closes itself after navigation to another page, as it should. However, when we are on the home-page, and click on the ‘about’ menu-item, the page navigates to the anchor-section lower on the page as expected, but the menu-panel stays open (and therefor needs to be closed ‘by hand’). This is confusing to the visitor of course. Is this a bug? Is it something that I can fix (through css)?

This website will go officially online in a month, and the organization might pay for the plugins it uses (especially since the site will be enlarged in the coming year, and we’re likely to have more anchor links). But we first need to know if this bug can be ironed out.

Edit: I found and enabled the option ‘Immediately close the panel when a link in the menu is clicked (prior to redirect)’ in the plugin-settings, and this makes the makes the menu disappear in all cases. So that’s a way of covering-up the above described bug, but I don’t really like the abrupt effect of the menu panel closing immediately. So a solution for the bug would be still appreciated!

Can you help with an issue? Google Page Speed Insights is giving the following warning re your plugin:

Ensure text remains visible during webfont load

I am currently using Ezoic proxy services that allows us to implement many key features that Google Pagespeed insights uses to grade our page speed. However, when you enable “Script Delay” which delays the loading and execution of Javascript until the primary content has loaded causes ShiftNav to not work. When I disable this feature ShiftNav works fine.

Does ShiftNav have “no-defer” parameters? Is there a way we can add this to our installation of your plugin so that I can enable script delays?

I am hoping there are some other settings that I can enable in ShiftNav to see if I can benefit from the Ezoic Script Delay feature?
