I’ve just installed this but I find no manual. From what I can tell this allows me to set up an item and categories much like woocommerce, OK, but what now?
]]>Hello,
I m very interesting by your plugin which replies to my project : sharing object into a community.
I m using Buddyboss which is a fork of BuddyPress. I read on the FAQ that the plugin can be integrated with BuddyPress.
Is it possible for users of the community to use it in front end (and not using admin mode) ?
When a user wants to reserve an object, I just see the button. How to give the possibility to detail the detail of the lend? (date of return for example)
How the lender can accept (or not), modify/delete the object ?
Thank you very much.

How do I use this plugin ? I created some books, but how I create the page to show the books and generate requests?
]]>Hi Guys
I want to add a heading and some text to the page and align the sharing list with the rest of the page rather than slammed over to the extreme edge of the page. As I see it a short code that I could drop into an editable page would solve this problem perfectly but I just can’t find one. I’ve tried using css to add a margin to the divs in the templates but I can’t seem to target anything effectively. I am hoping to not have to add text to the template if that’s avoidable. Can you suggest anything?
]]>It looks like development on this plugin has stopped. I know this is licensed under GPL-2 and I could probably just create a fork, but I wanted to ask permission before I did this. If I am able to get the functionality working, I would make it available to others under GPL-2 and, of course, referencing the original creators.
Am I correct that dev has stopped on this? If so, are you ok with me creating a fork and renaming?
]]>For some reason, any time I try to include both archive-shared_item.php and single-shared_item.php, it is only the archive file that is used to render both the list and single item view. It seems as though something is incorrect with the template hierarchy.
]]>Is there any way to set up someone as a ‘librarian’ in the backend so they can have full functionality WITHOUT giving them Administrator access to the entire site? I have tried setting up a Librarian user role with access to the Sharing Club group capabilities, and then granting that to a user along with Editor role, but I get everything on the backend ok (Objects and Categories) EXCEPT for the Lendings page to allow them to see the lendings and edit as needed. Any help appreciated, thanks.
]]>Hey, your plugin looks pretty good. I want to use it as an internal system for borrowing devices/giving them back.
So there are a few questions I got here:
1. Is it somehow possible to disable the star rating and the note field for the user?
2. Is it possible or planned, that the user can define the date (eventually with time) when he borrows the device and when he plans to return the item? So that the admin just has to accept/decline the request.
3. Is it planned that if the user selects the date/time when he wants to give back the item, and his time is up, that there is an email notification to the user and to the admin as an reminder? ??
Best,
Adrian
Hello!
I did all the translation for brazilian portuguese (pt-br). Do you know how can it be approved and become available?
Thanks for the plugin!

Hi, I’ve just installed the Sharing Club plugin. I’ve created a loan category and a single loan item. But when I preview the item all I get back is a page not found error.
I also can’t work out how I’d add Sharing Club to a page, which I am sure is obvious and I’m just missing it.
The PHP error log is logging “Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/sharing-club/sharing-club.php on line 230” errors too.
I’m running WordPress 5.1.1 with the Vantage Premium theme. PHP is verison 7.0.33-0+deb9u3
Any advice on how to track down and sort out appreciated.
]]>Thanks you all for reporting bugs. I guess most of them are now fixed.
For the users who want to make some pull request without using WordPress SVN, you can use this repository : https://github.com/netdelight/sharing-club/
using latest wordpress and latest sharing-club plugin. for no reason, i get php errors and some things are completely broken (new post = blank page). deactivating the plugin solves the issues, activating it, introduces them again.
php error message in logs :
Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Term could not be converted to string in /path/to/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 2334\n’, referer: https://$domain/wp-admin/edit.php
using php7.0 fpm & apache2. wp integrity has been checked, no malicious code. taxonomy.php is the upstream version.
thanks,
]]>Hey Manu,
Thanks a lot for your great work and effort. We are an initiative from Germany that wants to use “Sharing Club” for our noncommercial “Library of things” (also called “Leihladen”), so people can see if objects are lended or not. Because Sharing Club seems to be more intertwined with BuddyPress, which we do not use, we would just need some changes, so we can use it:
Highly needed:
* If you open up the /shared_item/
url or page, you can see the objects, but not their status (like “available”). You only see the status, when you’re logged in. Also the lending end date would be really nice to take a look at.
Maybe we could work around following, but it would be really ugly:
* Objects and lendings don’t need a WordPress user. A string for lender and owner identification would be enough.
Optional:
* It would be great to shut off the review feature.
* The /shared_item/
page is styled differently logged in, than without.
I know, that’s a lot to ask, so maybe we could work on that together? Because I am more used to Git, maybe the plugin code could be hosted on some platform like gitlab or github. More people could easily get involved.
Thanks a lot for your work.
Bye,

Hi,
I’ve installed the latest wordpress locally and installed Sharing Club. Also created 2 test users and added a few objects. I can reserve the objects but when i look at the object page with the other user, it’s not showing the name of the user who reserved.
it’s showing like this: “This object is currently borrowed by . ”
If I understand the code in single-shared_item.php, it fetches the field value of user_nicename in wp_comments. I checked the table and it has a value.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks
hey,
thanks for the plugin, it looks great. the past couple of days i added some translations, could those be merged, so i get them “officially” from wordpress admin (through updates) ?
thanks,
Hi,
Very great job!
It’s very useful for our reading club. small library.
while, I want to display ‘all objects’ directly, then add to primary menu.
could you help me?
thanks!!
]]>I went to https://www.myhomepage.com/shared_item/{item_name} and clicked “Book”. Now it says “You have requested this object.”.
Is it another step an admin needs to take so that my lending is “complete”?
I don’t see any way to “complete” the lending in wp-admin…
Lending date and return date are both 00/00/0000.
