Hello,
Is this plugin compatible with WordPress 5? Or plans to make it compatible?
Right now I’m seeing “Compatible up to 4.5.13”, even though I use it fine with WP 4.9.9.
It seems like this plugin is still useful today. All In One WP Security, for instance, doesn’t offer the fix this plugin does.
Thank you very much!
Merci.
]]>Hello,
OK, ca bien fonctionne pour l’url.
Mais pour la fonction the_author_posts_link(), le nom est toujours le nicename ? Est ce normal ?
Il y a le filtre ‘the_author_posts_link’ qui est possible.
Merci
How come only admins can see the profile field to customize their author url? When I login as either Contributor or Subscriber the field is not there.
]]>Hello,
May I know if it can be accessed frontend(through plugins like Theme-my-login’s profile page) and works with BuddyPress?
]]>How about using it on Multisite installations? Are the profile urls conflict if the two different users set similar names on two different sub-sites? Generally, Multisite setups centralize the usernames. But using your plugin, will be there any trouble?
Thanks!
]]>Hello,
Very helpful if we want to change the author urls.
I think if I want to let users to edit their own profile urls, the permission if ( current_user_can('read'))
is enough(edit the plugin file). But I doubt if there could be any security issues or danger like enabling all the users(including normal users with subscriber role) could cause any trouble. Ofcourse, that’s just my doubt:)
Hello, thank you very much and wery well done for this awsome plugin.
I am coming to the author here with a request.
I can see that your plugin is partially utf8 compatible.
It does accept base author and author url in utf8 native characters.
It does return the correct author page for the url that it produces.
But when I use the native utf8 characters url https://azanet.net/?/?????? not the https://azanet.net/%e2%b5%a3/%e2%b4%b0%e2%b5%a3%e2%b4%b0%e2%b5%8e%e2%b4%b0%e2%b/ url produced by your plugin I get then a 404 error page.
So I would like to know if you can and if you want to enable full utf8 support (display of native input characters and returning the actual corresponding page) ?
That would be awsome for billions of people.
Et puis pas mal de fran?ais aussi ??
Thanks a lot.

]]>Great plugin!
Everything seems to be working, but I get 404 error when a user logs in using ‘get_author_posts_url’. The URL shows ‘author’ instead of ‘user'(my new slug).
Any help? Thanks

]]>I get this error message on WP 3.5.1:
ERROR: This authors page base is already used somewhere else (for a custom post type archive page). Please choose another one.
I tried multiple times and even entered totally random strings.
The author slug part works though.
I do not see any WP_DEBUG errors.
When I deactivated most other plugins, I could then get it to save the Permalinks settings, but when I tried to visit a particular author’s URL, it resulted in a 404 when the author Permalinks were saved and not a 404 before I saved the custom author Permalinks.
Then it wouldn’t let me set back to blank author Permalinks. It gave the above error message again.
Thank you.

]]>This does not update the function get_author_posts_url when the author’s URL is requested (that still shows “author” and goes to a 404 page). It would also be helpful to indicate an actual page to display for the slug for all the authors.
