In our podcast dashboard it shows all of our published episodes are uploaded and active. When clicking on each episode on our website it says no results. We haven’t adjusted any settings that I am aware of. How can we restore our podcast?

Hello!
We’re attempting to adjust a few things on the Castos playlist and RSS feed – we’re using the Playlist widget to allow users to scroll through our complete list of podcasts and play them from a single page.
That said, some of our site’s coding affects the styling, plus the podcast’s summary – not the episode summaries – are being displayed for each podcast. We also have to add a CSS class to the active player’s image tab to easily deselect it from some of the styling we have sitewise (which make :not() selectors unreliable). Additionally, the RSS feed includes direct file downloads which we’d like to remove.
We’d usually use the plugin templates in our theme file to achieve this – e.g., …/themes/ourthemename/seriously-simple-podcasting/players/castos-player.php, but – so far – this has not worked for us.
We’ve seen the customize-castos-player.php on Github, but would really, really like to avoid using regex to make the edits to $template_content to avoid mangling the DOM’s HTML.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi,
We’ve been using your plugin for several years now, and we’d like to thank you for all your hard work!
Since the WordPress 6.7 update, many plugins, including yours, have been affected by a translation error (even Woocommerce and Yoast SEO have been affected). This error only manifests itself on sites configured in languages other than English, apparently.
Here’s the error in the logs:
PHP Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the
seriously-simple-podcasting
domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the
init
action or later. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in ****
My site has been paralyzed ever since because I can no longer add or modify content (all post types), I don’t think I’m the only one to be a victim and the WordPress team doesn’t seem to be reacting so far to restore even temporarily the thousands of sites that have been blocked.
Could you please update your plugin to comply with the new WordPress guidelines?
Here’s what I found on stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/79198701/notice-function-load-textdomain-just-in-time-was-called-incorrectly
I hope you understand the urgency of my message and thank you in advance.
I would be sad to have to remove your plugin from my website just because of this error.
I am trying to show two episodes individually as a sample of a new podcast. The podcast_playlist with episodes parameter displays the two episodes as expected. But when I try to display the two episodes on the page individually with the podcast_episode shortcode, the players do not display. I got it as far as to display the title with the content parameters but the rest isn’t showing.
The same issue occurs on individual episode pages. The ss_player shortcode displays each episode as expected, but the podcast_episode shortcode only shows the title.
Please to fix.
Hi there, whenever I try to edit an episode or create a new one, the page loads completely blank. Any suggestion? Thank you.
Title pretty much says the gist of it – I’ve changed the slug from “podcast” to our own preferred slug, with no change to the URLs of each podcast page, even with a permalink flush.
I’ve perused the support threads and haven’t found anything nearing this topic, though the one thing that differs from the usual is that I’m using it on a Multisite network – not that I expected this to affect it.
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting? Site is currently under development, so I don’t have a link on hand.
Hi @zahardoc!
My feed it’s only showing the last episode. I’m using the normal “post” type to create episodes.
The thing is: the 2 episodes that I have, appear normaly in the podcasts/ page…
Any guess?
Thanks in advance and thanks for your good work!
Are there any ways to add this style?
Due to the limitations of that particular tool:
Thanks anyway
Hi,
We are using the player on our Sermons landing page with a JetEngine listing. On load all works fine with the 9 sermons displayed, but when we click the “Load more” button to load more sermons, the play button no longer works on new sermons that are loaded.
On pages where we make use of left and right pagination arrows e.g. https://joshgen.org/congregations/city-bowl/, the first and second sermons’ player buttons also do not want to play:

Hello WordPress Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I have recently encountered a warning issue with the Seriously Simple Podcasting (SSP) plugin. The error message states: “The ‘ssp-sidebar-panel’ plugin has encountered an error and cannot be rendered.” This issue arises when editing any LearnDash Courses, Lessons, and Topics pages. I have provided a link to one specific page, but the problem occurs regardless of the page being edited.
Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:
I am hesitant to perform further deactivation processes as all plugins were functioning properly until this issue arose two days ago. I am concerned about potentially creating additional issues.
Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to a prompt resolution.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards,

Hi there,
We’re experiencing an issue where the LiteSpeed cache intermittently prevents our podcast player from functioning properly. When this occurs, the player appears to be active (the progress bar moves), but no audio content is playing. Clearing the cache temporarily resolves the issue, but the problem recurs after a while.
Are you aware of any issues regarding cache and the podcast player? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Peter
I’d like to be able to more space in between the episodes using shortcode [podcast_playlist order=”DESC”] as in above link. Any suggestions?
Thank you for providing such a wonderful plugin. It has been a great help.
Now, I am using Custom Post Type UI to create custom post types, and I am using this plugin within them.
Up until version 3.5.0, I was able to use it comfortably, but from version 3.6.0, when I click on the “Upload File” button in the Episode File section, the “Upload New Image” and “Delete Image” buttons in the Episode Image section, and the input field in the Recorded Date section, nothing happens.
I looked into the cause of the problem, and after downgrading the plugin to version 3.5.0, it returned to normal operation. I think it is certain that the changes made in version 3.6.0 are affecting the above-mentioned problem.
I am continuing to use this plugin with the version downgraded to 3.5.0.
I would be grateful if you could investigate the possible causes of the above issue.
Thank you!
Everything worked great for quite some time.
However, a couple months ago, the RSS feed stopped updating. You can see it here: https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/feed/podcast/the-black-vault-radio-w-john-greenewald-jr/
However, Spotify, and iTunes and others won’t update, even after numerous refreshes. The RSS feed is generating, but for whatever reason multiple aggregators won’t pull the new episodes.
If it was just one – I’d think it was that one. But, since I can verify it is multiple (Spotify and iTunes etc.) it has to be something wrong with what’s in the feed, so the episodes are not generating, and I don’t know why. PLEASE HELP. This is URGENT.
Hi @zahardoc,
just wondering if revisions become available in the standard version of the plain any time soon.
Meanwhile, I added the suggested php-snippet from this threat to the function.php of the child theme. Unfortunately, the relevant entry int he wp backend / podcast-page / episode does not appear.
FYI: The site is currently running on SSP 3.4.0 and WP 6.6.2.
Next I added the following debug code to the suggested filter:
<?php
// Seriously Simple Podcasting - Adds support for revisions to the custom post type "podcast".
add_filter( 'ssp_register_post_type_args', function ( $args ) {
// Debugging: Log the current supports array before modification
if ( isset( $args['supports'] ) && is_array( $args['supports'] ) ) {
error_log( 'Current supports for podcast before modification: ' . implode( ', ', $args['supports'] ) );
} else {
error_log( 'Supports array not found or not an array before modification.' );
}
// Add support for revisions
$args['supports'][] = 'revisions';
// Debugging: Log the updated supports array after modification
error_log( 'Updated supports for podcast after modification: ' . implode( ', ', $args['supports'] ) );
return $args;
} );
The debug log lists the following message:
[02-Nov-2024 12:32:20 UTC] Updated supports for podcast after modification: title, editor, excerpt, thumbnail, page-attributes, comments, author, custom-fields, publicize, revisions, revisions
Any advice is much appreciated.
Best,
Jan

Hi!
We’re having an issue with the Seriously Simple Podcasting player on our site. When clicking on the play button, a white circle appears briefly around it, which is unusual. This happens consistently on episodes, and you can see an example here: https://bundlebash.com/podcast/make-black-friday-great-for-everyone-especially-your-loyal-followers/.
We’re not entirely sure if this is a plugin conflict or if it’s something specific to the Seriously Simple Podcasting player. Could you take a look and let us know if there’s a solution for this?
Thanks in advance for the help!

My question is can the feed be longer? It only shows about 10 entries, so on spotify i cannot see any episodes previous to that.
EDIT: I found the answer to my question it was wordpress related not plugin related

PS // YOU CAN DELETE THIS POST, I FOUND THE SOLUTION ON ANOTHER POST HERE BY ADDING A NEW FILTER IN THE FUNCTIONS.PHP
Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to change the URL of the feed, for example instead of https://www.mysite.com/feed/podcast/ , it would be https://www.mysite.com/feed/podcastv2.
I see there is an option to “Redirect your feed to a new URL” but as I saw in other posts here, this would need me to manually generate/manage the other feed (which is not what i am looking for).
So maybe is there a way to change the “podcast” slug somewhere in the plugin files so the new url automatically gets “podcastv2” in it?
Thank you for your help
Hello,
I have been using this plugin since 2021, but stopped uploading episodes in 2023. I was still updating the plugin to latest versions. Today, I published an episode and noticed that the
url in the feed links to rangabhoomi.com/series/myrangabhoomi-podcast which returns a 404.
I don’t know where this /series/ or URL comes from or why. I can’t find a way to customize this URL either.
The main podcast page is still rangabhoomi.com/podcast and episodes are still published at rangabhoomi.com/podcast/whatever-slug-here
The podcast feed that I’m using to submit the podcast everywhere is rangabhoomi.com/feed/podcast — can someone please help me understand why the RSS feed contains the
and how I can fix the 404 it generates?
Thank you!
EDIT:
Addendum: I have already re-saved permalinks in WordPress settings.
Hi, when upgrading to Version: 3.5.0, the URL’s where my episodes are published such as https://www.hcrfm.co.uk/podcast/season-8-eps-6768/ returns a 404 error.
However, rolling back to Version 3.4.1 resolves the issue.
I can’t see anything in the changelog that determines the cause.
Can you help me please? As i’d like to upgrade again to the latest version, but currently won’t for this reason.
Hi
I have created a set of filters for this podcast with Elementors Taxonomy Filter and Loop Grid. The filters work just fine, however if I apply a filter, the filtered posts are displayed without the play button. The episodes loaded with infinite scroll however do contain the play button again – even filtered. I am aware that these additionally loaded episodes don’t take over my CSS for the play button, but that is a secondary problem. For my client, clicking on an episode first to get to a single page template, to play it there, is not an option.
How can I fix the missing play buttons or is there another option to display episodes that way (with some sort of filter)?
My Elementor version is: 3.24.6
WPRocket ist installed and running as well.
Kind regards
Alex
Hi SSP team,
Thank you for making this podcasting plugin available.
I am not sure I understand how to use it without Castos, uploading audio files to wordpress.
What I would like to do is provide author read blog articles, starting a blog post with the audio player, then comes the text. And additionally distribute the audio to podcast platforms for listening and discovery.
As I am blogging in three languages from one wordpress installation, I have created 3 podcast shows in parallel to the 3 head blog categories (English, French, Italian), and activated in the settings to use your podcasting plugin for posts. I also found the language settings – very nice.
Now, on a single post level in the Gutenberg editor, the three podcast categories appear in addition to the blog categories, and below the content I can upload an mp3 file. Does it suffice to upload an audiofile here to a post and click one of the podcast shows?
And once one episode per show is live, will the podcast be distributed automatically to the selected platforms?
What audio quality do you recommend for MP3 files to distribute. What is a good standard to start podcasting? MP3 at 160 kbps?
Thank you for a clarification.
Kind regards,
Nicole
p.s.: A feature request: please make a lower than 1.0 audio playback speed available. This may be useful for non-native speakers in an international context. Thank you
Hi there,
I was successfully using Chartable for podcast analytics, but they are shutting down, and so I’m trying Blubrry. It’s the same idea, I add a media prefix and they should serve the media correctly. But it’s just not working. My media won’t play anywhere except on my own website.
I had several optimization and caching plugins, also using Cloudflare, but I had them all excluding my RSS feed. Now I’ve completely disabled all of them except Cloudflare (but it still is bypassing on the feed).
I’m reaching out to Blubrry as well, but any support from you all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
