I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews? I recently installed this plugin and set it up per the instructions in the dashboard on sendgrid.com and it worked 1st try.
I admit the setup was not easy but after setting it up—email finally started flowing out of my website.

Sendgrid is a scam. Once registered and card detailed entered, is there no way of cancelling. They will charge you every month the fee, do not reply to any supporting tickets. Visit their Facebook page and see the thousands of customers complaining. Everyone complaining about the same thing, no support, not able to login or cancel accounts.

Just wasted hours trying to get it to work…
Paste in the API (with full permissions) into the Subscription widget and just get the error message “API Key is invalid or without permissions.”
If Sendgrid aren’t going to maintain it for WordPress (which they should), then they should remove it from the Plugin list so we don’t waste our time with it!

Been using this plugin for years without issues. Today for a different WordPress installation, I set up a free SendGrid account (100 emails/day), got an API key, installed the plugin, and was sending emails in under ten minutes. Great analytics–you can log in to SendGrid and see where the emails went, even if they’ve been opened.

This plugin is horribly outdated and buggy. Once installed and activated, it endlessly refreshed without allowing me to enter any information. I just don’t understand how a large and well known company like Send Grid could have just forgotten about their WP plugin like this… It just doesn’t make sense.

All the problems previously reported are true, the most recent five-star rating appears to have been a mistake.
Shocking that a $3 billion company could so badly neglect their own plugin for the most used CMS.
Even on a simple technical level, how could they manage to do such a bad job?
And what does that neglect and incompetence say about their service as a whole?
I only tried this because a client is already using SendGrid. I usually use Mailgun and their WordPress plugin is terrific, have never had a problem with it. So, it can be done if the company behind a service actually gives a damn.

It was constantly refreshing the page when I was using chrome. I opened my site in firefox and it worked as intended.
This plugin seems to be great once you get it working. It definitely solved my contact form 7 problem with it not sending.

I really love using SendGrid for my marketing and system emails so it was natural to integrate it with my blog to get more subscribers. This plugin is not compatible with the newest WordPress version and does not work. The page just continually refreshes and says that the API key is not valid because it is constantly reloading. Also, the signup widget complete disappeared.

Not sure why all the 1 star reviews, For the past 2 years I’ve been using SendGrid on my own sites and for clients and it works every time. Perhaps those who were having a negative experience need to set up domain authentication as per Send Grid’s recommendations.

I have used this on InMotion Hosting, Linode, Digital Ocean and it works great. Some hosting providers do block this due to its abilities but if your provider doesn’t block it this is one of the best plugins out there and I highly recommend using SendGrid. I am always informed of an issue and never have I been black listed. I do run a legit business so maybe that is the reason.
With SendGrid I have a 99% Reputation, better than I do with any other system out there.
To make it work right you must know very little about APIs and how they work, not difficult but you might need to know how to use them.

Signed with sendgrid but after first email testing noticed that some emails are not delivered, then in sendgrid account saw info that delivered are less than 50% of test emails – more than 50% are NOT delivered!!!
In account also found following info that sengrid.net IP is BLACKLISTED and when you check you see that IP is blacklisted for MONTHS (last 7+ months) which assure that this is not an accident but sengrid long lasting practice!
How it is possible to open new account with “safe” email service provider but to get BLACKLISTED sengrid.net IP, is spamgrid changing business to spam email provider!?
BTW looks like sendgrid plugin is also abandoned, no signs of life in over one year, completes the picture of spamgrid unprofessional practices and spam business!

I’m having an issue regarding the API Key and fields,
Please fix the General tab, When I clicked the API field the page will automatically refresh by itself. I tried another browser’s and same error.
And please check all the fields that need to fill in the settings tab.

I signed up to the Sendgrid free trial to improve email deliverability – as advertised. Instead, after hours of DNS record additions and verification and troubleshooting I find the shared email server Sendgrid uses is BLACKLISTED. Sendgrids answer? – sign up for the paid version. No thank you – I need an email service I can trust.

Settings page simply can’t be used on Chrome. Works fine in Safari though. Otherwise no issues, but this just makes the plugin quite uncomfortable to use.
