As others have noted, this plugin has been abandoned, and has broken sites’ search functions for quite some time. Don’t install this, and if you have it installed, delete it.

I am updating my rating for this plug-in.
The Search Everything plug-in used to work great and allow my Easy Digital Downloads content to be fully searchable. It appears that the functions which this tool uses have been deprecated since it stopped working with a recent WordPress update. Reinstalling doesn’t fix the issue.
This plug-in has been abandoned and does not work on modern WordPress installations.

When the plugin is active, a backend search on the Orders page of WooCommerce always loads zero results. It’s just a custom post type so I’m not sure what the issue is but be aware if you use Woo.
/wp-admin/edit.php?s=MySearchPhrase&post_status=all&post_type=shop_order

Throws a fatal error when adding a new post with WP 5.3. We commented out the action on line:935 – which might break some functionality of the plugin, but at least we can add blog posts.

This plugin is completely outdated and breaks several other plugins, including Advanced Custom Fields. It should be removed from the directory. DO NOT USE.

As the developer mentioned in a pinned feedback in the support section:
This plugin receives no more support or development.

While it’s a nice plugin, it also create a conflict in the database. You’ll start seeing DB error in other plugins.
This is an old plugin and should be updated. at its current state it’s harmful to your wordpress installation

When this plugin is active, I am unable to filter the products in my WooCommerce site. It just returns “no products found.”
Not sure if it did the intentional searches correctly or not. I had to delete it.

This plug-in used to work properly, but now it doesn’t return a proper response for an empty search box. Just get an empty page with now results, nor error message. Apparently this problem has been around for nearly a year (see user forum topic: No-results) and the developer has not solved the problem.

Perfect for searching attachment. Works exactly.

Needed advanced admin search and Search Everything did the trick.

Perfect. Finds through the search box every tagged photo on my blog while the tags themselves are not visible for the visitor. Without the plugin the photos couldn’t be found by their tags.

Hi,
I’m using this plugin and really appreciate the job it does. However I need to exclude some custom post types from search but there isn’t an option to make it. If you add this option to plugin like the Relenavassi plugin does I appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
S.A.

J’avais besoin que le champs des recherches soit élargi aux attributs de woocommerce et avec ce plugin c’est possible en 2 minutes (cocher recherche dans les metadonnées).
Parfait un grand merci

I’m so glad I found this plugin. I just needed the wordpress search to include all post types, and this plugin does that. It literally shows results for every post type on my site.
Found one bug, still troubleshooting, but my menus are gone on the search page. So random.

In database queries inside the main plugin file are not as per the standard WordPress queries.
In file “search-everything.php” there is a function “se_build_exclude_categories”. In this function author is using below query:
$excludeQuery = ” AND ( ctax.term_id NOT IN ( “.$excl_list.” ) OR (wp_posts.post_type IN ( ‘page’ )))”;
Just look at the query, he is using “wp_post” for post table. Here table prefix for post table is “wp_” which is not dynamic. Author should use something like below:
$excludeQuery = ” AND ( ctax.term_id NOT IN ( “.$excl_list.” ) OR (“.$wpdb->prefix.”posts.post_type IN ( ‘page’ )))”;
In place of “wp_” we should always use “$wpdb->prefix” in our queries so that our query will not break even change of table prefix by the user from wp-config.php file.
Request to author, please update it in your next release.
Thanks,
Sunil Chaudhary

At first attempts – NOT impressed I’m afraid.
I wanted to search comments for a phrase – so I entered a phrase “is there an easy way to output the mp3 file” which I’d pulled out of the comments. It found everything BUT. That complete phrase should have been the FIRST thing it pulled out before returning every single occurrence of the individual words!!!
Worse – I put quotes around the message to ensure it only pulled out the complete phrase – and got a big “CANT CONNECT TO DATABASE” message.
Not impressed – not at all.

Simply doesn’t do what it claims to. Waste of time.

Like this plugin a lot, but it conflicts with viewing entries in Gravity Forms, generating the following error message:
“Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0”
Disable Search Everything and GF entries are accessible again.

Very pleased with the simplicity and effectiveness of this plugin, though a few more customisation options would be nice. One minor glitch, that ‘excluded’ pages/posts become visible in the results if you do something that returns everything (e.g. hitting return in emapty search box) but that’s a trivial result, and only really annoying because I was using it in a slightly non-standard way ??

it work well with my latest wordpress version.
Stable also.

This works great with a fresh WordPress 4.6.1 installation. Thanks. I can easily search through custom taxonomies as well as custom categories. Beautiful.

I needed a plugin that would let me add searching category and tag names to my default search capability. This plugin allows that and a whole lot more through the slew of configuration features it offers. I haven’t had any problems with using it and would definitely recommend it to other WP users.

Works well with my Advanced Custom Fields data, it exposes or makes available any of my custom field data to the search query.
