Looks like this hasn’t been updated in a while – is this plugin still be developed, or is there something else out there that will improve bbPress search?
]]>Hi guys,
I have a forum an one of the branches is private. I use a private page that is protected by a separate log-in and keep the forum hidden. It’s not perfectly secure, but it works well enough for my purposes.
Now I want to make sure topics and replies inside this branch do not return in the search results. Anyone know the PHP for this?
]]>When I search using the bbPress search plugins (both of which do the same thing), my search results don’t include a hyperlink or info to any of the forum topics. It just includes the breadcrumb of the topic and says “viewing 0 posts”.
Here’s the link to the results: https://www.compusoftdevelopment.com/forum/?s=toolbar
You’ll notice of course that there are no actual posts showing up in the columns and rows below it. The only way to get to the topic is by clicking on the date it was posted where it says “1 week ago“. This is kind of an important feature, and I’ve deactivated my themes search.php file to isolate the issue and make sure it wasn’t my theme causing it.

Once the Search bbPress plugin is activated, I get this:

I am getting all sorts of junk, Facebook and Twitter links, the reply form, etc.
Please help!

This is on a local site so unfortunately I cannot give a link. I am using the latest versions of bbPress and Search bbPress.

]]>Something has gone awry with search bbpress 2.0
if you go my test site test.objectsinmotion.org
search for something, and you’ll see what I’m getting. I don’t know why this error is occurring, I’m hoping the plugin author has seen it before, and has an idea about how to fix it. I’m using a child theme of twenty-eleven, and I am using a modified content.php, but I still don’t see why the search results are screwed up.
Any Ideas as to how to fix this?
]]>I have installed search bbpress on a test site with wp 3.2.1 and bbpress 2.0.2. Pretty URLs are turned on and configured as /%category%/%postname%.
When I search for a word I know is only contained in a reply to a forum topic, I would expect the link returned to be the forum topic url with the #replyID appenended to it, ie.(/forums/topic/forumtopicnames#post-286), so that the user lands on the topic page at that bookmark location. They could then see the reply in context and add their own reply to the forum topic.
In my test the search returned a url(/forums/reply/reply-to-forumtopicname) that only displays the reply. If a comment is made on this page it only ever appears on the above url, not where you would expect, as a reply to the original topic.
I love where bbpress and its plugins are at and where they are heading.
