first of all i want to say a big big thank you for the superb plugin – and for the fact that you have made many wordpress user very very happy with your overweheling plugin. It rocks – and id had rocked for so many years.

rearding the legal note that tells us that the plugin wont work as of 9th of March…

some insights into the legal task: – i have tried to find more out and to get more insights. and i was lucky – see here a further statement that is talking about the legal situation. well i think that this is quite very promising.

back to your development. i have used this great plugin for years.

according to german law – we would be able to run reviews in IFrame or embedded fashion.

The Amazon Associates program recently announced that it will end support for the Product Advertising API version 4.0 on March 9, 2020. The program will migrate to a new version (version 5.0) of the API. Unfortunately, Amazon has chosen to remove support for retrieving customer product reviews from the new API. This change to the API renders obsolete the ScrapeAZon plugin because the plugin will no longer be able to retrieve reviews by using the API. Therefore, on March 9, 2020, the ScrapeAZon plugin will stop working.

In an effort to ease the transition for ScrapeAZon’s users, version 2.3.0 of the plugin is being made available via the WordPress Plugin Directory. ScrapeAZon 2.3.0 presents to admins a dismissable warning message to remind you that the plugin will cease to function as of March 9, 2020. Sites that currently use ScrapeAZon should remove all ScrapeAZon shortcodes and/or widgets from pages and posts, then deactivate and delete the ScrapeAZon plugin prior to March 9, 2020. This action will best mitigate the effects of Amazon’s transition to version 5.0 of the Product Advertising API.

If you do not deactivate and delete the ScrapeAZon plugin by March 9, 2020, version 2.3.0 of the plugin will display a dismissable admin notice to administrative users in order to remind you that this needs to be done. Any ScrapeAZon shortcodes that remain on your site will be automatically hidden (but not removed) by this version of the plugin as long as it remains activated. However, no calls to the Amazon Product Advertising API will occur.

Versions of ScrapeAZon earlier than 2.3.0 (2.2.9 and earlier) will also stop working correctly after March 9, 2020. However, if you have an earlier version of ScrapeAZon installed on your site, your site might display error messages from Amazon’s API. To avoid this without upgrading to ScrapeAZon 2.3.0, remove all ScrapeAZon shortcodes and/or widgets from your site, then deactivate and delete the plugin before March 9, 2020.

After March 9, 2020, the ScrapeAZon maintainers will be contacting the WordPress plugin team to formally close the plugin.

As with anything, it’s possible that Amazon will change their mind and reintroduce support for retrieval of reviews at some point. However, there are no plans to resurrect the ScrapeAZon plugin should this event occur. Authors who use ScrapeAZon might consider switching to the GoodReviews plugin for now. The GoodReviews plugin enables the display of Goodreads.com reviews on the author’s site.

Sellers of other Amazon products who currently use ScrapeAZon might consider searching for other, non-Amazon reviews plugins in the WordPress Plugins Directory.

I noticed recently my iframe to the reviews on Amazon is displaying a captcha page where the visitor needs to put in a code before it’ll load the reviews within the iframe.

Is there anyway around this?

However, when I go to the Test tab, I get a 400 error. I’m guessing this plugin hasn’t been updated in a few years and Amazon changed API connectivity settings.

Hi, I am having problems making the plugin works. I have checked all AWS root keys and Affiliate ID, everything seems to look good from Amazon side, but I cannot make the plugin works. I get:

The plugin is currently showing only 3 reviews on the page. Is there any way that more reviews can be showed on the page, as having 3 reviews is very limited and re-directing the user to the Amazon page.

Also, the layout is the old Amazon layout. Do you have any plans going forward to update it, how the layout is currently on the website?

I would love to know if there is any way in which I can show specific amazon reviews by using this product and not a collection of reviews. Thanks

NOTE: As of January 2019, The Amazon Product Advertising API introduced new restrictions on API usage. If your site does not generate enough revenue for Amazon over a 30-day period, your access to the API will be disabled until your revenue stream improves. If this plugin suddenly stopped working for you and if your ScrapeAZon Settings Test page is displaying “503 Service Unavailable” and you know that your settings are correct, it is possible that your API access has been revoked pending a revenue uptick.

See Amazon’s Efficiency Guidelines for more information about this issue.

Hi guys, this plugin was working before but it just suddenly stopped working and says “400 Bad Request

We already checked our country code and it’s all good. You think it might be because the plugin is not updated that’s why it doesn’t work with the newest WordPress version?

Thank you for creating this one and only kind awesome plugin.
It works great. The only thing that I would like to improve if possible, is the iframe height. Is it possible to automatically determine the iframe height and have the iframe displayed without any vertical and horizontal scrolling? Thanks.

ScrapeAZon works great for a year or so. Suddenly it stopped working (today or yesterday). The iframe is no longer visible even the iframe-code is generated in the html source code. Also in plugin admin the test frame is empty.

I have made no wordpress update and have not made any configuration changes. Is there any general issue knowen?

after I have typed in my info for the access keys etc I was confused on how to use the plugin. Ive went on the “test” page and copied the short code which was for some ebook of amazon.com and ive pasted it on myy website. The problem is that I only use amazon.de and the link wouldnt show up.
Or am I doing something completely wrong? How to set up this plugin the correct way? Id really appreciate a quick reply, thanks.

I’m really out of ideas. No matter what I do I can’t get the iframe to appear. I know it worked in the past and I have no idea what has caused it to stop displaying the reviews.

The iframe should appear in my show in the tab “Amazon Customer reviews”.

My understanding is that Amazon’s TOS strictly states that you can’t use reviews from their website, on your own website. This is grounds for getting banned from the Amazon associates program.

Does using this plugin violate any of Amazon’s affiliate rules?

Thanks for the great plugin. I started using it a few months ago, and it worked beautifully.

For some reason in the last few weeks it stopped displaying the ratings on all the books I have in my store linking to the amazon reviews. Here’s an example: https://goo.gl/MvbKiG

we are working on a charity website and we’d need some guidance about text and images in a responsive theme which uses Site Origin (Sydney Theme): we thought that one of the ideas behind a responsive theme was that the layout of a row (images and text) would shrink or expand according to screen size, but that the proportion of the elements would remain the same regardless of the computer screen ? (we understand that instead on tablets and mobiles images get stacked). That is what we would like to have for example on the weblink attached, but it doesn’t seem to be doing it. Is that a workaround to that? (we hope it makes sense, we can send screenshots if needed).

While the “disclosure” spans the width I would like on the product page, the actual review does not and is constrained. I have tried using the width tag in the shortcode, but it did not work either. Any insight would be great. Thanks again!

I am looking to just show the star icons, not the reviews or anything else. I basically need to create a table, have a column called “reviews” and just show the star rating i.e. is this product 4.5/5 stars (visually)? Basically, I am looking for a way to quickly show users that product A is better/worse than product B.

This plugin has been working fine with no issues. I noticed today it was no longer displaying reviews. Now, when I go to test, I receive:
“403 Forbidden

ScrapeAZon could not connect to Amazon or was otherwise unable to retrieve data from Amazon. Please check your Internet connectivity, your ScrapeAZon settings, your country code, and your shortcode configuration.”

I checked my Amazon key and password but its still not working. I also upgraded the plugin to the latest and now on WordPress 4.8 but it did not fix.
