When I activate the Testing Environment, my page layout came to a complete mess, lots of things going on, and it does not shows a thing that it’s just the test env. After a while, I’ve had to come to my hosting account, trough the file manager to discover how to force leave this sh*ty test thing. To leave it, clear the cache on your browser that has the informations of your website, then you will be able to login again and uninstall this plugin for good.

When I installed it and activated the plugin it said it was successful. Then I was unable to access the admin area after I logged in. I didnt have permission. Now I am stuck…

I’m sorry to say this, but this plugin is completely broken.

I’ve installed it and after activation the website return a 500 Server Error.
In Apache log I fount this:

AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.

Later I’ve removed the rules from .htaccess file. The site is back to normal, but now, with various PHP notices.

OK, notices like notices, I may ignore them. But the most ridiculous, on the settings page is show the debuging code that the developer should hide it.

Also there is some other code that gives the impression that the plugin is broken.

Nothing works now.

Totally dissapointed. I really wanted to use it, but unfortunatelly I can’t.

I’ve deleted it, because I have no time to fix a broken plugin.

I wanted to use this sandbox to test a new theme. Installation took a lot of time, while my site isn’t that big. Anyway after succesfull installation I’ve created a ‘sandbox’, and activated a theme while I was “in” the sandbox. It all looked like it worked well, but the changes were immediatly visible for visitors to my site (I was monitoring this in a different browser, not logged in to my admin panel).

So, it seems the plugin doesn’t function. Installation and removing it later on didn’t seem to harm the system. I’ve read some complain it messes up the database or their installation, I didn’t have that issue, but since it doesn’t work as promised (and I know: that’s probably a hard job to code correct) it get’s only 1 star rating from me.

It completely crashed my wordpress when I went to publish the site. So frustrating.

I installed this plug-in because it was reviewed on WP Tavern and it was exactly what I needed.

It never worked – it stopped while it was in the middle of creating the database and then broke my site.

Doing a hard-unistall blocked me out of my site. I did a bit of trouble-shooing and I found that I had to remove the chances this plug-in made to my .htaccess file.

I do need something to work, but not like this, and definitely not creating more work for me!!

super frustrating. every time i tried to activate the plugin I got an error and then the only way i could log back into wordpress was to clear the cache. I was told that I needed to alter the .htaccess file which was no where to be found.

I think the developer’s of this plugin should let you know up front that this requires additional manipulation to get it to work.

Thank you for creating such a useful plugin!
It installed without problems. I tried to create my first sandbox and it failed with an error half way through. I got quite nervous at this point but on a hunch tried again with a shorter name – sandbox. This worked! So possibly there is an issue with two word names or spaces in the name?
But once created the sandbox has been amazing. I’ve upgraded my theme, wordpress to 3.9 and woocommerce to 2.1.7 in the sandbox and am debugging multiple issues. But the main site works fine so the stress levels are low!

My tips are…
Keep the sandbox name short
Check on a shared hosting that you have enough spare disk space to duplicate your site in the sandbox
Clear the browser cache when switching between sandbox and live site

Would recommend this to anyone wanting to test upgrades safely before going live.

I love the idea of this plugin, but unfortunately it didn’t work. After install and activation, the site loaded in my browser without the theme, just a bunch of copy, images and such all left aligned with no formatting. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out shortly, as it’s a GREAT idea for anyone needing to test new themes, plugins, updates on a non-live version of a site.
