My company has been using them for over 2 years now. During that 2 years their plugin has broken our website multiple times and when we give them detailed reports of issues they take MONTHS to fix things even with you staying on top of their support. I cannot recommend them because they clearly do not care about keeping their plugin updated and working with WooCommerce

The installation could not have been easier and the value added to my shop is fantastic. I’ve had several customers ask me for an insurance option, this meets that need and then some. It also takes a huge burden off of me as I no longer have to deal with customers with lost or damaged orders. I’ve found that 90% of my customers purchase the insurance!

Takes a lot of stress off business owner. Have used her out for about a year and even though sometimes it can take a bit longer than you would like to get resolution for issues it doesn’t make a great place for issues that happen during mailing to get taken care of where all of the problems do not fall on a small business owner. As you know even a few small issues can cause a lot of financial trouble when you are a small business. When you’re mailing items that are a priority it is rare that you ever get any luck from the Postal Service and if you use first class there’s absolutely no help. When activated, the plugin forces customers to add/pay insurance for the order. There is no explanation to the customer what they are actually purchasing as the fee is added to the Checkout. To make insurance optional for the customer, it takes 3-5 days for this change to happen through customer service. Then to track an order, a customer has to download the app. Both are unrealistic.

Their app is slick and it gives the customer the option to protect their order from loss, theft, or damage. Recently they added SMS support to add an additional layer of communication to customer communication. We have used Route for over a year and have no complaints.

This is super nice. Once you get it installed its awesome to have all the support and great features. One thing that isn’t highlighted much in the reviews is the Route app and package tracking. Very cool features. They also offer in app branding for merchants.

If you are here looking at reviews, you know Woo is awesome, but requires a touch more finesse. We had some initial complications with shipping plug in communication, but eventually, everything was ironed out and we are ready for the holidays. Post backs are working normally, customers are getting their information and the response time is as advertised. Customer service has also been timely while we worked through technical issues. I recommend this addition to your site.

We’ve had Route for about 10 months now. Conceptually, we love the idea of insuring our orders and the peace of mind it brings customers. In practice though, we’ve had a lot of compatibility issues with Woocommerce and only recently have worked through some of the technical issues with their team. We had problems with order tracking, particularly with our international orders. Route wasn’t able to match the tracking number with the carrier. Eventually, they worked it through.
Their insurance policies are also extremely rigid and if customers don’t file a claim within a very tight window, especially for a theft issue, claims will be denied which equals Unhappy Customers.
They are nice people at Route but seemingly slow to react and take action. Additionally, our customers don’t really like having to download the app to track their package.
Nevertheless, we’ll stick with them for now and hope that future iterations of the app improve the overall experience.

We had a couple issues early on with it not working for International orders, but we determined it was a 3rd party plugin issue and not any fault or Route. I have lowered my shipping costs by using this and by not having to insure each package. However, I sell vinyl records and just want you to know that a bent corner or scratch completely ruins the product. Your coverage said bends and scratches don’t count as damage and therefor would likely not be covered. I find that to be odd. So I guess I’m using this really only to cover theft. It provides peace of mind to my customers so I guess that’s something. I’m giving 5/5 because Route is doing what they advertised.

The best part?
Turning a negative lost/stolen item into a profit making situation. Everyone is happy. Something goes missing and customers still get their purchase (after route re-buys the order from me) and we get an extra sale

I couldn’t be happier signing up with Route via a plugin for my WooCommerce business.
It adds a simply checkbox at checkout for customers to decide if they want parcel insurance or not. I’ve found most customers happily spend an extra dollar or two for the peace of mind. Billing is smooth and automatically occurs weekly. If you are thinking about using them DO IT! 5 stars.

The Route Service itself is perfect!
However, there is a plugin clash, and doesn’t let me access my orders. I believe there is a clash with the Advance Shipment Tracking Plugin. Although I am able to still use the Route Dashboard fine, it just means whenever I need to edit/amend an order I have to disable the Route plugin.

This review is for the plugin only. The route business model is awesome and I wish the WooCommerce plugin was tested but right now is throwing fatal errors. Obviously a deal breaker for anyone. I won’t delete the plugin as I hope the developer can produce a stable version for woocommerce. Until then we must go without.
