Fatal error on line 75 when I try to upload an image
]]>I tried to upload a custom image and get this error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function exif_imagetype() in /home/fairivy1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ribbon-maker/ribbon-maker.php on line 75
Any idea how to edit that?
Here’s what it looked like in my ribbon-maker.php:
else {
if(exif_imagetype($_FILES[“custom_image”][“tmp_name”])==IMAGETYPE_PNG)
I have discovered that my image library is no longer functioning on some installations. For whatever reason if it gets uninstalled from your hosts PHP interpreter or they do an upgrade and fail to add it back in, etc … the Ribbon Maker will to generate ribbons.
However, you can still upload your own custom PNG graphics and they will work fine.
As of today I am implementing the long sought after CSS generated version of Ribbon Maker. So please keep your eyes open for that release.
The advantages will be numerous to include:
So please don’t fret, I am working on it. ??
]]>Nice looking plugin. When there are available so many corner ribbon plugins for particular causes, it is good to have one that can be customized like this. Seems to work OK with WP 3.4.1.
But I see one small issue with the appearance (as at https://italiapa.com/). There is a jagged black edge along the side of the ribbon. I guess this is because your process to generate the PNG leaves some pixels not quite black, and so not quite transparent. I don’t know how you can get round that – maybe by disabling any kind of compression when making the PNG.
It would also be nice to be able to select the font and font weight for the text. My first version of my ribbon had pale text on a dark background, which avoided the jagged line problem, but the font weight was too light for the text to show up clearly.
I know I can work round these issues by creating my own image, and I may do that when I find the time, but they would be better fixed in the plugin.
]]>I accidentally introduced a problem in version 1.31, but only if you use the new horizontal offset. I immediately reissued a fix but because of how wordpress repository works, you’ll have to get that new fix from the “other versions” section, you’ll want version 1.31.1 which solves the problem.
When version 1.32 comes out this statement will no longer be relevant.
thank you.

]]>I hope everyone enjoys this plugin and if you have any ideas please let me know. Feel free to peruse the code and use it anyway that you want. But if you think I should know something, I’d appreciate it very much.
If you would like to join this project, again let me know and I’ll add you in so that we can collaborate.
Oh, and silly me, being this is my 3rd plugin, I still keep forgetting to make sure everything like the readme file for instance is fantastic before committing, so yes, the screenshot descriptions don’t match the screenshots, and there is in fact one more screen shot and well the readme.txt file is properly updated now, but we probably won’t see that until 1.x comes out of the plugin.
