Plugin works with WordPress 4.9.8.

Simple, user-friendly, well?arranged

I’ve just started with WordPress after moving from Tiki. Tiki offers individual delete of revisions out-of-the-box, which is very handy. Disappointed WordPress does not do the same.
This plugin in looked to be just the thing to fix it, but despite the WordPress site stating is compatible with 4.9.4, it does not work at all for me. After editing, the list of revisions is empty.
Perhaps someone with the know-how will pick up support from the original author.
Potentially great plugin gone dormant….

Unfortunately it does not work for WP 4.4 anymore.
Fatal error: ‘break’ not in the ‘loop’ or ‘switch’ context in /XXXX/wp-content/plugins/revision-control/revision-control.php on line 402
And since the plugin isn’t supported anymore, I guess I have to look for an alternative. Shame.

PS Thanks for the really quick fix. Five Stars!

Must-have item! Highly recommended for everyone! It does what the core of WordPress are supposed to do. Thank you.

Good

I like this plugin because it is doing what WP should do in its core.
There is a little use of your post revision -25 dated 2 years ago. You are never gonna rollback so far away. It is totally useless and wasting your DB space. Causes more load to DB engine.
For me 5 revisions back is more then enough so I set 5 and viola! Done. Plugin does the rest.
Thank you for this plugin.

Good and easy way to minimize your databases

always nice to use something that just works. Comes as advertised and thats good

Used to work on one of my sites. Recently, it’s been showing only the latest revision, so it has become useless (and even interfered with WordPress’s built-in revision control).
On the other hand, I have just installed it on another site I manage, and it’s working flawlessly.
Bottom line: I guess you’ll have to try for yourselves…

I’m unable to restore earlier versions of a page while this plugin is running. I get the message “Are you sure you want to do this? and a link to “try again”, which accomplishes nothing.
The author reports that it is broken as of WP 3.7 and he is no longer supporting it, so unless someone else picks up where he left off — RIP

The subject content should have sufficed ?? The plugin is neat, clean, and lean. 5 stars without hesitation!

I have been troubleshooting some slow MySql queries and discovered that there were hundreds of page and post revisions stored from the last 3 years of using WordPress. This plugin allowed me to easily clean up the revisions and get the overall number of results returned down to a manageable level. The outcome was a noticeable reduction in load time on the pages that had the most revisions.

Absolutely essentail, extreme easy to set up, runs flawless

This plugin allows me to set a fixed limit on Page and Post revisions. This is a simple, and automatic way to keep the database clean by limiting the size of revision files.

Provides little more than the basic WP 3.6 functions
]]>Rating: 5 stars
It could be a little better but good as-is

The plugin works great, but it’s got a small bug.
I ultimately found that if you select “Do not store Revisions” that the “Preview Changes” button no longer works on posts which have been published. — Posts which are not yet published work fine, regardless of the number of revisions selected.
Workaround:
Change the master settings of the plugin to keep 2 revisions (which restores the “Preview Changes” functionality).
Hopefully an update to the plugin will fix the issue, but this plugin hasn’t been updated in quite a while so it’s doubtful.

Another of those plugins that provide a functionality that should have been part of WP out of the box. An extensive revision history is often not necessary on single-user websites. It is better to disable it completely or limit history depth in order to reduce database overhead and keep things simple! Highly recommended plugin!

I like this plugin a lot because it’s an easy way to hand off a website to a client without the need to return to manually delete saved revisions.

Protect your clients from themselves and save backup size. This is the perfect solution. Works Great A+++
