Unfortunately, WordPress administrators do not deal with this at all, and all it takes is one careless editor and the administrator has a lot to do for many hours. With this plugin, servers are no longer filled with unnecessary giant images that are ultimately useless and just lie dead on the server and take up space. Lots of space.

I have been using it on all my WordPress sites for a long time.

This plugin is great – thank you! Some of my clients are not technically savvy, nor do they own photo editing software so this is a great for them …and for me – because their accounts are not bloating on my VPS, where space is at a premium. Bye-bye to 5-6 MB image uploads. I can now set the image width/height and image quality to allow me to shoot for 200-400 kb per image.

Отличный плагин, сжимающий загружаемые изображения.
Больше не надо использовать photoshop или другие редакторы перед загрузкой.
Есть комбайны типа Smush Image Compression, но они тяжелы и не удобны в пользовании.
Здесь же минимум кода, максимум пользы.
The author, do not complicate the plugin. No need for new features.

UPDATE: Thanks to a quick response from the plugin author, I was able to deploy the updated version of this plugin. The advertisements are contained to the plugin-specific pages and no longer appear across the rest of the admin dashboard pages.
A recent update to this plugin started injecting adware into the admin dashboard. There are advertisements at the top of every dashboard page for ShortPixel Image Optimizer and Modula WordPress Photo Gallery. This is a violation of the WordPress Plugin Guidelines.

I was alerted to this problem by site admins at my university who were confused by these advertisements and asking our support staff if they should install these plugins. (They cannot, of course. We use a dev/test/production environment and version control system, and plugins cannot be installed directly on the production server).

Before using this plugin, I used to resize using paint.net and upload. Even though, I love paint.net and the process, it was more time consuming and a laptop is needed to upload. Now, using this plugin, I can directly upload from my mobile phone. There are many other complex plugins that does the same thing. What I like about this plugin, is it’s simplicity.

It’s nice to have a top-notch plugin show up at the top of a WP plugin repository search for the keywords: “resize image uploads” and it DOES EXACTLY THAT – very well, I might add.
I personally installed Image Magick on my server to help reduce WP memory usage, even though I never saw a slowdown without it, and I’ve been uploading iPhone HDR images in the 5mb range (3200×2000-ish) and resizing them to 1000×900 with a 70% JPEG compression and they look FANTASTIC!
Oh, did I mention that I also use S3 Offload AND WP Smush-It and they don’t clash?!? Talk about having your cake and eating it too.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
