Hello, I really like your plugin, but even If I set the JPEG compression level to 100, images, which are resized to requested max. width or height (set in your plugin), these pictures have a very log (compressed) quality. Is there any way how I can set compression to the even higher level, or disable it (for example via functions.php)? Because I didn’t find any other options in plugin to fix this.
]]>Hi,
when I enable the option to force JPEG re-compression, images are rotated if the original rotation is specified in EXIF data.
I would expect the plugin to preserve that rotation when re-compressing.
It is possible to preserve the rotation while still deleting the exif data that I can see in an old post that most of your user want?
]]>Hello, I have two websites using this plugin. One – php version 7.4 and one – version 8.0. The plugin doesn’t work on second one. Anyone has similar problem?
]]>Good Day,
Does your plugin also resize existing (not uploaded) images contained in the media library? If so, what happens to the existing images during the resizing process?
Thank you!

Update: Disregard this topic. Found the answer in your FAQ Section. This plugin DOES NOT resize existing images contained in the media library.
]]>Hi. I have a Peepso installation as a social club for people who love cactus plants. I never launched it because Peepso told me the image size uploaded by members can’t be controlled. And I didn’t want to pay huge fees to my web host for others to upload giant images.
I discovered your plugin the other day, and I wonder if it would work to limit image size (proportionately: not cropping) for ALL users of a Peepso social installation.
Thanks for your time.

Is it possible to use only for the JPG or PNG also possible to use?
]]>Is Resize Image After Upload compatible with mysql 8.0 and php 8+
]]>Hello,
We tried your plugin and it seems to work fine when we upload images via the Media Library.
Our clients however don’t have access to the Media Library and upload their images directly from within the Buddyboss platform (a WP social community plugin). I tried it there but the image doesn’t get resized/compressed.
Is there a way so we can use your plugin for our clients so their uploaded images in Buddyboss get resized/compressed?
Thank you,
Luc
When will WebP file resizing be added to this plugin?
It would really be smart to have that as an option in it so that another plugin does not need to be used to process WebP version of images.
Hello,
I’m looking for a plugin to do just the opposite as this one, instead of resize large images, I need to resize images shorter than Xpx to a minimum width on upload.
Is there any way modifiying a bit this plugin to do that?
I don’t know if that’s a lot more complex, the plugin already do the resize to a concrete px, but it ignores images shorter than the size, what I need its resize shorter ones and ignore larger ones.
Thanks
]]>Hi
I’m new to WordPress so still figuring things out. Using 6.1.1 with Rocket.net and Kadence theme. Site still under construction in staging area.
Installed and activated the plug in. Set resizing options to 1600 width x 0 height (also tried with 1600 w and 1600 h) and 70 compression. Hit ‘update options’
Dragged image that is 1020 x 1020 and 144kb into media library. Once uploaded, clicked on image and dimensions and size are same.
Tried deactivating the following plug ins incase of conflict but made no difference: Auto optimize, Folders, WP Fastest Cache.
Can’t work out what I am doing wrong.
]]>Hi,
The plugin seems to be breaking MP4 video file upload functionality. I tested on various environments, but the result is always the same. Deactivating the plugin resumes normal behaviour.
The error is:
Unexpected response from the server. The file may have been uploaded successfully. Check in the Media Library or reload the page.
The file actually does get uploaded to the server, but is not visible in media library even after reloading the page.
Are you able to replicate this issue on your end?
Best,

]]>Hello,
I am quite confused the function of this plugin.
What?
Yes, I understand what it is used for.
When
But, when? when the images will be resized? Upon upload, or after upload?
If images are resized after upload, does it work automatically?
How?
So, how it works? is there any manual button to trigger resizing?
The most important question is: does it crop the image to be a set ratio?
Thanks
]]>This plugin is used to reduce the size of an image. An important parameter is the JPEG compression level. However, it only works on uploaded images, not thumbnails. The default jpeg quality in WordPress is 82. If I set it to 70 in plugin options, there are times when some thumbnails are larger than the original (resized and recompressed) image.
I propose an additional option to the compression level: “apply also to thumbnails”. It should be as simple as that
add_filter( 'jpeg_quality', create_function( '', 'return intval(get_option('jr_resizeupload_quality'));' ) );
Hi there,
How I can fix this error?
PHP Warning: imagecreatefrompng(): gd-png: libpng warning: Interlace handling should be turned on when using png_read_image in /kunffder/gamff/fff/public/wp-content/plugins/resize-image-after-upload/resize-image-after-upload.php on line 560

]]>Hi there,
I was wondering if this plugin is compatible with your ‘Adaptive Images’ plugin?
So all images on the server are resized to reduce size and therefore storage on my server, and are then (resized and) served by your CDN via the ‘Adaptive Images’ plugin.
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
is this plugin still maintained? It sais compatible with 5.7, while 5.8 is out since a long time now.
If not how can we get the original file? Uncompressed version.

The plugin doesn’t work if the images are imported through an xml file (eg. with WP All Import). It seems it works only with images uploaded manually.

Why is it not working?
