Please provide a code snippet to remove the query string added to each URL.
Consider adding a setting to disable the feature as some users do like plugins modifying urls.
Thanks ??
]]>When this plugin is installed and you have SVG images in the Media Gallery, it breaks displaying them.
]]>I have others working in the Media Library which I do want doing anything other replacing an image. The AI button can lead to problems and the warning message adds to much emphasis.
A settings page that allows the administrator to hide the AI button and warning would be ideal.
Lastly, a role level setting could be nice additional feature as well.
]]>As in the topic. It would be great to provide info which image file was “changed” to handle caches purge (cloudflare varnish).
]]>My name is Milo and I’m not having luck getting the Replace Image plug-in to work. When I say to replace something, it merely adds the second file, not overlays it. So the original file URL is not replaced. Can’t figure out what I could be doing wrong when I watch videos of how this plug-in SHOULD work.
To help, I made this short video (https://youtu.be/SUQ4LHBXb0s) that shows me going through the steps and the file not replacing. Would you be so kind as to watch it and see if you can see anything I’m doing wrong? It’s only 1-? minutes. Thank you!
In case it’s helpful, the URL of the original file is: https://thecmg.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/test-to-delete-1.pdf and the file to replace it is almost identical, ending with “test-to-delete-2.pdf” .
I actually found someone on YouTube who made a video about how great this plug-in and shared what I was going through with her. She was stumped and suggested writing you directly. … Please know that I’m not super techy at all. I’m not even the webmaster of this site. I just do some minor things to it, like post images and PDFs that members of the organization might want to see. Thank you!!!
]]>HI, it seems that Image Replace not work with webp format when I replace the image seems to work but then when I verify the image is still in jpg …
Any Idea?
Using wordpress 5.8.3
disabled my Cache Plugin (WP Rocket) before activating this plugin.
Tried to change an image (replace) and it didn’t changed.
It looked as it was replaced but after clicking in the image URL is opened the same old image.
Then I renamed the image file in my computer and replaced eg (image.jpg to image2.jpg).
Same issue.
Tried to click “save” at the image page and nothing changed. After click the image URL it showed the same old image.

]]>Hi, is it possible to drag and drop in the file of the same name to replace a file without using the replace button.
]]>Hi,
Thanks for what has been a really handy plugin! I was planning on using it during a local WP Meetup next week, but found it’s no longer working as expected.
The “Replace Image” button shows up and the new image is uploaded to the media library. However, the old image still remains in the media library and posts that are using that image (ie, as a featured image) are not updated to reflect the URL of the replacement image.
I’ve used the plugin successfully before, and have revisited the instructions, just to be sure something hadn’t changed.
It looks like there’s not much activity here on the forum, hope you find this message!
Thanks.
]]>On a freshly installed, empty WordPress it just doesn’t work. After clicking the “Replace Image” button I’ve got just a new image in the Media Library.
]]>Dear developer, i already deactivated all cache plug-in and browser cache but still doesn’t work, please fix it, thanks.
]]>New Photos show in media library. New photos show in my WP Estore –
WP Estore support states it a cache problem with browser, but I do not agree.
I feel the WP Estore and Your Plugin have a conflict somewhere.
Problem: Old photos come up first and then start changing before your eyes to new shirt photos with the white background. Old photos have dark background.
This happens on my IPAD, Windows 10 tablet, IMAC, Android phone & Windows 10 PC. If I clear my browser history/cache the same things happens again. Old photos pop up and then start changing to new photos on all devices.
I have five different devices looking at this website. IMac, Ipad, Android phone, Windows 10 tablet, Windows 10 PC.
The cache is cleared on my site and on my computers. Worked with Apple support to make sure cache was cleared on my IMAC.
Click on the different links for the different sizes of T-Shirts for testing. The different links show different results.
]]>In Edge and Internet Explorer on Win 10 Creator.
Was once a great plugin, but now it hangs and does not complete. Pity.
]]>I have successfully replaced images but the thumbnails in the gallery are not updating. I’ve tried clearing my browser’s cache and flushing the site’s cache. I don’t have any plugins that hold the cache either. Any ideas as to how to fix this?
]]>Just installed direct from wordpress – it installs but will not activate.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in ../wp-content/plugins/replace-image/hm-replace-image.php on line 49
]]>Got an undefined offset on Line 100. Looked into it without indexes and got only just “Undefiniert” (what is german for “undefined”). So it can’t be the real undefined and was an value.
I decided to check if the first offset is set and if not, that the $attr should accessed without the offsets.
add_filter('wp_get_attachment_image_src', 'hm_replace_image_get_attachment_image_src');
function hm_replace_image_get_attachment_image_src($attr) {
if (is_admin()) {
if(isset($attr[0])) $attr[0] .= (strpos($attr[0], '?') === false ? '?' : '&').'_t='.time(); else
$attr .= (strpos($attr , '?') === false ? '?' : '&').'_t='.time();
}
return $attr;

I have replaced many images (over 300) and all but a few worked well. I have a few where a blank white space appears in the post where the image should be. I have a few others that still show a broken image. If I click in the white space or on the broken image it will take me to the Attachment Page with the image.
This post https://mukkovejohnson.com/just-because/my-life-august/ has an example of both.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
I installed your plugin and tried several times to replace images. If I uploaded the image first so I could select it from the library it replaced the image one time. The other times the image I choose to replace the broken one disappeared but I still have a broken image.
I tried refreshing the page, still no new image.
I hope there is a simple solution. Your plugin could save me HOURS if I can get it to work consistently.
Hello dear
I am testing the plugin and after activation the uploader multimedia disabled the uploads
Thanks for support
