It does not work on WP 5.2.2

I have a very simple and very small blog. This plugin worked perfectly for making a static archive copy of it. I had to manually copy the theme because the plugin doesn’t seem to cover that. Otherwise, it worked well. It can be a bit confusing to use but eventually does what it promises.

Ruined my site!
Even i only tried the demo mode… it changed the wordpress site itself and i could not access any parts of my blog.
I managed to get my blog back to previous state by deactivate all plugins from ftp by renaming plugin to plugin_
Then by ftp also i copied all files from my previous blog to /wp-content/plugins/really-static/static/ then i could get into my wp-admin and the old deleted plugins was back plus the new ones was not there so i could safely delete it and go back to my previous site.
Hope you can get rid of it too good luck. And for everyone else stay away.

Hello All,
I used this plugin once, and it messed up my sitemap. I couldn’t get support in my topic. He didn’t reply, or even didn’t see probably..
Anyway he does not have to help us, but Please be Aware that plugin is not Complete, and missing.
Even if you totally remove the plugin, the damage on sitemap stays. It is adding another sitemap xml for viewing it, and plugin is changing it’s url to a static one, when you remove the plugin, it does not revert, so your sitemap will be never working anymore, at the end i used totally different way for my sitemap.
Stay away from this plugin, because it is not complete, and makes troubles..

I donated a euro because I’m really needing a straightforward way of saving WordPress pages as static html, and then migrating those to S3.
A day of playing with it later, I’m a bit closer, but I think I’ll ultimately abandon this plugin.
a. It has like three unrelated user journeys for configuring the thing, the most important of which is really obfuscated. If you don’t know exactly what you’re doing, prepare for frustration.
b. Even after I got it working, my users reported that updating pages didn’t update the static version.
c. What little documentation it has is misleading, and parts aren’t in English.
d. The “Template Copyier” [sic] plugin appears to be incompatible with the S3 plugin.
e. Some UI elements look like they were created in MSPaint.
f. What promise the plugin shows is mitigated by the fact it’s donationware, and so consequently won’t ever receive the level of community support that a FLOSS project would.
My advice to the author would be to drop the pointless donationware nonsense, license the thing as GPLv3 and then maintain it on GitHub.

For example in a Real Estate site it can search by location/price/type/bedroom number etc, text search is not a good idea.
Thanks.

Search does not seem to work without an actual WordPress installation. It would be nice if it can work with Google Custom Search.
I am using Disqus for the comments so I won’t need that functionality on WordPress.
It needs better translation to English.

Thanks for developing this plugin! I’m using it to make an archive of a site I developed.
At first it was difficult for me to get it to work. Then I ran the through the installation set up and it was working after that. I had to run ‘convert all pages’ several times because of time outs. There were a few holes with the image files and I had to use ftp to move around some of the image files. I also had to manually add certain pages that didn’t get converted during the ‘convert all pages’.
All in all, I’m glad I used this plugin and it has saved me a lot of time. I’d definitely use this on future projects.
I wasn’t able to get the ftp feature to work.

The idea with this plugin is great but this plugin doesn’t work. The few ties it’s generating files it’s saving them in a folder like /wp-content/plugins/really-static/static and redirecting your entire blog to that directory. Who want to have a blog like that?
The S3 upload isn’t working either. Nothing is uploaded at all.
The error messages you get are poorly written, but in most cases completely impossible to understand. You need to know German to at least understand a little of this plugin.

I hate to give 1 stars but the publisher does not answer his emails, on the forums and his official forums, I cannot get rid of “wp-content/plugins/really-static/static” on my links and nothing works cannot upload new posts of add new plugins

Great idea – I’ll keep it in mind for future use.
I ran a test on one of my sites – generated static pages served in well under 200ms.
I think they would serve in under 80ms to Googlebot and to visitors with a fast broadband connection.
Only problem is it doesn’t find custom content types e.g. “products”

Trying to publish via SFTP gives me code errors on an improperly written get_class() call on /php/sftp/SSH2.php line 1247. I get this error on a single-site installation.
Also, on a multisite installation, even if installed on single site, the plugin will throw errors on rewrite.php line 109 and admin.php line 508 for an incorrectly called get_blog_details().

Does a really good job of caching my site and improving its performance. Easy to setup, with out-of-the-box and advanced settings.

The URLs in the generated files have duplicate paths and slashes. No links to posts work. Plus CSS files and static assets do not link correctly as a result of this.
For example, a generated link:
domain.com/wp-content/plugins/really-static/static//wp-content/plugins/really-static/static/my-post-name/
This should be, but no file is found there either:
domain.com/wp-content/plugins/really-static/static/my-post-name/
I am using version 0.31 of this plugin.

EN is not the authors native language and that adds to the difficulty as i cannot read german. at any rate, the instructions are incomplete and the version information for different builds is confusing – the development build is apparently 0.43, yet the release is 0.520121012. which is which?
0.43, which is supposed to be latest development snapshot, produces no static files
hopefully the developer is responsive and this can be worked out
