Hi
There is a bug in this plugin, but there is a fix and then this text rotater plugin works well.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS PLUGIN
One of the thins I like about this plugin is that it possible to use simple HTML like
etc.
THE PROBLEM
The problem is that the fadetime doesn’t work.
The default value is 700 – but nomatter what you write in the shortcode it remains the same (700)
[quote_rotator title="my Quotes" number="4" howlong="5000" fadetime="2000" random="1" height="400"]
THE BUG FIX
The error is in the file jquery.sideswap.js line 77, 82, 88, 123, 124, 127 and 128. The variable called “duration” should be changed to “transition_speed”.
After this change the plugin works fine as shortcode anyway ??

I use plugin quote rotator. I’m from Slovakia. English language has a lot of diacritics. Quote in my language does not display correctly. Some accented characters will not display properly. How to solve this problem?
I’ve installed the quote editor and want to grant permissions to one of the “lower” user levels to be able to add and edit quotes. I’ve got a User Role Editor plugin but I’m not sure which of the user capabilities need to be enabled for a user to be able to do this. I’m not seeing in the code what user capability it looks for. Can you please let me know so I can assign this capability? Thanks.
Hi, thanks for your work, great plugin!
I would like to add another field to quotes form, ‘location below the quote author’. If it’s possible, I appreciate some help
Hello,
I’m using the quote rotator, and the randomization switch (in the widget settings) doesn’t seem to be working. I am not using shortcodes, so it’s not a hard-coded to be random anywhere. Is there anything else I need to check?
The widget version worked great when I added it to one sidebar. However, when I added it to another sidebar (the site has several templates) it messes up the display of the first. The quotes overlap the next widget as if it has no height assigned to it. I played around with the height option, but that didn’t help in that particular sidebar.
All the quotes flash together at the same time on load. Then it starts working correctly. You can see it here: (in Chrome) https://www.intuito.biz.
Thanks
how can I specify where I want the quotes to show up? I filled in the quotes and they are currently showing in the upper right hand corner of the page. I’d like for them to show starting on the left side of the page and to display as a single line instead of a few words on multiple lines.

Hi,
Just installed quote rotator and used the shortcode in a post to display it. Instead of the quotes appearing, the shortcode appears.
Here’s where I’m trying to do this: https://www.hyimvibe.com/hyim/?p=159
Help please,
thanks,

The CSS edit form is empty…which classes do I have to use in order to override the default plugin CSS (widget)? Thw width of the widget breaksmmy design, it should be fluid. How do I override the default CSS? I haven’t found anything in the files?
The CSS code box under Settings does not alter the appearance of the rotating quote widget, even with the code shown in the screenshot:
.rotated_quote .author {border-top: solid thin black;}
A guide to modifying the CSS elements used in this widget would be very helpful to include. I want to change the widget wrap and font size.
Also, the “Quote Rotator CSS box” is under “Settings”, not “Options.”
Technically it does work, but without CSS control I will have to uninstall it.
This latest version deleted all of my quotes (and I have no backup), and will not allow me to save new quotes. I have seen others post about having this same problem. Do NOT update to this latest version. I tried to deactive, and reactive, and that did not work either.
I have a new development version of Quote Rotator and would like your feedback before releasing. Please provide your feed back as comments on the post on my site.
WordPress 3.0 seems to have removed the prototype script. Which is good… except for this script.
You can fix this be changing one line in the script code.
echo “\n”;
echo “\n”;
Good lucky guys! Hope that fixes it!
I added the widget and this initially showed a message saying there were no quotes. It took AGES to find where to add quotes. The instructions say: Adds section under Manage tab to create and edit content.
There is no ‘Manage’ tab. The quotes are added under Posts.
I added some OK. If you add an author, you get the ‘insufficient permissions’ message.
I visited the plugin site, but this seems to be for a different plugin altogether.
This would be a great little plugin if these niggles ironed out!
The Quote Rotator widget shows up in my right-hand column, says it is “loading,” but the quotes never appear. Clicked on the widget creator only to be told the creator is no longer working on Quote Rotator and the suggestion that Flexi Quote Rotator be used.
I added a quote, and upon reloading my homepage, the widget flashed “Loading” and then loaded nothing.
The author text appears to be aliased in the quote rotator plugin, but the issue only appears in IE. I can’t figure out how to make it appear proper. Any suggestions?
