Is there a way to allow a WordPress user with the category of Contributor or Author to add a featured image to a post? Not just, Editor’s or Administrator’s?

I do not want a featured image affecting the design of my landing page. How do I exclude this plugin from adding a featured image on just this page?
I click ‘Remove featured image’ from the sidebar of the post and in mydomain/wp-admin/edit.php Post page. No matter what, when I log out and back in the featured image remains. The image is mucking up the sales page layout and flow. So I do not want a featured image on the home page. Just everywhere else. What am I doing wrong? Am guessing I’m overlooking an option setting or checkbox somewhere(?).

I’m having an issue applying a second rule. I have a blog with two categories, I have applied a rule to have an image to assigned to School News which works great. The issue I am having is with the second category. WHen I apply the rule and assign another image, that image isn’t being applied but its applying the first rules image. I thought it may be a permalink issue but I changed that and it had no affect. Thanks!

In the media library screen, it would be great if you could click on the featured images header so you could sort by them.

Hi, is it possible to bulk copy the alt text of images to the caption of featured images? (different alt text for each image)

Firstly, we wanted to say how great your plugin is, thanks for all of the efforts on it.

Our use case is that we would like to have a different featured image for each category. We’re having an issue where the same featured image shows regardless of category.

Here’s the settings we’re using:

1. Unchecked “Activate to automatically overwrite an existing featured image while saving a post”
2. Unchecked “Activate to automatically use the first content image if available in the media library as featured image while saving a post”. Checked “posts” under post type
3. Then we have a list of “category” and relevant category rules.

We are not using custom post types, but we are using a custom post single page layout that we built in Cornerstone / Pro (Xtheme). We’re running the most recent versions of all plugins, WordPress and Pro.

Any idea what we might be doing wrong here?

maybe I miss the obvious here, but the plugin (free version) won’t automatically set the featured image for any new posts that have a specific taxonomy term or category attached to them. The rule seems to look alright. It works only if I make a small change to an already existing post and re-save it afterwards. What am I doing wrong here?

When viewing my Posts page/list, my Featured Images are no longer showing up for most posts. Instead, there is a red X graphic and a warning that says “No File Was Uploaded”. The featured images are there when I click into the actual post, but I’m not seeing the previews as intended when looking at all of my posts together. Help!

Hello! I installed the plugin and it works great via browser. But when I make a new post via wordpress mobile app, it does not work. I see the plugin as active in the mobile app. But the featured image does not insert for those posts. Only the browser generated posts. What am I doing wrong? I am on iphone. Thanks!

I have transferred the website to another server and the plugin doesn’t show me the default photos … if I delete it and reinstall it, it’s the same – if I install new wordpress and install the plugin it works normally… unfortunately, I can’t I’ll set up the website again because it’s with news and the base is 30gb and 5gb,,,, can someone help?

I’m looking to purchase the Pro version of this plugin, but first I would like to confirm it will do what I wish for my blog before I do so.

I have just updated my WordPress blog theme and it uses the Featured Images for the thumbnails.

As my previous theme did not use Featured Images, I have 10,000+ blog posts that have no Featured Image.

They do all have an image at the top of the article that I link to, however, those links are from images uploaded to my server from a different section of my website (basically they are not in the Media section of my blog).

If I purchase the Pro version of this plugin, would it be able to automatically add the Featured Image for all 10,000+ blog posts from the “first image in the content”?

And if so, just to confirm does it matter if the “first images in the content” are not in my WordPress Media uploads?

I would like to add a feature: the possibility of uploading files to imgur and using them in the site library to add them to the article and add them to the favorite image of the article..
In other words, I prefer to use imgur as a cloud host for photos

Has anyone had error messages such as these appear in log? I have narrowed it down to Quick Featured Images but they don’t seem to affect anything.

I’ve installed and activated the Pro plugin, and entered my license key. In Bulk Edit I’ve told it to use the first image as the featured image, and I’ve set a category filter. On the next page, I’ve selected the category from the dropdown.

When I click Preview, it properly shows me the posts in that category. Because none of them have featured images (although all of them have first images within the post content, which are also in the Media Library), both the “Current” and “Future” Featured Images columns say that there is no image.

When I click the button to do the action, the list refreshes, but now it’s all in red with the word “Unchanged” and nothing in the featured image column.

I’ve tried different themes, disabled all plugins, etc., but it still doesn’t work. Help? Thank you! ??

After upgrading my site, one of the Default Images rules has suddenly stopped working (Taxonomy: Category, Value: Daily Devotional). All the other rules seem to be unaffected so I don’t think it’s a plugin conflict and I have another category rule that uses the same image so I know the image isn’t the problem.

I deleted and recreated the rule but no change. Any ideas?

Hi! I begin to use the plugin to show how many posts i need to fix the feature image. But i use the WP Offload Media image plugin (with Amazon S3 and Cloudfront configuration) and configure to not the save image in my server.

Instead, i configured to upload the image directly to S3 in each upload, because i don’t have many space disk in server. And the column in post listing don’t show the image, but the post have the feature image. The feature image its use the Cloudfront link (like test.cloudfront.net/upload/image.jpg).

I don’t know if i need to set additional configuration in plugin.

One of my clients couldn’t access the media library anymore, is was timing out every time. The display is 250 items per page.

In your function display_post_list_column, the query that gets the post_ids, took over 3 seconds per query, so it’s called 250 times, which caused the timeout.

I did some testing, in the query instead of doing LIKE ‘_thumbnail_id’, if you do = ‘_thumbnail_id’, from over 3 seconds, it takes 0.3s, 10 times faster, with this fix, it doesn’t timeout anymore.

In this case the LIKE is not necessary, because you know the exact meta_key you are looking for.

The only reason I would buy this plugin is to automatically set the first images in posts as the featured images. Unfortunately, you list this as a PRO feature and knowing my luck your plugin won’t even work. I base this fear on Auto Featured Image not working. If I am going to use your premium version I need to see this feature work on my site at least once before I pay a fee.

My client is having me clean up her website a little bit and this is one of the plugins her previous designer installed and she wants to delete it. Will it cause any issues if featured images were placed with this plugin? She’s not sure if it was ever used, so not sure if there’s a way I can tell? Thanks so much!
