Was looking for a notification system rather than using jetpack and this does it perfectly. costs $5 per device (one off charge) you sent the notifications to but well worth that

Using it for new orders notifications, and it works exactly as I imagined it would.

Very simple to setup, works perfectly and support / update when I had an issue was prompt and very friendly.
Great for sending notifications of new orders to more people than those that just have access to the email account.
Happy to recommend to everyone that uses pushover.

Just followed the guide and even though the pushover website is ugly, it is fully functional. I would like to customize the logo of the push notification which doesn’t seem to be working, but other than that, awesome plugin.
Free trial for 5 days, $5 for lifetime ??

It works and it’s free, so I can’t complain too much. The only issue I have is that it sends me multiple notifications for the same new order. For instance, a customer purchased a shirt on 2 December and I received a notification, which was good. Yet, I received another notification on 4 December, which led me to believe the customer ordered another shirt. But she actually didn’t. I posted a support request to fix the issue, but the plugin’s author did not respond.

It sends me notifications, but always more than one. Sometimes the subsequent notification is a few hours after the sale, sometimes it’s a few days after. That doesn’t work for me because I’m never certain whether a ‘sold order’ notification was real or not. But I found a better solution–for me at any rate.
I spoke with the folks at Pushover.net because I couldn’t get much help from this plugin’s author. The Pushover folks told me that if you go to the WooCommerce Settings page and select the ‘Emails’ -> ‘New Order’ tab, you can add ‘[email protected]’ to the New Order Email ‘Recipients’ box. This way, WooCommerce will send an email directly to Pushover (after a new order comes in) and Pushover will set off your Pushover notification app on your phone. This is done ‘Without Any Additional Plugin At All.’ You can find the instructions at https://pushover.net/faq#technical-email.

I installed this after reading about it in the woothemes 13 nifty, free WooCommerce extensions you might not know about…
Now I guess technically this plugin is “free”, but if you actually want to use it to receive notifications using the app on your phone “pushover” you have to pay for.
Although you do get a 5 day free trial, and the plugin did work when I tested it, it is not free to be able to actually use it.

This plugin does everything I need and works well.

I would have given it 5 Stars, but it only comes with 5 notification types. 4 of which a digital commerce site has zero use for. Would be nice for new registrations, ratings, comments, etc. But for now I’ll just have it for the new orders. (Running in Catch-Box Pro Theme and integraded to Galaxy S3. Painless to set up.
