Installed on a site with 8,800 posts by a couple of dozen authors (over the years). Activated the plugin, went to look at an author profile page (latest post is from a newer author) and found two posts listed. I refreshed LiteSpeed cache for that page and it jumped to nine posts. Went to the Posts list in the admin and clicked his name (adding author=<ID>
to the URI) and it showed the same, nine posts.
The problem is that this author has 60 posts. The nine it was showing weren’t even his latest posts, just a random selection spanning his four months on my site. Others were the same (only much higher real post counts since they’ve been around longer).
This was all within minutes of activating the plugin. I hadn’t done anything except turn off this plugin’s author boxes and profile pages (I don’t need them and will only use the multi-author feature). Disabled the plugin and viola! Everything was back to normal.
I didn’t debug anything. Probably won’t either. I was checking the free version of the plugin before buying the bundle (actually need caps pro and perms pro). This plugin just saved me $129. Of all the errors possible, basic, core post counts is the worst pooch to…
Stable, up-to-date 6.6.2 multisite install on OLS with MariaDB 10 and PHP 8.3.

I’ve found this plugin perfect to permitt to manage article wrote by two or more person.
Give too the possibility to manage the signature in each article and present a nice Author management interface to edit each author.

In the WordPress ecosystem, there are thousands of plugins. They range from super well thought out and functional, to lousy and broken. I put Publish Press at the highest end of the list. I’ve been stress testing the plugins for several days now and I can say that they have been working flawlessly.
Is the suite perfect? IMHO not yet, but the good news is that the developers listen and respond, and they do so quickly! That’s what site admins want and need most. We often feel lost and alone trying to fix a glitch or add a feature. The Publish Press folks have been quick on the draw.
If you are looking for a publishing suite that helps you get your publication online, you’ll be thrilled with Publish Press. As for what’s missing, it’s maybe too early for me to tell, but at first glance it does seem as though the developers are serious about their software and continuously improving it. Final note, the premium/pro versions are worth it. They add many very worthwhile features.

This plugin has been a lifesaver for our library site; with thousands of authors we’ve been able to create ‘accounts’ for them without the WordPress accounts to match.
Great job!

Works well. Didn’t give top marks because it cannot handle themes which insist on showing the poster as well as the authors.

UPDATE: I’m going to give this plugin 5 stars as I realise that I need to map users for them to show up. I am wondering if this process can be automated. So WordPress Authors will all show up as possible Co-Authors without having to map them.
Original post
This looked like the perfect plugin for the promised functionality. But it has one problem which makes it unusable for some. The site I am working on is a business directory. It gives a post to each business, but businesses have multiple people working for them. The problem is adding a person as an author to a post who currently doesn’t have any posts. They do not show up as an option when choosing multiple authors while in edit mode. Obviously, the plugin will only work for sites that have authors that already have posts.

Just what we needed for attributing authors that aren’t users.

I worked with Riza to solve an error on my website. Turns out it was a snippet of code on my end that I forgot to add, not the plugin’s fault. Riza was able to diagnose the issue within a couple of emails, and showed great knowledge about PublishPress and how it integrates with Elementor.

The latest addition of categorizing the Authors into different category like Authors, Reviewers, Co-Authors, etc. makes it a perfect plugin for managing Authors. Their support is even more awesome. Thanks for all the help again.

I wish I could add different text in a box under a post and on autor’s page. Hope it’ll be added sometime in future.

We got this plugin because we needed posts to have multiple authors. We got help from support and they were able to give solutions to show the multiple authors on the “byline” of the posts and also on our front page. The support team worked quickly and always responded to my questions. Great product!

Easy to use, customizable, great out of the box options. Super responsive and helpful customer support to get a few simple code fixes implemented when there was a compatibility issue with my theme.

PublishPress always helps to resolve any issues that come up as quickly as possible. They are located in Indonesia so keep that in mind for response times. I love their Authors plugin — it has enabled me to have multiple authors for my website magazine. It’s easy to us, has a lot of customization options, and looks great! Thank you PublishPress!

Used this plugin for about a year, now switched over to the pro version because I needed the custom fields. It does what its supposed to to.
The API documentation could be better — but I only once encountered something I couldn’t figure out by looking through the sourcecode. I guess the main target group are not mainly developers. But that doesn’t mean that this plugin isn’t for developers. I created a pull request for a missing thing I needed, which was merged about a week later, so good experience there. Also, really nice that they have a wp-cli integration.
Last thing, the support answers really quickly.

As the admin, I am the one who usually posts the articles, whether they are my own, staff writers, or guests. This plugin makes it easy to attribute properly and have bios for authors and guest authors. You can even have multiple authors for one article. It’s AWESOME!
