Great plugin for integrating with proxycheck.io! Get your API and rules well defined there and it works as described! Great followup from plugin author as well. Thanks!

Doesn’t do anything.

Didn’t get the API Key, and no emails at all. Either at Proxycheck they don’t want me (or they don’t want WP-users in general); or they’re down. I removed the plugin.

Blocks your WP Cron from running, seems support no longer available for this plugin either. Best off installing another one

Very bad experience using this plugin, it is make the site badly slow you should fox it before uploaded for library.

Setup is simple but when all is said and done it does NOT block the chosen country from accessing the shop website. it however does block admin access from that country (which is not what I wanted or configured for)

Using it for about 6 months (running PHP 8.1.6, WP 6.02).
I got rid off compromised servers, vpn and TOR. Does what it says, good!
I’ll contribute with translations.

Well designed, carefully implemented plugin that does exactly what it says it will do. Great tech support as well. Highly recommend.

It works perfectly at startup. Then it starts generating the 502 error: 502 Bad Gateway.
Is there any solution for this?

The setup is quite simple so no mistakes can be made in the settings. I was able to access my site and this plugin didn’t kicked in.

I’m running a large classifieds site and the plugin helps me block a boatload of unwanted traffic and users. We had a lot of scammers before that were uing VPNs and proxies and this plugin solved that problem completely.

Does what it’s supposed to do and blocks most of what I want it to block (proxies and VPN), the rest is blocked by other anti-spam measures.
An issue we had was quickly resolved (we hit the 1000 free api calls when there was increased spammer/hacker activity and all logins were blocked). The new option that sends an e-mail at 90% of our API allowance now alerts us in time and the plugin stops blocking when API calls are exhausted.
5 stars!

It seems like useless

I installed this yesterday and have been using different VPN’s to visit the site and it doesn’t block any attempt.

I tested, after setting api, with cybeghost from 3 different countries, none blocked, did i miss something here?

I have been using Proxy-Vpn-Blocker for many months now and i have never had a issue during that time. The plugin has no visible performance overhead that i have seen and proxycheck.io has the best database of compromised and suspect servers that i have seen so far.
The service is very accurate and i have never had any complaints from users since i started running the plugin. So its a lovely plugin to use and something that has made a very noticeable effect on my security logs.
My only feature requests would be to provide a easy way of running the plugin on the wp-login-php page (just to block compromised servers, to mitigate the thousands of password guess’s each day) and potentially even providing the ability to have a different rule for posts (block VPN / Proxy / compromised servers) to discourage trolls.
T think that the small fee that proxycheck.io charges for the paid service is really good value which makes using it easy if you need the paid for service. But with the caching that the plugin does its number of queries really reduce when dealing with script kiddies and their compromised servers, though it would be nice to be able to set the cache to a few days.
So an awesome plugin for keeping the helping to keep the problematic elements off your site.

I’ve used this plugin for some time and the results are quite good. I especially appreciate that I can get data on how much a threat a particular IP is.

Thanks for this plugin. It’s perfect for my needs. Still doing a major redevelopment of an existing site with minimal traffic, so it might be a while before I need to purchase the licence key for more traffic…
Works well. I tested it using my paid VPN service (one of the best and most expensive VPNs on the market) on iPhone in Safari, and on desktop in Firefox and Chrome.
By the way, I read the only one-star review by someone shouting at you that it doesn’t work after he/she tested it on some google service (“Google up Proxy”.. what’s that???), and accused you of getting your friends to write all the 5-star reviews. So, we’re friends now, right? lol
But seriously, in your reply, you suggested that the reason is likely to have been that your plugin can’t prevent views from cached pages. Not sure what you meant or how that works, but yes, I noticed I could view some pages in Firefox that I had previously viewed through my direct connection (i.e. VPN off) even after I switched on the VPN. Afterwards, when I went to purge my site’s cache through wordpress dashboard in Chrome browser, I got blocked by your plugin lol. Disabled VPN, refreshed wordpress page in Chrome, purged the cache, switched on VPN, and then tried viewing those same test pages in Firefox but they were blocked this time.
If I understand correctly, people can only view pages through a VPN if they had previously viewed them without their VPN, right, and they will never view anything that’s cached on the server side?

We have a specific use case where we need to block VPNs, Proxies, and Tor users from accessing the registration page. This plugin has done that perfectly. So far, I’ve only tested Tor and that worked. Thanks to the developer.

I Agree with the last positive review, forget the 1-star review, this plugin does what it says. I have tested it several times with Vyprvpn, HMSvpn, Privatevpn, Safervpn, and CyberGhost 7, and it detected all of them, all the times. Even more, I used various honest website IP addresses to test it, and unlike other services that I don’t want to mention, this plugin didn’t give me a warning for them.
Great plugin! The only one that doesn’t load everywhere to do the job. If you can, I suggest you integrate it with Woocommerce orders to give warnings and scores.
Thank you!

Ignore the 1 star review… this plugin works fantastic. I use the API across a number of websites and it blocks most if not all VPN’s and Proxies. It also allows me central black/white list management of specific IP’s and ranges. Give it a try, it is free and appears pretty cheap to purchase more than 1000 checks per day. Looking forward to further development and feature requests.

I am using a VPN and immediately got blocked. What’s awesome is that the plugin seems to be able to handle Cloudflare and caching in general.
It’s my first day, I might add to this review.

For me this plugin has worked wonders as I really needed to block some notorious people. I even donated to the author a small amount to encourage him keep the good work going. Best of luck to the author

Completely and totally worthless. Install it, set it up to block all pages, Google up Proxy and every single one of them still works.
Don’t waste your time.
