For what it is, it works technically, other than you can’t see any projects in the back end unless you’re an admin. That bug aside, no other technical issues. However design wise it’s really odd and limited. The word “phases” is odd, and doesn’t make sense given what they are and the existence of milestones. Really phases should be called tasks, and task should be sub tasks. The main issue is nothing has due dates. A Project can have a start and stop, but that’s it. No milestone, phase, or task can have a due date. That pretty much makes it useless for tracking and accountability. Also missing are other common things like Status of things (like in work, pending, rejected, etc). Milestones are limited to 3 or 4 in a project, which is… well limiting. So while I only found one bug and nothing that technically prevented use, I just don’t see it as very useful the way it’s designed. Pity because it looks pretty good. So with a few basic common sense project management additions, which should be easy given the main framework is in place, this would be a really solid plugin. I could then see calendar, gant chart, and kanban being paid add on capabilities.

I am exploring the free version and am very happy with the functionality.
The only thing I would recommend would be to reduce the pie charts in the phases or replace them with progress lines. Pie charts are nice, but take up a lot of space.
Also under the heading – General Project Completion. The percentages (25%, 50%, 75%) are very high off the line. It might be worth putting them on the line itself so they don’t take up too much space.
The plugin is very good. I hope that the plugin will continue to evolve.

Whether you have a small office or a large organization, a structured project management approach makes projects successful for a home event or an enterprise project.
However, we rarely find simple and practical tools to implement without breaking a bank or breaking heads.
Here is a tool that is versatile yet very simple on the pocket and brain.
The name aptly suggests the functionality of the plugin. It enables a panoramic view of your projects, tasks, activities, clients, budgets, expenses, and even billing.
A very easy-to-use plugin to track every minute aspect of a project, make people accountable, and drive results.
A must-use tool for freelancers, project managers, startups, or any organization with two or more projects/clients.
This plugin also has several beneficial and thoughtful extensions and blends seamlessly with Learndash, Buddy boss, gravity forms, and most importantly, woo commerce. You can also produce impressive Gantt charts, get notifications and even adjust project delays.
As a lover of WordPress, I am proud that such plugins improve the overall value and respect of WordPress.

I have emailed them repeatedly regarding serious bugs in Panorama, and these have not been fixed FOR MONTHS. I am a paying customer, not impressed.

I started using this plugin a week ago to organize some large public works projects. So far it has been great. I like the flexibility when it come to the appearance and setting differing permissions for different user levels.
Like any piece of software you didn’t write yourself, it’s not 100% perfect and does not do 100% of everything I desired 100% of the way I wanted. However, it does about 98% of what I wanted and after testing a lot of other project management plugins for WordPress, this one won hands down.
I’ve sent a few support tickets and a feature request in and have so far gotten responses to any ticket in less than 4 hours. I’m impressed.
I think my only quibble is it needs some project templating tools to speed up creating large, complicated projects. I have one that has 50+ phases each with a standard set of tasks; the ability to copy those tasks from phase to phase would have been a huge timesaver. At least it does have great autocomplete so I didn’t have to type out 300+ tasks.
Bottom line, best project management plugin I’ve tried for WordPress and very reasonably priced.

I’m enthusiastically writing this review for Project Panorama. I’m not being paid to endorse this plugin, really, this company. My experience with Project Panorama support has been outstanding! They have truly gone above and beyond and out of their way to accommodate my requests. I am an avid plugin purchaser, and I haven’t come across any support that has the willingness to go the extra mile for their clients than I have with Project Panorama. My experience has been a pleasant one and I look forward to watching the company grow as I know it will. You can’t go wrong with this company.

All I have to say is that I had about 60 emails back and forth between the developer and myself and it proved to be the best customer service I have ever had.
The Program is great, very customizable and very powerful.
Thanks for such an awesome product.

I’ve been a customer for several years, picked up ProjectPanorama back in 2014 – really couldn’t find a project manager I liked that offered back end management and front end client engagement features. Ross was absolutely awesome helping me with little things, making the plugin unique for my situation.
Advance 4 years to now, I started a new site, new design, new goals. PP has come a long way. The superior support is still there, Ross really cares and wants to help in any way he can. I’ve made a few suggestions that would make PP even more user friendly visually and functionally, but as with any plugin, coding and testing takes time … I know Ross and his team will make it happen!
One item of note, anyone using membership plugins that change user roles, if you use the uploader plugin PP offers for free, check permissions for each user role, both default and membership roles. With my setup customers couldn’t see the “Upload Documents” button, yet it was visible to me as admin. Found out, after installing a user roles editor, the membership plugin allowed “free” subscribers but not any of the “membership” levels above. Clicked a few boxes and viola .. success!
Keep up the great work Ross!! I’m a fan and customer for life ??

I’m delighted with this plugin. I’ve been wanting to build a client management area within my site for ages, and had already tried two other plugins and abandoned them both after a lot of research and development time as they just weren’t up to the job for what I wanted.
Then I came across Project Panorama. I tried the free version first and then sent an extensive list of pre-purchase questions for the Pro version, to which I promptly received a detailed response! I have now purchased the Pro version of the plugin and front-end editor, and have managed to install and configure everything to suit my needs just by following the answers to my pre-purchase questions and the extensive documentation. This is a great tool which is flexible and well documented. I am a very happy customer (not often I get to say that sadly).

A year of great project management via Project panorama has passed. *I think PRO licence terms can be more clear.

Looks good but I will be looking for an alternative. It lacks in functionality but I think it could potentially become a really good plugin. The only reason I’m leaving the bad review (and deleting it) is due to the bad customer support.
Sent an email regarding a bug, it took them a long time to reply. When I finally did receive a reply, it never even addressed my question.

No regrets in purchasing this plugin at all. It really works so well, the power lies in it’s out-the-box simplicity but ability to be extended.
The support for this plugin is also really amazing – fast, efficient and very friendly. Thanks goes to “Ross” for all his help and willingness to go the extra mile for me!

— INTRO —
I have been an active user of Project Panorama since 2014 and it still is one of the best plugins for project management in WordPress.
With this plugin you can set a project description, add documents which clients can approve or reject, milestones, phases, tasks and comments.
— PREMIUM & FRONT END EDITOR ADD-ON —
Shortly after I decided to upgrade to the premium plugin and on Februari 2017 I decided to try the Front End Editor extension which makes editing project information much easier since you stay in the Project Panorama frontend area.
However at the moment when you use the Front End Editor it loads a new page where you see the same input fields you have when you edit the project in the backend area.
— FRONT END EDITOR SUGGESTION —
So I suggested to the team behind Project Panorama that it would be much easier, quicker and user friendly if you could just change all content in the project view without having to load a new page which shows the fields from the backend instead of the project view.
Now this is only possible for task progress. If you want to change the other content a new page gets loaded on the front end.
Although it would require a lot of work they said this is the ultimate goal of the Front End Editor add-on. I haven’t got an answer yet when this will be out, but their response time is really fast so when I get an update on this I will publish it here.
— Conclusion —
Still Project Panorama with the Front End Editor add-on is really nice and let’s you stay on track. For your clients it is really easy for them to add comments to either a project phase or the comments area at the bottom. But most importantly they can now visually see the project status.
An other point which made me go for this plugin is because I wanted to keep the costs low, the plugin only costs me a one time free of 59 dollars. The Front End extension costs 29 dollars a year but can be cancelled at any time. In comparison to other programs and tools I think this is just plain cheap for anyone who runs a fulltime business. So in my opinion this is really worth the few bucks.
Most project management programs are an overkill for me plus I wanted a nice visual way to keep my clients informed about my progress.
— Need a Dutch translation? Contact me! —
Since I am from The Netherlands I took the time to translate this plugin since it didn’t have a Dutch translation.
So if anyone is in need of a Dutch translation please contact me and I am more then happy to send it. I also send it to Project Panorama a few days ago but it may take while when this will be available in.
— Custom CSS TO MAKE PROJECT VIEW CLEANER —
I also have custom css which can be added to the plugin in the Custom Styling options for the project view to make the page a bit cleaner and to make all distances and spacing equal so it just looks better. If you are interested in this please contact me.
— Ending —
Normally I don’t write plugin reviews often but I really like this plugin and where it’s going. So in my opinion, although there’s still room for improvement, I still think it deserves the 5 stars!
I hope this review will be of any help and if anyone has a question or anything then I please contact me.
Cheers!

We started using Project Panorama (+ the Frontend Editor) to guide candidates through a year-long education programme. We very quickly realised that it was going to be a pivotal tool for our candidates due to it’s practical nature. Have to say the backup service level was 5 star – thanks for a great experience!

Bought the premium AGENCY version of this plugin and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I am not disappointed. I found it via the Sprout Apps Invoice Plugin and they work VERY well together. I am so happy and excited. This is the exact thing I was looking for with a project management app!
Keep up the phenomenal work!

Very easy to use plugin that integrates nicely with Genesis themes. Useful for showing progress with all kinds of projects, not just web design. I bought the Premium version a while ago for the added features and to support development, and I’m very happy Recently requested a feature change, and Ross and his team wrote me an add-on extension in two days. You can’t get better support than that!

This is basically a custom post type with a really handy features. Managing projects involving multiple contributors, assigning tasks and communicating is very easy and useful.
Although one always could wish more features, but it does what it is supposed to do.

This plugin integrated well with my theme and was intuitive to set up. My clients are happy to visually see the progress of their projects which in turn makes my life a lot easier! Contemplating upgrading to the premium version.

I love Project Panorama! I think this plugin is extremely effective at presenting project information and progress and is also easy to use. It is very clear that the developer knows how projects should be managed as it is reflected in the user experience.
I also highly recommend the premium version to anyone using this. Worth the money.

Breaks other plugins, Shortcodes render no docs when clearly there are some. creates own theme except for shortcode, which i gotta ask who wants that, saw this same problem in the plugin before “project status” which has the same design flaws this one has, this one is just a little more fresh than Project status. WP and WP Plugins are better when makers use this forum. NOt using it is a slap in the face. Make will not use the WP support no you have to log in to yet another website you might use only once or twice. THis is a great way to weed people out of helping them with a junk product. the more hoops you have to jump thru to get help, the less likly you will stay with it.
If you love this plugin and gotta have it, Hack it and make it better, or steal the css and js and just use that.

First it shows the world the project, so each time you need to save as private and second it just makes the project a post.
If I wanted to a post I could just create a post.
It works, but it’s rather pointless.

Great plugin. Simple to use, nice to look at.
I bought the pro version.
Ross, the developper is very responsive to any questions and provided help so I could make the plugin play well with my theme.
I recommend.

I tested the free version with Genesis childtheme and was impressed. Purchased Pro Version – am delighted! Plus the developer is very responsive – thank you!
There are many free/paid project management plugins. This is my favorite by far. Elegantly leverages WP functionality for simple/intuitive back end. Plus it is compatible with ACF Pro.
Flexibility: You can add links to Dropbox for project documents, or upload documents to your Media library.
Customization: Hooks are especially useful to add custom fields. Well done!

…how do you use it??
See, it installed just fine. I created a project and category just fine….now what??? There is ZERO documentation on how to actually USE this plugin.
” Project Panorama is a simple and effective alternative to basecamp an “
The description is cut off. As someone who is trying to find a good Project Mangement solution, seeing this plugin is just frustrating as it does not tell you what it actually does.
