Hi there.

I’ve been looking for it but cannot find anywhere how I access the extra fields in PHP. When I get the user metadata, only some fields turned up.

Is there any documentation on how to access all the fields in a regular manner in PHP?

We have a couple of fields that are set by the administrator and visible to others but not editable by them (eg membership number).

But the values in these fields are completely wiped out when a user edits any other field. Is there any chance that this will be fixed?

I noticed that the topic ‘profile extra fileds label‘ was ignored but it is of great value for the aesthetics of a web site, not to mention that the text decontextualizes with the area where the code is implemented, would you be able to pass on where to make these changes?

We created three Custom Fields that appear on the new user form but when an administrator creates a new user manually in the wordpress dashboard, these extra fields show up on the user creation page but the data we enter in these extra fields doesn’t save.

We then need to access the newly created profile in our users list and re-enter the same data for each custom field for it to save correctly this time.

Any reason why this happens on the new user screen and how to troubleshoot this?

I am using Profile Extra Field plugin for couple of weeks now. I have added 1 just 1 custom field for now and it was working without any trouble. I have denied free user registration, new users can be added only from admin panel. Since the last update 2 weeks ago, the custom field I have added is missing when I try to register a new users via the admin panel (https://drstavrov.com/wp-admin/user-new.php). Can you help me fix this?

In order to integrate this solution with a membership management website that I am building (without other plugins), I need to be able to edit user data or add user data to the table prflxtrflds_user_field_data.

I’ve noticed that when I delete user data from the user editor in the admin panel it shifts all entries around so that the ids in this table are continuous without gaps and each user’s data is clustered together. I could try an mimic this because there must be a reason for it but is there an easier, built in way to edit user data using PHP Snippets?

Hi, is there a way to just display the new profile field for a specific user via shortcode. I want to use this to display membership numbers on a users ‘My Account’ page. The account page is via another plugin, but allows the use of shortcodes. But of course your shortcode displays all of the users in a column list. I want to show just the new profile for that specific user.

Is there any way to access the extra field data through the WordPress API? E.g. using the endpoint /wp-json/wp/v2/users

I see that it’s possible to export the data to a CSV file, but we really need a way to access it programmatically from an external system.

Can you share any plans on allowing for the access of specific data via a shortcode? I am trying to find an immediate way to access the current logged in users custom field data (a URL in my example) and your plugin does not appear to allow this. Thx.

After upgrade to WP v5.8.3 the extra field type TEXTAREA in the admin page no longer keeps line breaks! Before the WP upgrade I could write text in TEXTAREA and the line breaks were kept after save/update.

Can anybody help?

NOTE: I’m using version 1.2.5 of this plugin but on 1.2.4 happens the same.

I made 4 extra fields, not in a registration form, only to be seen on the profile page online by the users. At first everything went fine, but since a few weeks something is wrong. I can still see the fields on the profile page when I want to edit them (users in dashboard), but when I save the data, the fields are empty. When I go the the profile page (online), I can see the data. Second problem: I made a field “URL”, I can see the URL online and in the users tab (Dashboard), but it is not clickable online. Before it was possible. I already deactivated all other plugins, but also this gives no solution.
Hope you understand what the problems are. I can’t place an URL to visit and see for yourself, the whole site is password protected.

I’m creating a new checkbox field but it doesn’t show in the registration field. Here’s a screenshot of my field configuratiom.

There’s some know issues with this?

An I think there’s soem issue saving the data.

If I select the checkbox and save after I can’t de select the checkbox. If i save it, when it reloads the profile it’s still selected.

I have a multisite installation using subdomains. On my sites, I have a created a plugin that manages site content for various subsite administrators. This includes producing reports of their site users (e.g. display a table with all user profile fields).

I am considering using this plugin so that administrators for selected sites could add extra user profile fields. Not all of the subsites would have this so the plugin would only be enabled on selected subsites. I see that your plugin creates a number of tables with the table name format WP_PREFIX_prflxtraflds_table-name.

Questions:
1. Do you store only the user_id in your custom tables that has a relation to a WordPress user, or do you also store the Site ID that user is associated with? (If not, I can use the is_user_member_of_blog() function) . This will make displaying the user profile fields easier for selected sites.

2. Is there a function that can be called to determine if the plugin is activated on a particular subsite on a multisite install? (If not I can use is_plugin_active(‘profile-extra-fields’)). This will determine if I look for the extra profile fields.

3. Assuming that condition 2 above is met, is there a function or shortcode that will put a users custom profile data into a multi-dimensional array with field_name -> user_data pairs so that I can easily iterate to output the data table?

4. Do you sanitize data inputs to prevent sql injection?

5. Do you handle quotes and other special characters in the data?

Created custom filed not showing in wp user list.

Menu option All Fields > Select User Data tab. Select Screen Options choose Name and the screen display updates and shows the users name. Select Apply and the Name column disappears. However, the number of entries can be selected changed and applied and that value ‘sticks’.

I am using Profile Extra Fields by BestWebSoft plugin. A specific extra field is part of the account registration process.

When a user buys an item or when a user’s subscription is automatically renew, I see this extra field with the value indicated in the new order email and the new subscription renewal order email.

But this extra field isn’t showing up in subscription cancelled email. How do I fix this?
