When a user registers on the site, WordPress allows the username of this new member to have up to 60 characters.
Is it possible to limit the number of characters in the username? If possible, I would like to have a minimum number of 7 characters and a maximum of 25 characters during registration.

I’ve validated that the captcha code is correct already, running on the same version as the key (V3) and has permission to run on this domain. It’s not logging any errors either.
I am on wordpress 6.7 and profile builder 3.12.7
Hi,
After updating to WP 6.7 I’m getting this notice:
Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the profile-builder domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later.
I notice that multiple plugins have this error after WP was updated. More info at the Make WP Core page. My site-language is non-English, debugging is turned on.
It’s because of using the?plugin_loaded
?function in?this file. When changing this to?init
, the notice is gone. Don’t know whether you can simply change this to?init
?or not.

I’m having problems with spammers registering with multiple subdomains to get around the restrictions I place on the main domain. I’ve tried typical wildcards such as *domain.com but nothing works. ]]>This issue was mentioned several years ago but the thread can no longer be replied to and I couldn’t find any recent documentation with the solution.
If you’re having an issue where page’s Profile Builder shortcodes aren’t working and are just showing text like [wppb-register] instead of the actual form, then the reason is that the plugin has a security feature where the form will only be rendered if the page’s author is an administrator.
In our case, we had downgraded an administrator’s account to a Customer, and suddenly our registration form stopped working without any visual indicator as to why that might be. We tried reinstalling the plugin and many other workarounds, but nothing helped until we stumbled upon an old comment from 2020 with the fix.
Suggestion for the devs: Instead of preventing the shortcode from being rendered at all, consider making it display something like “Error: This shortcode may only be used on pages authored by an administrator” to make it more clear what the issue is.

]]>I am using Profile Builder to create a private website and everything is working as desired except that our privacy policy page, which should be private unless the user is signed in, remains private after signing in (or at least temporarily).
After signing in, the user is directed to the homepage. If the user then navigates to the privacy policy page (linked to in footer), they are redirected to the login page (redirect url reads: https://fundforstates.wpenginepowered.com/login/?wppb_referer_url=https%3A%2F%2Ffundforstates.wpenginepowered.com%2Fprivacy-policy%2F) when the page should be viewable. Our login page show the message:
“You are attempting to reach a member-only page. Please log in below or contact us to request access.”
But in place of the login form, it shows the below message:
“You are currently logged in as [email protected].?Log out ?“
It appears that after a few minutes the privacy policy eventually is accessible. Not sure if this is a hint that it is a cache issue. I’ve requested a cache exclusion for the privacy policy page so hoping this solves.
Thanks for any input

]]>Hi,
I was using profile builder plugin to create a login and register site. The purpose behind this plugin was to allow the user to input a wrong password without sending him to the default WordPress login page. It was working as intended until i installed a forum plugin. ]]>The content restrictions on elementor elements does not appear to be working correctly.

Users with a role of Subscriber on our site should not be able to reset their password in the frontend Recover Password Form.
I have added code suggested elsewhere to prevent password resets for those with the Subscriber user role shown below, but the email is still sending. So I am wondering if there are different hooks I can use with this plugin to prevent the email from sending and returning an error to explain Subscribers can’t reset their password.
add_filter('allow_password_reset', function ($allow, $ID) {
if ((! $allow) || is_wp_error($allow)) {
// Rejected by a previous filter
return $allow;
}
// Read the user's roles
$user_data = get_userdata($ID);
// subscriber users may not reset passwords
if (in_array('subscriber', (array) $user_data->roles)) {
return false;
}
return true;
}, 10, 2);
The email that is sent returns a link that correctly doesn’t have a valid key, meaning the password recovery won’t work but the link is structured like this: https://example.test/password-recovery/?key%5Berrors%5D%5Bno_password_reset%5D%5B0%5D=Password reset is not allowed for this user&&&login=charliedek.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

]]>Hi there,
I have problem with form to register in plugin.
When I disable all plugins, form work properly, but when I activate Elementor, everything breaks down. When I enter username and e-mail and click button to register, page come back to register, display error “There was an error in the submitted form” and username and e-mail stay in fields.
Unfortunatelly, I can’t share link to website – it’s hosted on local server and I connect there through VPN.
Does anyone had problem like this or know how to fix this?

I am planning to use this plugin specifically for the ability to set content restrictions based on user role. This will be used for both entire pages and content sections created using Elementor.
The site will also be using a caching plugin as well as a CDN.
In order for these pages to not be cached I will have to have some type of a flag to
1) tell the caching plugin not to cache the page and
2) set headers so that the CDN does not cache the page.
I have no problem doing either of the above.
What I would like to know: Is there any way for me to detect when a page is saved if the page or any content on the page is restricted so that I can set a meta value for the page to flag the page prevent page caching so that this can be done dynamically rather than adding a setting to each page to allow turning caching on/off manually for each page?
Hello,
I currently use your plugin User Profile Picture where you published this:
User Profile Picture is no longer under active development, but will continue to work as is. We have integrated the current functionality in Profile Builder where it will actively be maintained, and we recommend migrating to it.
Does this integration as an addon work with the free version of Profile Builder or only with the premium one?
Thanks.
]]>So far this seems like a great plugin.
I’ve encountered an issue with admin approval for users before they can login.
I used the setting to store it in usermetadata.
It works like is intended.
We use a special login URL for security purposes for users with elevated privileges.
I know they can also login using profile builder login.
However we have another layer of security if they come via a different route.
The fact that they can login via the PB login is NOT the issue.
The problem is our custom login route seems to think all users need to be approved by admin plus it doesn’t know how to check who has been approved, so blocks all logins. ie. our custom login no longer works.
That forces all logins to use the PB route so missing this layer of security (which I don’t want to describe on public forum).
Any idea how to allow a different (hidden) login url to ignore the admin approval issue?
Many thx.
