Is it possible to have the original url on the title of the post? I d like to click on the post and get back on the original site and not the created article.
is it possible to setup a default category for posting the articles ?

]]>Previously I could use “Press This” tool and if there was a link to another post or article inside of the excerpt but outside of my site, it would automatically insert the full linked article without having to cut and paste the URL using the post’s “Link” feature. I don’t know what happened but it disappeared so now I have to manually insert links within the post. This is important where one article on a website references another another article or report on a different website. The original excerpt or article may have a reference to a past article and it comes in to “Press This’ already with the URL linked to that specific article. Confusing you? I am too. This means I don’t have to go back to the original article source and “Copy Link” and then paste it into the “Link” tool above the excerpt or article.

Thanks for your nice plugin, I was myself checking if having a better bookmarklet would be possible, and your plugin is a great step to this !
One thing I would really like is to be able to capture HTML instead of text.
I would like that the WP bookmarklet save my time.
By this, I mean : I find a nice text / image / …. on a website, and I just would have to use the Press This bookmarklet to save it, easily : THE QUICKEST THE BETTER !
Capture the selection, load it in the Press This popup, save it. No need to have to select the images, insert them in the content, style the content…
After that, you can think to a lot of things (having the medias locally saved, etc), but this is another thing.
What do you think of the idea ?
Springpad have a nice bookmarklet. But I would like to use WP, not Springpad ??
I already have opened a ticket on the WP trac about this, but got no answers. Maybe the best thing to do would be to have this feature in a plugin then…

]]>I have installed the Press This Reloaded plugin (1.1) but am unsure how to add the button to my toolbar so I can use it…I also don’t think I properly understand how it places the excerpt I want from the full page I am scanning to the right part of my WordPress site (or if it puts it into a single location that I can access it from).

First of all, this plugin is AWESOME. It works wonderfully, it gets the images from the external post. Exactly what I was looking for!
My only regret is that I can’t get an excerpt (or part of the article). I have to copy it manually in my post…
If the plugin author read this message: do you think it is a feature that could be added someday? It would make this plugin perfect.

for years now every time i install this plugin
and then drag the Press This button to my browser I end up having to search for 20 minutes in hopes to find the fix for the 404 due to the link javascript being incorrect..

When i change that it grabs the text but i get a perpetual loading… above the edit window and no images ever get loaded.

]]>This significantly slows down loading of the bookmarklet, and locks interaction during(so I can’t eg. edit title while waiting).
More importantly, in my particular case right now I have projects that simply don’t use images where it’ll never apply so it’s nothing but a huge inconvenience.

]]>I use Press This daily several times. Although I paste the external link of the article to create the post in my site, and I paste the external link in the “Original Sources for this post (URLs, ex: https://www.publisher.com/source-1.htm)” area in Press This, it still creates a post with the external link on it where a visitor has to click again on the extenal link to get to the external location of the original page I created a post from. That’s not bad, but I also use Arlima List Page plugin which creates a post page in newspaper layout on my homepage. Using this Arlima plugin, I have to re-paste the exernal links in the “link” button of the post and again at the URL location box which means I am at least doubling my work effort. May be confusing, but any thoughts on how to use “Press This” to create the post, but also be able to one click the link on a post listing page without having to go to the actual post on my site first. ]]>I have installed this plugin and it looks really sweet so far compared to the former “Press This” plugin. Like that I can cut and paste in an excerpt but somewhat tedious. Can this plugin automatically extract an excerpt into the “Press This” which then can allow clicking on a link to see the full article in an external link? It looks like one out of about 10 posts I grabbed did have that capability but don’t know if it was the article or my unknowing skills. LOL. I have tried almost every plugin, it seems, and this so far comes the closest and easiest plugin I’ve seen. If it had this one feature, I’m set. Thanks.

on Reactivation i started getting 404s so I know the deal replace the javascript in the link… did that
however when press this loads it does not show the full editor options it also does not show the date picker in the right sidebar so all posts post right now..
seems like its not activating and just showing the normal press this interface..
I removed the plugin deleted the files and reinstalled.
still the same… Did a Hook Change? not sure
Anyway it is a drag not to be able to set the dates
and inserting an image just times out on the editor .. never displays the dialog… again not sure if the plugin is even activated but it says it is..

]]>I am not using the plugin itself, but it gave me the hint, how to open the new costum post type site just by adding the new parameter “post_type”.
Next thing I want to do, is to populate some costum fields with values given by some other url parameters. I can not find any hint for this in the forums, so I am posting it here, because it seems related for me to the topic of this great plugin.

When using either your plugin or the default Press This that ships with wordpress I am getting a 404 error page in the popup window where the editor should be … but only if I am off of my own site.
It does pop up and if i look in the url field of the browser I see the text I highlighted on the page… but the popup window loads with a 404.
If i am on my own site either in the backend or frontend public area the editor will pop up and work fine.
I am logged in

I am getting 404 errors whenever I click the Press This link on any page outside of my own domain.
I can press the link while viewing the wp backend or i can go to a visitor page on my site and click the link and it will activate the editor.
If I go to any other site I get a 404
The site I am trying it on is a subdomain.mysite.com
It is not a WordPress Network site it is a manual setup with its own install of wordpress 3.0.4

]]>I put the press this reloaded on by bar across the top in firefox browser – when I click on it nothing happens, period. Please help me out.
I can get it to work in Internet Explorer but don’t use that browser.

Neat plugin but using WP 3.01 I find the image grabbing feature is not working. In the orginal Press This there are a couple of buttons which load any images/videos into the edit screen so that one or more can be inserted into the post. This doesn’t work when PT is Reloaded is activated.
