Hi I am getting the following error in my logs:
PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent in …/wp-content/plugins/postmatic-social-commenting/functions/Postmatic_Social_Comments_Session.php on line 28
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
]]>Just what the subject says: G+ is going away. We need a way to let people just use their Google account to comment.
]]>Some time in the last few months, all of the auth methods stopped working. WordPress, Google and Facebook just say “0” and Twitter says “Missing the oauth_token parameter”. My settings haven’t changed and I still have all the client secrets and whatnot that I had before. Though I have probably upgraded WordPress several times.
Any suggestions?

Everyting is set up but icons are not shown on page and post commenting section.
Hello,
I had realized that the layout of the settings page for the plugin User Submitted Posts was broken/all messed up… I went through my other plugins and disabled them one by one, and it turns out that Social Commenting is the plugin responsible for it (when I disable it, everything looks great… when I re-enable it, it breaks again).
Have you had any other reports of this?
Any idea how I may fix it? Or is there another plugin that has the same functionality as Social Commenting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Not support related, but I wanted to know if this plugin replaces the default WordPress comments system or does it add social login to WPs native comments?
]]>Im getting the same “error” as many other ppl. I’ve tried different variation of urls etc. I’ll always get a simple “0” when i press the login button.
How to solve it? I did exactly the same as you did in the video.
]]>Whenever any social login option is clicked it brings up a blank OAuth Window with a zero in it. I have seen several other people inquire about this as well.
I hope we can find a way to resolve this, because as far as I know this is still the most lightweight and only wordpress login free option for social login. I would love to see this working again, but unfortunately I lack the technical know-how to fix it.
If the developers have time to provide an update, I know many in the community would appreciate it.
Sidenote:
Previously the login buttons had a header that said social connect. On my instalation that is now missing. It is only showing 4 social icons… which without context doesn’t really imply that you can login to comment. I would appreciate a fix on this as well if possible… although this is not as important as the main issue at hand.
Hey, Postmatic Social Commenting 1.1.1 had been working fine for me for quite some time, but now when anyone clicks on any of the auth icons, the popup window just displays a “0” on a white background instead of the usual authorization stuff. Happens with all services.
I’m not sure when it broke, but probably recently, possibly after upgrading WordPress? Any suggestions?
I see that it is doing a redirect to e.g. https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?response_type=code&client_id=…&redirect_uri=…pms-facebook-access-token&scope=user_about_me%2Cemail
and if I open that URL in my browser manually, it displays the correct FB icons and what not, and after I click, displays the blank “0” page.

]]>I like the plugin, but I’m not seeing avatars for users of any of the services. I see that the various Authenticator.php files appear to be getting the avatar URLs and storing them in $user_details, but it’s not clear to me what happens to it after that. Maybe you could include a flow-of-control roadmap in the README or something?
I expected to see something show up in the wp_commentmeta for these comments, but there’s nothing there either — e.g., if I had a flag in there that said “this is a Twitter user”, I could dig out the avatar that way. Or at least link the comment to their Twitter URL.

Loved the tutorial vidoes – even though FB Dev Dashboard has changed a bit, they were still very easy videos to follow, and I hooked up the social apps without a problem.
The social login icons appear near the “leave a comment” field, but nothing happens when I click on them.

]]>I am adding this here because your support site isn’t working or it’s blocked by the network I am on. I have setup the Facebook App the best I could and it works. However, I get this giant red outlined box with this warning:
!Submit for Login Review
Some of the permissions below have not been approved for use by Facebook.
Submit for review now or learn more.
App will receive: your personal description.
Weird because there isn’t anything setup in the app wanting this field. Not sure if this is common, but I also have no idea how to get rid of this error.
Anyone else getting this? I might have something ticked that shouldn’t be but I have no idea what it is.

]]>Hi,
According to your guidance video, I have set up Postmatic Social Commenting for my users to post comments via Twitter and Facebook.
However, my comment box does not show any icon for social commenting. Please see below example page where you may only see “コメントを投稿するにはログインしてください。” (which means you need to log in to post a comment).
Do I have to include some specific php code in comments.php or single.php?
Your help will be highly appreciated!

]]>I noticed this plugin only uses facebook to authenticate the person and uses default wordpress commenting system which in turn stores the comments to the wordpress database instead of loading the facebook comments iframe like other plugins do, this is a much better approach and better for seo etc, but I was wondering if it could also pull in the facebook profile picture somehow (this does not work for me if its supposed to do) instead it shows the generic wordpress mystery man avatar? Also would it not be possible to trigger the comment to post to the users timeline as well as my website?

]]>Hi and thank you for being the only one that thought to developed this plugin (beside Jetpack that is a nightmare full of heavy useless stuff). I always wanted a way to be able to comment without having to create a WordPress user or fill in all the requested fields.
I know you developed also Epoch and is fully compatible with Postmatic Social Commenting, but I was wondering how can I make it work with wpDiscuz? I have no programming skills, but I’m able to tweak stuff around a little bit if I have the right directions.
By the way, congratulations on the video tutorials on how to setup your plugin! Very clean and nicely done.
Thanks you.

]]>I’m very confused. I thought the point of this was so that people can log in via Facebook or whatever (not as a user on my site) in order to comment — but how is this supposed to be triggered? If I have the Discussion settings set to require a login, that is the website log in. If I don’t, what enforces the Postmatic plugin?

]]>Hey Postmatic team,
Any theme that modifies the comment form on the comment_form_field_comment
hook will prevent the social icons from outputting due to a conflict with priority. Since this is standard practice for themes to modify the comment form, it would be best for Postmatic to take a later priority on this hook to ensure compatibility.
L48 in functions/Postmatic_Social_Comments_Plugin.php can be updated accordingly:
add_filter( 'comment_form_field_comment', array( $this, 'add_social_options' ), 99 );

]]>Hi there,
I seem to have an issue with this plugin partially working. We have had it installed for a few weeks now. We recently changed servers and moved the site (dailynous.com) which may have had something to do with it I wondered. The Twitter and Facebook logins still work (and have continuously), but the WordPress.com and Google+ logins were working before and after server move, they are now longer working. I am not sure this is related or not, but I tried variations of browsers, users, and even deleted the key and started fresh again the whole process of getting the API from WordPress, to no avail.
The authorization window comes up, and I’m allowed to sign and authorize the account , but nothing happens once this occurs, leaving the user as if they hadn’t tried logging in at all.
Thanks in advance, Any suggestions?

]]>I use WordPress Social Login which also provides social logins for my site sign-up and site login, as well as for my theme’s native commenting.
I find that Postmatic Social Commenting also provides the social logins but only for commenting and not for the login or sign-up pages.
I would like to use Postmatic Social Commenting logins for both and get rid of WordPress Social Login.
Any chance this might happen in a future release?
