My users are getting their emails in the spam folder again. When I first installed Post SMTP, I had this problem but with the help of my hosting provider we fixed it. Now I’m getting the error “Postman is?not?configured and is mimicking out-of-the-box WordPress email delivery”. Also, “Postman will send mail via?Sendmail (server default – not SMTP)?to?localhost:25?using?no?authentication”. Can someone help me? I’m using the “default’ type under transport. Fallback is disabled. I tried enabling use SMTP Authentication and filling in the username and password.
Connectivity test results are below.
How can I deactivate the Postman plugin? I get an error message when I try to deactivate the plugin.
I am using WP Mail SMTP in my site and also Postman SMTP now suddenly “Heads up! WP Mail SMTP has detected Postman SMTP is activated. Please deactivate Postman SMTP to prevent conflicts.” notice is showing on my admin panel how to resolve this
I do have a following error message “Postman: wp_mail has been declared by another plugin or theme, so you won’t be able to use Postman until the conflict is resolved.”
Could you please let me know how to solve this problem!
We’re constantly getting ‘Post SMTP email error’ emails with this error: XOAUTH2 authentication mechanism not supported.
We’re using the Gmail API and have set up the plugin correctly with the client ID and secret via the Google API console. Looking in the Logs section of the plugin, the error only appears for some, not all emails sent from the website.
Your plugin description says this error is down to the website being on a VPS (which it is), but the support thread you link to is over 8 years old and there is no solution, just “move to non-VPS hosting”! Surely there’s an actual fix for this??
My client’s page ” Book an Appointment” Questionaire is not working:
“Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”
When I get to the Postman SMTP plugin it says:
Postman is?not?configured and is mimicking out-of-the-box WordPress email delivery.
Postman will send mail via SMTP to localhost:25 using no authentication.
Postman has delivered 4640 emails. The last 250 email attempts are recorded in the log.
Postman needs translators! Please take a moment to translate a few sentences on-line ??
New for v1.7! Send mail with the Mandrill or SendGrid APIs.

Hi,
Our clients cannot get their password reset links to their mailbox – they go to spam. Your plugin test email is delivered fine.
Could it be that the issue is that the reset emails are being sent by sales@ and test email is sent by info@ mailbox? However, we would like both emails to not be flagged as spam
How can this issue be resolved?
Thank you!

Hi,
In the last couple of weeks our emails have stopped working through Postman SMPT and we can’t work out why. We have just discovered the issue this week. Can you please assist? This is urgent as it is affecting our business.
We did change the Outgoing Mail Server Hostname and email address in February 2021 but it had been working fine until recently. When someone fills out our enquiry form (https://www.horner.com.au/enquiry-form/) normally an email is sent from our website to our sales team to notify us. This email has stopped working. Because of this people are currently unable to actually “submit” on the enquiry form and comes up with an error message “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” The info from the enquiry form is actually going into our contact Database but the email notification to us is not working.
We also send emails to candidates in the form of job alert notifications from our website and these are not sending either.
In the email log the status for the emails says “Unable to connect via TLS”.
I have tried to send test emails and says “Failed” with the message “Unable to connect via TLS”.
Why have the emails suddenly stopped working and how can we urgently fix it?

Hi,
I not receive email not send correctly to my clients.
Why?
Thanks.
Sara
I use smtp.yandex.com port 587.
I use SPF like this -> v=spf1 ip4:103.153.3.19 include:spf.yandex.net ~all
I’ve used the right username and password, I tried logging in on Yandex and was able to log in. So username and password are not a problem.

535 Incorrect authentication data
I am confused where it went wrong?
First off I just want to say thank you Yehudah!
This plugin has helped me with so many of my clients and I couldn’t recommend you enough.
I don’t need a solution or anything just wanted to let you know what was going on.
The Issue
I just wanted to flag something to you because I honestly have no idea what is happening. I installed the Post SMTP plugin just as I do with my other sites and followed through with the Wizard to ensure that all the credentials were correct but I keep getting an “Incorrect authentication data”.
Actions I Took
So I went through the error page to see what was going on:
https://postmansmtp.com/incorrect-authentication-data/
v=spf1 ip4:I_DUNNO_IF_I_CAN_SHOW_THIS include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
This didn’t work so I went through the rest to see what else could help. You mention restricting SMTP to root, but I couldn’t find that option on SiteGround. What I did find was the mention of an SPF validation protocol so I tried adding that to the DNS records too.
v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:DIFF_IP_ADDY include:_spf.mailspamprotection.com ~all
That also didn’t work.
Then I thought it may be because I jumped around to so many different hosting platforms or something but I can’t seem to get your plugin to work with my personal site only. So I cleared up all my DNS records and tried redoing them all again but it still doesn’t seem to work.
I wish I copied the errors so I could show it to you but I forgot to do that still. Anyways I started disabling a bunch of plugins to see if there’s was a conflict… Nothing. Lastly, I tried an alternative: WP Mail SMTP by WPForms and for some reason this one works.
I have configured the Postman settings as per the guidelines. However, I see the followning message on the plugin dashboard:
1.You have configured OAuth 2.0 authentication, but have not received permission to use it. Grant permission with Google.
2. Postman is not configured and is mimicking out-of-the-box WordPress email delivery.
I am using PHP 7.4 and my hosting provider has confirmed that the outbound connections are not disabled for this version

Hey!
Hoping that everything is safe and well.
We have this issue regarding a member trying to reset their password using a .cloud domain on their email. The user keep getting “The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.” message.
After much hours tracking the possible cause, we found a setting in the Postman SMTP Settings under the Message tab on Validation. It says “E-mail addresses can be validated before sending e-mail, however this may fail with some newer domains.”
When we ticked that setting and disabled validation, the email was successfully sent.
The question is is there a way we can add a .cloud validation so that the validation feature would still be enabled. We are very hesitant to turn off email validation but some members with fairly new domain might not be able to login.

Excellent plugin. I love it.
Just to let you know that this text is not translating.
It’s located in the PostmanEmailLogController.php.

Please notice: when you select a date for example 11/20/2017, behind the scene the query select 11/20/2017 00:00:00.
So if you searching for an email arrived that day at any hour you need to select 11/20/2017 as the From Date and 11/21/2017 as the To Date.

Thanks for your hard work.

Hi,
If this plugin is part of a WordPress that is on a whm-cpanel server, hence the server is generally using exim for SMTP outgoing delivery – does this plugin send outgoing SMTP via EXIM (hence affected by exim’s config) or does this plugin do the delivery independently (hence bypassing any EXIM influence)?
Thanks
Just a feature request!
Sometimes gmail revokes permission to send and emails stop sending.
There is no clear warning that this is happening and usually it comes from a client saying they did not receive an email!
Is it possible to have a admin panel message saying “Warning: 5 emails have not been sent…{review emails}”.
many thanks,
Richard
Is there an easy way to delete the whole log vs 10 per page?
Hello
I think there is a bug in Postman SMTP. I use it to send Admin Notifications for Gravity forms, when a new client has made a request. I now realized that the admin notification is not sent when somebody entered an e-mail adress ending in .swiss, which is a possible ending.
The form works fine, its only the notification.
In postman SMTP there is shown an error (in the log): invalid reply to e-mail adress…
Could you please fix this as soon as possible? THis would be great!
Kind regards
Hi,
I have installed your Plugin in multiple sites and its working fine. I am having issues with a site alone – getting ‘Postman is properly configured, but another plugin has taken over the mail’ error.
I have checked and no other SMTP (or MU) Plugins and Theme too didn’t have any override. Here is the diagnostics and could you please help us in resolving the issue?

Hi, we are on Digital Ocean using your plugin version: 1.9.8, domain mail smtp is smtp.gmail.com:587, delivered almost 20k mail without any error… your plugin is working great congrats!!!
A few days ago we had a mail reporting:
You getting this message because an error detected while delivered your email.
For the domain: https://www.cuchillalia.com
The log to paste when you open a support issue:
Could not open socket
We checked the connectivity test and all is ok, can be an error like you wrote here? https://postmansmtp.com/post-smtp-1-9-4-im-only-human/
do we have a bad configuration or simply was gmail that closed a port for a while?
thank you very much
Angelo
Hi. I’ve discovered a bug when sending notification from WooCommerce via your plugin.
The system doesn’t sent emails, and in Log file “Status” field, there is a message: Invalid “Reply-To” e-mail address “My Example Email”
Problem caused:
WooCommerce Settings -> Emails
Email sender options:
“From” name – “My Example Email”
“From” address “[email protected]”
When I set values to both of these fields or leave them both empty, my emails do not delivered. Even the email address is exactly the same to the one I use for smtp settings.
Solution I found:
Leave empty field: “From” name
Set email that I use for SMTP to: “From” address
Only with this configuration email sending works.
Unfortunately options “Prevent plugins and themes from changing this” in Post SMTP -> Settings -> Message, didn’t work for me. I guess plugin could not override WooCommerce settings in my case.
Tested on:
WordPress 5.2.1
Post SMTP Version 2.0.2
WooCommerce Version 3.6.4
Hope this will help somebody who meet the same issue.
Hi,
We activated and used the wizard to configure the Post SMTP which seems to be working perfectly. We see the log of the test emails being sent. However, we have following two message shown in the plugin page:
1) Postman is not configured and is mimicking out-of-the-box WordPress email delivery.
2) You have configured OAuth 2.0 authentication, but have not received permission to use it.
Please could you provide explanation of of the cause and steps to fix the error messages?
We followed the steps as per your guide but cannot understand why this error messages are displayed though the plugin is working it seems.
Thanks,
Samuel
Could you review the diagnostics tests and advise whether there are any issues? I am receiving “Failue to authenticate” when sending emails.
