Post Teaser messes up the page in the dashboard by displaying the menu in the middle of the page and the content of the top of the page runs off the left and right margins.
Hey!
We’re going through all the plugins we use on our WordPress-site to check if they comply with the GDPR.
Is Post Teaser collecting, saving or processing any data (like IP-addresses) from people who visit sites that use the Plugin?
Best regards

Hi, thank you for your plugin.
I just wan to tell you that on my case, plugin count images in a wrong way.
I mean for example from one of my post
(1916 words, 8 images, estimated 7:40 mins reading time)
words: correct
images: sign 8 but in real are 4
I checked in all my post and I see the plugin makes this in every case.
It sign the double of real quantity of the images.
Do you have a fix for this.
Thank you very much.
Hi,
When I force the teaser at a specific place with the <more> tag, this results in the social media share buttons usually found at the bottom of a post to display on my home page above the READ MORE text.
Can you let me know how to prevent this from happening?
Thanks!
In standard theme with activated Jetpack it creates additional items (social sharing, similar posts etc).
Only visible in single post view.
I’m using the latest version of Post Teaser also. I deactivated all my plug-ins (except for Jetpack) and turned them back on one by one. When I reactivated Post Teaser, the Sharedaddy buttons appear at the top of my theme (twenty-eleven) and beneath the post.
Have you considered including an option to display minutes only?
(As an example of a minimal (less specific use):
2 min read
This is a very minor issue. It seems there is an off-by-one error in Post Teaser’s computation of the word count.
For example, the default post reads:
“Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!”.
The Post Teaser plugin adds the blurb:
“Permanent link to this post (16 words, estimated 4 secs reading time)”
I’ve had to double check it a few times, but I’m quite certain that post contains 15 words, not 16.
I installed post-teaser 4.1.3 on WP 4.1 using theme twenty-forteen
I created a post and inserted the more tag (in visual editor) and confirmed to have the more tag <!–more–> where I wanted to in the textual editor.
However, when viewing the post, the tag seems to be completeley ignored.
Of course, that the plugin is activated.
In an attempt to investigate the problem, I changed a debug flag to true:
class post_teaser {
var $version = “4.1.2”;
var $debug = true;
But I have no idea, how $debug is used.
Any ideas, how to fix or further trace down the problems ?
Dear Weyhan,
Thanks for the great plug-in!
Unfortunately we are having a problem on our sites due to a plug-in conflict between the Post Teaser and the Timely Calendar. This started after an update to the Calendar (sorry, not sure which one did it.)
Here is my support request to Timely: https://time.ly/forums/topic/reiterating-content-in-sidebars-conflict-with-post-teaser-plug-in/
I would love for you to work together with them to solve this conflict if possible, please. You will not see the problem on our sites, as there is a temporary fix installed there by our Web Tech:
‘Ok — I was able to track the problem down to a conflict/issue with the “Post Teaser” plug-in. I have eliminated the problem for now by not calling the WordPress filters for “the_excerpt” in the All-in-one Event Calendar code (/home/soiseattle/soi-seattle.org/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/app/view/event/post.php, Lines 85-88).’
Thank you very much.
Kind Regards,
Sura

Fullpost is not working. All my post are still showing as before. Is there anything special that you have to do to make it work?
Hi there,
I am using post teaser. I wanted to teased selective paragraph (lines) in my post.
Lets assume this is a sample post of mine.
A) para 1 – AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
B) para 2 – BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
BBBBBBBBBBB.
C) para 3 – CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC.
What should I do if I want to tease para 3 which is at the end of the post.
Regards,
Vishal
As the title says…
Even deleting the plugin folder and reinstalling doesn’t help
I’ve noticed that one of my recent posts (“Playing Daggerfall, Savage Worlds Style” at JourneymanGM.com) has a Post Teaser link on the main page that says the following: “>>Read more (749 words, 1 image, estimated 3:0 mins reading time)”.
The reading time should be listed as 3:00, rather than 3:0.

I have been using the Digg Digg plugin with no issues but after installing the Post Teaser plugin I have the following problem:
My Digg Digg ‘normal button configuration’ has 3 buttons (Twitter, Facebook Like & Google+) set to ‘float right’ but with the Post Teaser plugin running, it won’t load the Twitter button and the Google+ button although displaying, continually shows a ‘loading’ image above it.
Great if someone has a solution to this as both plugins are great!
Thanks
I’m using latest version of Post Teaser (4.1.1) in my new built site, https://www.coq10weightloss.info. Also latest version of WordPress (3.3.1)
I have activated Post teaser and configured the post preview in 150 words. The only other options activated are “Show read more link at the end of teased post” & “Show post statistics as block”.
The strange problem I face is that although the 150 words preview work properly, I cannot read the whole article when I select “Read More” option.
It just returns me back to the article preview.
Deactivating the Post teaser plugin causes a mess, since I can see only an even smaller post preview (just a few words) and no option for “Read More”. The <!–more–> tag doesn’t help either.
Installing another theme makes no change at all. Trying to deactivate-activate each other plugin separately still no change.
Maybe there’s a setting inside Post teaser that I miss. Can anyone assist please? Is really strange and disturbing.
Hi, would you be kind enough to make this plugin work with
as well as
tags pretty please?
I currently work my blog as the home page being my landing page pigtailbrands.com and my main post blog page this https://pigtailbrands.com/bbq-news-blog/. Problem is teaser isnt working because I think its set to the home page when I need it teasing here https://pigtailbrands.com/bbq-news-blog/. IS there a way I can copy the php snippet or something and place it where the previews will be on here https://pigtailbrands.com/bbq-news-blog/? PLease help and advise how and where to do this. Thanks.
Email me [emails deleted] Thanks.
Hello,
Nice plugin, but not totally working properly.
When you add filters (to disable tease or to force fullpost), only the first category in the comma separated list works. The second category does not.
Also if you check the box “disable tease for categories and/or tags…” (just underneath), the categories filter works, but now all other categories no longer tease and are written as fullposts.
Also, being paragraph aware is not a good idea. When I get a post that has a paragraph that is 500 words long (yes I do get them), then the software will include the full 500 words, even after I had set it to 130 words.
It would be a better idea to make it ‘sentence aware’, that way, posts will be teased up to the word count specified and to the nearest sentence, rather then nearest paragraph.
The plugin is working great on the home page. I have set up an article by subject pages that the posts associate with. Here the post prints in full. Would like to tease this page also. The plug in mentioned working with achieve and catagory pages yet I have been unable to figure out how to build ome.
Hello! I encounter a problem with the two plugins Relevanssi and Post Teaser. I don’t know, which is causing the problem, but here are the facts:
When I search my blog using the search box (the search being provided by the Relevanssi plugin), I get not only the result posts (including their teaser) but just on top of the page (directly following the

tag) there are a number of strange “teasers”:
Permanent link to this post (2 words, estimated 0 secs reading time)
[...]
Permanent link to this post (2 words, estimated 0 secs reading time)
The number of these links is proportional to the number of posts found.
Do you know how to resolve the issue or how I should further investigate the issue?
Thx a lot! Philipp
very good thank you, just something how can we translate “words”
I have a page set as the main page (homepage), how do I enable post teasers on that page?
Since installing your new version, the custom field “Teaser” and the function “Disable,” as set in the Advanced editing screen in WP 3.0.1, no longer functions for articles that use that command.
Can you look at this?
Peace,
Gene Steinberg
Home page is a “page”. Posts have 2 categories. One is strictly for “events” the other is strictly for a weekly newsletter.
I’ve been trying and reading the forums for 6 hours now and can’t get anything shy of the RSS plug-in to do what I want. The theme is a custom Artisteer template.
The post in question have body copy and excerpt fields filled as well as the custom tag.. which also did nothing.
I do not want this excerpt to display on every page that uses index.php. Only the :”Home” page. Therefore I need some sort of shortcode that will go to the Posts category “e-pig_page” and post an excerpt frp, the most recent one. If this is not possible, it should be. If my client needs to overwrite the same post so that the URL is always the same.. I/he can live with that as well.
This really seems like it should be a very simple “no-brainer” yet I have read countless articles from people suffering the same frustration. Some extensible “shortCode” would make all the bad go away.
Any takers?
Hi there,
I would like to add the nofollow tag to the “read more” link for SEO reasons. How can I do that?
For any help and suggestions many thanks in advance.
I installed this and it worked perfectly. However, I’ve since decided that I no longer want to use it, so I uninstalled it. Big problem is that all of my posts are still teased, as if I didn’t uninstall the plugin. What the deal? How do I fix this?
Thanks,
JMR
I downloaded a while ago the Version 3.11.3 here . Now I tried another virus scanner an it discovered that the file is infected with JS.Agent 77.
So I recommend you and all others not to use this file or better to check before using.
